USA Football is a non-profit organization leading the growth and development of youth and amateur football. USA Football provides resources to youth football organizations across the country to keep the sport fun, safe and accessible. USA Football was founded by the NFL and NFL Players Association in 2002 and offers development resources for players, coaches, officials, league commissioners, and parents.

Description:
USA Football is seeking a motivated, disciplined, Regional Manager for the South Region. This individual must be proactive, able to work independently and a self-starter. This position will be responsible for establishing relationships and increasing the number of USA Football members among Commissioners, Coaches, Officials and Players while building brand awareness and engagement with USA Football in the South Region including Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas.

Responsibilities:
Membership - 90% of time
• Research and identify all youth football programs within the region (Web Search, Referrals, etc.)
• Update and save all contacts from the region within the USA Football database
• Annually update the contact and league information for all youth football organizations within the region
• Establish working relationships with League Commissioners (Phone & Meetings)
• Promote and sell USA Football programs and resources to youth football leagues including:
      o Membership (Commissioners, Coaches, Officials and Players)
      o Certified Education Program (Coaching Courses – Tackle/Flag/Recertification)
      o Events (Coaching Schools, Player Academies, Pre & Post Season Events, etc.)
      o Rules
• Execute USA Football State Leadership Forums in every state within the region
• Manage local Event Organizers for all USA Football State Leadership Forums
• Provide superior customer service to every commissioner, coach, official, parent and player within the region
• Manage other duties as assigned

Events - 10% of time
• Work closely with Event Services team
• Schedule and ensure quality on site operation for USA Football Coaching Schools (4-5 per region)
• Assist the Registration Coordinators with the promotion of USA Football Player Academies


Qualifications:
• Have established football relationships within the South region (NFL, College, High School and youth leagues)
• Living in Texas, Louisiana or Arkansas preferred
• Bachelors Degree
• Experience with setting up and executing events
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships
• Sales experience is preferred
• Ability to speak in front of large groups and run meetings
• Understanding and knowledge of football
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
• Ability to manage a database system
• Internet research skills
• Knowledge and passion for football

Communications Paid Intern (Spring Semester 2010) - USA Football (Vienna, VA)

Position Description

USA Football, the sport’s national governing body on youth and amateur levels, hosts more than 100 football training events annually offering education for coaches and game officials, skill development for players and resources for youth football league commissioners. The independent non-profit also manages U.S. national teams within the sport for international competitions.

Endowed by the NFL and NFLPA in 2002 through the NFL Youth Football Fund, USA Football leads the development of youth, high school, and international amateur football.  Among those on USA Football’s board of directors are NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and former Washington Redskins running back Brian Mitchell.

USA Football interns are compensated and have opportunities to apply communications coursework to practical applications within an exciting, business-casual workplace. We currently seek one communications intern to work four days per week. (9a to 5p) starting in January.  We offer a flexible schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

* Write football-related editorial on deadline for usafootball.com and USA Football Magazine, a nationally-distributed magazine dedicated to grassroots football
* Draft public relations materials including news releases, media alerts, fact sheets and other materials as directed
* Identify potential news story ideas relevant to USA Football programs and initiatives
* Pitch story ideas to media, primarily those reporting on sports and health
* Attend and participate in internal meetings and brainstorming sessions 
* Pitch USA Football spokespeople as guests for radio programs

Qualifications:

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products
* Provide up to five writing samples; published news articles or PR materials 
* Strong organizational skills and professionalism
* Possessing media experience and football knowledge is a plus

Description:

USA Football is seeking a motivated, disciplined, Senior Software Engineer. The selected individual will be responsible for development on the website. This individual must be proactive, able to work independently and a self-starter.


Responsibilities Include:

o Enhance administrative functionality for a large web application
o Refactor, repair and maintain a large web application
o Work with stakeholders to gather requirements for new feature development
o Design, test, and implement web applications
o Javascript, CSS and HTML coding
o Write unit tests
o Become the in house website expert

Qualifications and Requirements:

o Professional individual
o Minimum 5 years experience in website development and enhancement
o Ability to configure, maintain, and manage a Linux box
o Work with and respond to non-technical stakeholders and develop functionality that satisfies their needs

o Detailed-oriented and organized
