Summer 2010 Sales & Marketing Internships - Kansas City Chiefs Football Club, Inc. (Kansas City, MO)
Our Internship Program is designed to give exposure and experience on how a sales and marketing department for a major sport organization operates. Our emphasis is to provide significant challenges, varying daily operational requirements and opportunity for creativity, resourcefulness, and excellence. Our mission is to provide opportunities for one’s skills in areas of organization, planning, administrative, sales, and service through 1) hands-on experience 2) pride in a job well done, and 3) the knowledge that each intern’s work has benefited the company and has been useful to others.

Final candidates will be selected to participate in an interview process. Finalists will be contacted to schedule an interview. Applications will be kept on file until the start of the internship period in which you applied. You may resubmit your application for another internship period by applying for the internship period when posted.
QUICK FACTS / REQUIREMENTS:
Interviews may be completed by phone but candidates are encouraged to interview in person
Interview expenses such as travel, etc. are the responsibility of the candidate
Any relocation fees are the responsibility of the intern
All candidates must have authorization to work in the U.S.A.
All candidates must receive college credit for their internship
Internship is an unpaid position
HOURS REQUIRED: 40 hours per week and event/game days/nights.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Qualified candidates must possess superior organizational skills and be able to function in a fast-paced, multi-task setting
- Individuals must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must have a working knowledge of the following Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and have internet research skills.

Corporate Sales Intern:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Sales Managers in assembling media kits and sales proposals for client presentations
Assemble leads for sales staff based on demographics
Work with Sponsorship Coordinators on various tasks including but not limited to preparation of materials for distribution to clients, organization of supplies, sending/receiving of event materials, delivery of client related materials, billing, filing, data entry and more
Reports to individual Sponsorship Sales Managers and Coordinators

Corporate Sponsorship Coordinator Intern:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Coordinators with event preparation
Work with Sponsorship Coordinators on various tasks including but not limited to preparation of materials for distribution to clients, organization of supplies, sending/receiving of event materials, delivery of client related materials, billing, filing, data entry and more
Reports to Corporate Sponsorship Coordinators

Special Events Intern:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in planning and implementation of events (Draft Day, Mini-camp, pregame hospitality and non-Chiefs events – KU/MU, Big 12 Championship)
Process and distribute all college parking & event passes
Support Cheerleader & mascot programs
Data entry and office administration
Work all game events
Reports to the Director of Special Events

Premium, Season and Group Ticket Sales Interns:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support season and group sales efforts
Maintain sales related spreadsheets, statistical data, and Chiefs lead development databases
Contact companies and individuals via phone and email
Work Chiefs events/games for ticket sales & service
Processing and distribute group welcome packages and prizes
Data entry and office administration
Reports to individual account executives and the Director of Sales & Marketing

Marketing Intern:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the implementation of marketing goals and objectives
Support database management projects
Assist in coordinating design, layout and distribution of all marketing/communication including print, outdoor, radio, TV and online
Assist in allocating budget between direct mail, newspaper, radio, television and promotion expenses
Coordinate photographic needs for routine and special events, documentation and promotional purposes; production of audio visual programs; and corporate sponsorships in support of special events
Reports to the Marketing Manager
