The Washington Redskins are seeking a qualified individual to work in our "state of the art" kitchen and join our kitchen staff as an AM or PM Line Cook.  The Line Cook is a kitchen staff position that focuses on making great food items. 

The Line Cook is expected to:

  • Have a positive, professional and team oriented attitude
  • Follow all safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
  • Maintain a clean work area at all times
  • Anticipate guest levels rising or falling and maintain dining room appearance
  • Complete routine cleaning assignments
  • Safely and properly handle all kitchen equipment and small wares
  • Keep involved in the back of the house and check and recheck station and counters for cleanliness
  • Plan ahead and be organized

Day to day job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Check for quality of product and freshness.  Alert the Executive Chef to anything that does not seem "First Class"
  • Set up breakfast, lunch and dinner line station and maintain appearance and quality of food product on line so only "First Class" dishes are served
  • Work along side the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in preparing dishes for each meal service
  • Follow through on daily prep and/or production list that are given for the day and double check any items that may be below or not up to given standards
  • Keep up on all cleaning and preventative maintenance list and follow up with Executive Chef if something appears out of ordinary
  • Work along side Executive and Sous Chef in maintaining storage and walk ins so the product is put away and rotated following FIFO standard
  • Ensure that anything produced from a production sheet is labeled and put in appropriate place
  • Make sure that any item that is prepared in the kitchen is prepared in accordance with given food safety standards and follow only the highest standards
  • Keep station organized for speed of service and place prep items to be used in cold reach ins
  • Keep all storage areas organized and up to date following a FIFO standard and basic food service handling
  • Maintain uniform standards and follow scheduled in times

Responsibilities Description:

The business development position is more along the lines of “prospecting” responsibilities – researching potential clients and writing up bio’s, help create sales presentations/compile pictures that the sales team will use when reaching out to new clients, keep and maintain game day/client notes that are archived in our CRM system, etc.

Time Requirements:

  • Full time is preferred (M-F). 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Responsibilities List May Include But Not Limited To:

  • Create prospect lead lists.
  • Research and create biographies in Washington Redskins database for potential sales leads.
  • Research event attendees for Washington Redskins hosted events as well as events hosted by outside vendors that Washington Redskins sales people will attend.
  • Discover new prospects through Newspapers, Journals, Magazines, and Event Lists.
  • Help maintain and update current and prospective client database including personal and professional information.
  • Assist with the planning of and execution of Washington Redskins Suite Owner events.
  • Assist with the planning of and execution of Washington Redskins prospect attended events.
  • Create FedExField Suite presentations for prospects.
  • Help to maintain office organization with properly labeling folders and binders, contract distribution, updating necessary suite listing and availability charts.
  • Maintain and update the Suites/Hospitality memorabilia inventory storage room.
  • Attend networking events at Redskins Park and FedExField.
  • If necessary help with the execution of Washington Redskins home games or special events hosted at FedExField.
  • Help with the contacting of prospects to arrange and confirm meetings and/or event attendance.
  • Draft letters to company executives who view our website in order to follow up on their expressed interest.
  • Combine all created lead lists into the master lead list to ensure that prospects are always followed up with.
  • Help with answering the phone and taking messages while full time staff members are in meetings.
  • Students will use our Archtics program to assist with looking up client accounts for ticketing information and invoicing purposes.
  • Help with the FedEx shipping of client gifts, ticket packages, and memorabilia.
  • Assist in hosting prospect meetings at FedExField to allow individuals to visit and tour suites.
  • Help with creating mail and email merges in order to reach current clients and prospects.
  • Student will also help with researching contact information for any prospective clients or referrals.

The Washington Redskins are seeking a creative and qualified intern to support the Washington Redskins Art Director by assisting in the design, development and production of creative projects and services, with the primary focus as a graphic designer.  This is an unpaid position and the ideal candidate will be able to earn college credits.

The right individual must take great pride in their work and pay strong attention to detail. Applicant must have strong understanding of graphic design tools and standards along with a strong sense of design style. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, while keeping organized and maintaining the highest standard of design quality in all work. Needs to be able to work as part of a team or individually. The Graphic Design intern will be a part of the Redskins Digital Media group.

A Graphic Design intern at the Washington Redskins responsibilities include the following:

  • Design and layout a wide variety of print materials, such as newspaper and gameday magazine advertisements, flyers, brochures, posters, postcards, direct mail pieces and invitations
  • Design and illustrate graphic materials including logos, signage and website images
  • Assist with photo editing and manipulation of graphics for sponsor mockups and marketing presentations
  • Preparing files for proofs, print and final outputs
  • File management and archiving and documentation of all sponsored and web initiatives for annual recaps
  • Assist with preparation of projects including finding useable photos, scanning and photography
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Experience with video editing with iMovie or similar
  • Ability to work on both Mac and Windows platforms
  • Excellent design skills and creativity
  • Knowledge of production for collateral including resolution, sizes and file types, as well as scanning, pre-press and print production

Staff Accountant - Washington Redskins (McLean, VA)

The Washington Redskins are hiring a staff accountant who will be responsible for performing daily accounting functions of the not-for-profit affiliates.  Functions include but are not limited to general ledger account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, recording and posting entries in the financial system, weekly procurement processing, preparation of monthly financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and established company polices, accounts receivable collections, preparation of Form 990 and other related tax forms, and perform ad-hoc accounting projects as requested by management.

Major duties and responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly financial closing journal entries
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Prepare and analyze organizational financial statements
  • Prepare monthly account roll forwards and balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Prepare Form 990 and other state regulatory forms for compliance
  • Provide requested information to auditors, consultants, and others on audits and other matters requiring coordination
  • Other projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance
  • 2+ years accounting experience 
  • Prior experience with 501c(3) accounting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Familiarity with accounting/financial software
  • Knowledge of Epicor and FRx is a plus
  • Solid understanding of general accounting principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate financial data and effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Strong administrative and organization skills with attention to detail and follow-up required

Strategic Marketing Intern-FALL 2014 - Washington Redskins (Ashburn, VA)

The Washington Redskins are seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual to assist the Marketing Department as an intern for Fall 2014. The intern will assist in the development, implementation and coordination of numerous strategic marketing initiatives, with a strong focus in the Redskins Kids Club, Redskins Women’s platform, gameday initiatives, and Think Pink and Military Appreciation campaigns. The individual will have the opportunity to learn about the responsibilities of a National Football League Marketing Department by working as a member of the team and assisting in its day-to-day operations.

 It is preferable that the intern is able to start on or around August 14, 2014.  Candidate MUST be able to work at least 40 hours a week.  Opportunity to stay on-board through Spring 2015 also available.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Event Planning for numerous Redskins events each month ranging from 50-300 guests; includes working with Redskins operations, catering, vendors, team sponsors and overall event execution.  Major in-season events include but are not limited to pre-game parties, leadership panels, a three-part Football 101 event series, Breast Cancer Awareness events, fitness events, chalk talks, volunteer opportunities, and more
  • Manage social media content and sweepstakes for various Redskins digital platforms
  • Content Creation and Management: Manage monthly email communications, help to build online presence including blogs and content for fan club websites (WOWRedskins.com, RedskinsKidsClub.com)
  • Database management for multiple fan databases and overall customer service; Will work with club members and parents in one-on-one situations to solve individual issues

Qualifications:

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student who can receive college credit for their time
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Previous experience or interest in strategic marketing and/or event planning
  • Above average computer skills in Microsoft Excel are required (Photoshop experience a plus)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Washington Redskins are looking for friendly, high-energy, motivated sellers to join our 50/50 raffle sales team for the 2014 season. This is a paid seasonal position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Approach fans pre-game and in-game to explain the details of the 50/50 raffle program
  • Accurately handle the sale and distribution of the tickets, following program requirements
  • Answer questions fans may have about the program and the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation
  • Turn in all cash and tickets to Coordinator at the close of the shift
  • Meet and exceed minimum sales goals
  • Hours: Approximately 8 hours each Washington Redskins Home Game (Two Pre-Season and Eight Home Games). Attendance at all home games is required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be over 18.
  • Prior cash handling experience required
  • Ability to interact positively with large fan base
  • Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Strong sales skills. A background in sales or marketing is strongly encouraged.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and use problem solving skills
  • Candidates must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays if necessary.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions
