Digital Media Reporter - Seattle Seahawks (Renton, WA)

SUMMARY

The Seattle Seahawks Digital Media Reporter will serve as the primary writer for the Seattle Seahawks digital media department.  This position will produce written content for a variety of digital platforms including, but not limited to, Seahawks.com, Seahawks Mobile, email newsletters, and the team’s official social media accounts.  In addition, this position will also serve as an on-camera personality as needed. Time for this position will be split between two mediums as follows: 80% written content, 20% on-camera video content.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Produce daily written content including practice reports, player/coaches features, game stories and team analysis.

  • Serve as on-camera host and personality as needed. 

  • Cover community events and team appearances throughout the year.

  • Self post and publish content in a timely manner to team’s website content management system.

  • Contribute to Seahawks Broadcasting radio shows and television shows as needed.

  • Conduct players and coaches interviews on and off camera as needed.

  • Assist other internal departments with copywriting and editing as needed.

  • Develop strong working relationships with players, coaches, and staff.

  • Produce content that adheres to organizational public relations policies.

Internship Opportunites (2015 Season) - Seattle Seahawks (Seattle, WA)

We offer internships throughout our organization and we pride ourselves on offering valuable work experience to interns in a variety of different departments. We have current openings in: Corporate Partnerships, Suites/Hospitality, Ticketing/Marketing, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Fan Development/Community Outreach and PR departments. Specific and detailed job descriptions for each position will be provided to the selected intern once the final candidates have been determined. Note: Interns may rotate between departments as needed.

Objective:

Provide an opportunity to a diverse group of students to gain experience and knowledge in the business, football and stadium operations of a NFL organization. Our interns work alongside our full-time staff and play an integral role in the success of our organization by bringing fresh new ideas that help with the overall success of our company. Interns are involved in active projects in their department where they can apply their coursework and experience in a professional environment, gaining valuable NFL experience.


Time Frame:

Most of our intern placements will last the duration of the NFL season (approx. late June or early July – February). We will, however, have a few positions that are available for summer only (approx. mid June – August).


Requirements: Applicants Must:

Be currently enrolled as a junior, senior or recent graduate (within 6 months) from a four year college or university. Grad. school students are eligible to apply as well.
• Have authorization to work in the U.S.
• Have a current driver’s license.
• Be able to work 20+ hours per week as well as game day/nights, weekends and other various events.


Qualifications:

Qualified applicants must be detail oriented, responsible and have excellent organizational skills. Individuals must also have great written and oral communication skills and be able to work in a fast-paced setting. We also require good computer skills within the Microsoft Office platforms (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint).


Selection Process:

Final applicants will be contacted and invited to participate in our interview process starting in late April and early May. All interviews will take place at our team headquarters and must be done in person, since we will not conduct phone interviews. Further, we will not pay for any interview related expenses such as travel or lodging; these expenses are the sole responsibility of the applicant.

Sales & Marketing: Digital/New Media Sales
Media Sales Manager, Corporate Partnerships - Seattle Seahawks (Renton, WA)

SUMMARY

Responsible for Seahawks radio and television sales.  Responsibilities include; identifying radio and television prospects, presenting season-long and flighted media packages, cultivating sound business relationships and contributing to an annual Seahawks revenue goal. Position requires a thorough understanding of media assets, ratings and trafficking process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Media Sales and Fulfillment

  • Identifying, cultivating and securing new media advertisers for Seahawks radio and television programing, includes:

  • Game day radio – pre-game, play-by-play and post-game (local market and Seahawks radio network).

  • Seahawks preseason television – pre-game, play-by-play and post-game (local market and Seahawks television network).

  • Seahawks Weekly television programming – All Access and Press Pass

  • Must be skilled in proposal preparation, presentation and closing full-season and flighted media programs.

  • Maintain sales activity in department CRM and provide weekly status reports on all sales activity to VP Corporate Partnerships.

  • Collaborate with VP Corporate Partnerships/Sales Directors when prospects inquire about Sponsorship asset opportunities.

  • Conduct regular meetings with broadcast team to discuss opportunities within the media properties that could enhance the broadcasts and generate revenue.

  • Will need to be knowledgeable writing script copy when needed.

  • Maintain traffic instructions and fulfillment orders for all booked media business.

 Additional Responsibilities

  • Accounts receivable tracking and follow-up.

  • Participation at media partner hospitality events and hosting advertisers at games.

  • Contribute to the department with ideas and concepts that will grow our media sales efforts.
