Intern, Sponsorship (Spring 2018) - USA Football (Cranbury, NJ)

Summary: USA Football is seeking a highly motivated person who will serve as a summer intern for the Sponsorship team. The position will be responsible for assisting with prospecting and pitching sponsors for various USA Football programs and assets.    

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Researching and prospecting for potential sponsors
  • Written (email) and verbal (cold calling) outreach to prospective partners to secure sponsorship meetings
  • Participating and listening in on sales calls, taking notes and recording all communications and notes in CRM system (Salesforce)
  • Tracking call notes with prospective sponsors utilizing Salesforce
  • Writing proposals and creating marketing materials
  • Assist with sponsor activation as needed (events & online)

Education: Recent graduate (within past 6 months) or current college student pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Sports Management or related area

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in sports marketing and sponsorships preferred – including research, sales and activation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and/or Keynote, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated teamwork and work ethic

Notes:

  • Internship begins January 8, 2018 and ends April 27, 2018
  • Internship is full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Internships are unpaid, with a $775 nominal, monthly stipend
  • Reports to Manager, Sponsorship & Business Development
  • Position will be located at USA Football’s Cranbury, NJ office
  • Must secure housing and transportation  
  • USA Football supports interns seeking academic credit
  • Interns must identify learning goals and work with supervisor to achieve goals
    • Examine the organization and its industry/environment
    • Analyze and interpret functions and responsibilities
    • Observe professionals in various roles and participate with them where appropriate
    • Apply academic learning to practical and professional work experiences
    • Learn how to perform specific tasks
