Digital Media Intern - Seattle Seahawks (Renton, WA)

SUMMARY

The Seahawks Digital Media Internship is a hands-on program designed to develop digital media professionals in the sports industry. The intern will assist the Seattle Seahawks digital media team with the daily management of the organization’s online properties including but not limited to Seahawks.com, and all active social media platforms.

The intern will be responsible for maintaining assigned content categories for the Seattle Seahawks, CenturyLink Field, the Sea Gals and other organizational websites.

By the end of the internship, and in accordance to their strengths and desire to build their weaknesses, the intern will have the opportunity to have first-hand experience in digital media management, digital content production, social media, videography, web design/development, ad-trafficking and the collaborative process that brings it all together.

The intern will be expected to learn heavily through experience and extensive resources will be available to facilitate the edification process at the intern’s initiative.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This internship's workload will be a majority content management, with elements of social media and other digital content production like video
  • Trafficking of website advertisements and reporting for corporate partners
  • Reporting of key metrics and analytics to internal and external stakeholders
  • Support the management of official mobile applications throughout the season and on game days
  • Posting of content (articles, press releases, photo galleries, videos) to official websites using a content management system
  • Collaborate and communicate with social managers in developing content calendar
  • Actively participate in the monitoring of official social media channels
  • Management of assigned site features
  • Assist in the shooting video of press conferences and events as needed
  • Produce assigned site and social content features (graphics, written, photo, video)
  • Maintain quality assurance of site content and features
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders on digital media projects
  • Work with internal departments (Public Relations, Community Outreach, Fan Development, Marketing etc.) in fulfilling digital media needs as requested
  • Manage various tasks for home/away games, including weekends, holidays and evenings

REQUIREMENTS

  • Above average fluency in HTML and CSS
  • Above average fluency in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat and their analytics.
  • Basic understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud (namely Photoshop, Premiere, Dreamweaver)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Familiarity of DoubleClick DFP and DSM a plus
  • Interest and experience in the sports industry a plus

TIME FRAME:

Most of our intern placements will last the duration of the NFL season (approx. late June or early July – February). We will, however, have a few positions that are available for summer only (approx. mid June – August).

  • Be currently enrolled as a junior, senior, or recent graduate (within 6 months) from a four year college or university. Grad. School students are eligible to apply as well.
  • Have authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Have a current driver’s license
  • Be able to work 20+ hours per week as well as game day/nights, weekends and over various events

SELECTION PROCESS:

Final applicants will be contacted and invited to participate in our interview process starting in late April and early May. All interviews will take place at our team headquarters and must be done in person, since we will not conduct phone interviews. Further, we will not pay for any interview related expenses such as travel or lodging; these expenses are the sole responsibility of the applicant.

Digital Media Video Intern - Seattle Seahawks (Renton, WA)

SUMMARY

The Digital Media Video Production Intern will observe and assist the Seattle Seahawks digital media team with the daily management and production of the organization’s online video content.  This position will also assist in management of the organization’s other digital content plan when needed. 

By the end of the internship, the intern will have received first-hand experience in digital media video production, content production for digital media platforms, and videography in a collaborative team and departmental environment.

The intern will be expected to learn and take feedback heavily throughout experience and extensive resources will be available to facilitate the edification process at the intern’s initiative.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This internship's workload will be divided as follows: 80% video production, 15% non-video content management, 5% other digital media
  • Act as web videographer for press conferences and press events
  • Produce, shoot and edit online video packages
  • Setup and teardown of live webcasts
  • Management of assigned site features
  • Produce assigned site content features (written, photo, video)
  • Facilitate quality assurance of site features
  • Interview and host video packages when needed
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders on digital media projects
  • Work with internal departments (Public Relations, Community Outreach, Fan Development and Marketing) in fulfilling digital media needs as requested
  • Expected to work both home and away games including weekends and evenings

REQUIREMENTS

  • Fluent understanding of the video production process
  • Above average fluency with Adobe Premier and Adobe After Effects
  • Formal training in videography and storytelling
  • Basic understanding of web design/development
  • Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Dreamweaver)
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills
  • Must excel in a working team environment
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays during the NFL season

Email Marketing Coordinator - Seattle Seahawks (Renton, WA)

SUMMARY

The Email Marketing Coordinator will play a key role in our marketing group coordinating our email communications, database marketing, and fan nurturing for the Seattle Seahawks. This individual will work to accomplish departmental goals and improve general email marketing and database practices. In addition, this person will coordinate with other departments to help achieve organizational goals as well as collaborate with internal/external stakeholders and demonstrate ongoing development.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage relationships with various direct marketing technology partners including Eloqua, Archtics/Ticketmaster, Microsoft Dynamics CRM and CenturyLink while identifying new opportunities for more effective and efficient direct marketing.
     
  • Build, execute and track all email marketing campaigns including monthly newsletters, targeted sales outreach, promotional offers, event presales, ticket service communications, administrative support and research study invitations. Oversee the planning, design and content creation of email growth and cleanup campaigns.
     
  • Identify key sales, promotion and communication periods and milestones throughout the calendar year and work with Design and Digital departments to plan for, build and post dynamic, relevant and engaging content.
     
  • Manage email marketing calendar and schedule emails across departments in the organization.  Maintain compliance with email marketing best practices and spam laws.
     
  •  Effectively communicate process, information, and best practices of email marketing to internal clients and corporate sponsors.
     
  • Provide support for Microsoft Dynamics CRM and database projects, as needed, from initial implementation through execution of various programs utilizing the database.
     
  • Identify and track customer trends and customer responsiveness to various direct and targeted marketing touch points to identify new marketing opportunities and determine best practices.
     
  • Develop analytic plans to monitor the growth of the Seahawks database, help educate internal stakeholders and guide decisions for a more targeted conversation with our fans.
     
  • Build forms and landing pages to help marketing campaigns collect and track fan engagements and information.
     
  • Work with Marketing Department to plan and execute a variety of different promotional and advertising campaigns throughout the year, including club-controlled media, traditional and digital advertising outlets, broadcast and media partners and more.
     
  • Manage applicable gameday and non-gameday Marketing partnership elements.
     
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
     

QUALIFICATIONS

Strong understanding of email design and experience writing/editing HTML and CSS code. Eloqua, Photoshop and DreamWeaver experience preferable, but not required.
 

Experience with CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) and Ticketmaster’s Archtics database software preferable, but not required.
 

Experience working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to meet deadlines, multi-task and prioritize.
 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
