The Washington Redskins are searching for a Business Development Manager with the proven ability, drive and determination to sell corporate sponsorships. The position will be based out of Redskins Park, located in Ashburn, VA.

The right candidate will have sold sponsorships for a league, team, and other sports/entertainment entity or has sold large integrated media packages (print, TV, radio, digital, out-of-home), have a solid understanding of the conceptual sales development process, have strong verbal and communication skills and must be a self-starter.

Aspects of the job will primarily include but are not limited to the following:

  • Prospecting and appointment setting with VP and C-Level contacts
  • Generate new sponsorship revenue by identifying and prioritizing prospective corporate partners through various channels
  • Develop, review, edit and jointly pitch sponsorship proposals
  • Ability to collaborate in a fast paced, team environment

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A four year college degree, a Masters degree is a plus
  • 2+ years of sales experience, sports industry preferred, but not required
  • Self-motivated, strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication, presentation, writing, and customer facing skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and a familiarity with CRM systems
  • Solid grasp of social media (Facebook, Twitter, blogs, etc.),
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends and evenings
  • Solid references

The Washington Redskins are seeking a dedicated & energetic IT Professional to join our IT Staff as a Network Engineer. This position will be primarily at FedExField; however will work out of all office locations (Ashburn, VA, Rockville, MD, Landover, MD, and Richmond, VA).


Qualifications must include:

  • Configure, test, and maintain Voice/LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi/DAS equipment and related network services
  • Implementing and maintaining security systems: Firewalls, IPS, VPN, ACLs, VLANs, MSSP, etc.
  • Maintaining existing and deploying new Cisco routers and switches of various models
  • Maintaining the 24x7 operation of the network infrastructure
  • Monitors and maintains network documentation, network material and supply inventories Responsible for MDF and IDFs at all locations (Cabling, UPS, Racks, Labeling, Documentation)
  • Assist with Audio Visual Systems
  • Configure and manage DHCP and DNS
  • Manage Microsoft Exchange Environment & Spam/malware protection, Encryption, DLP
  • Prefer candidate to have experience in VMWare, Exchange, Audio/Video support and Systems with a MS/Cisco environment including VoIP.
  • Apply a proactive approach to infrastructure support
  • Have the ability to handle a wide variety of IT Projects and responsibilities.

Facility Operations/Security: Game Day/Event Staff
Part-Time Event Services Manager - Washington Redskins (Landover, MD)

The Washington Redskins Operations Department is seeking a Part-Time Event Services Manager to support in the execution of 300+ events that takes place at both FedExField and Redskins Park during the calendar year. This position is a 30-hour per week maximum (hourly wage position) with no opportunity for benefits.

This position is designed for local professionals or sport management graduates seeking to supplement their income with an additional part-time job, while at the same time being involved the high-energy and highly rewarding business of event management. The candidate will have the opportunity to learn about the responsibilities of a National Football League operations staff while working as a part-time member of the department and assisting in its day-to-day event functions. Involvement in special events includes, but are not limited to Stadium Tours, Concerts/Festivals, Ride & Drives, Corporate Conventions, Hospitality Receptions, Weddings, Football Camps/Clinics, Sponsor Events and Holiday Parties.

Candidates must be able to work extended hours including some nights and weekends during event periods.  A background in sport management is strongly encouraged, but not required. 

The Washington Redskins are a military-friendly organization actively recruiting veterans and spouses.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary Event Day Manager  for (Non-NFL) events representing the Washington Redskins with various clients and sponsors utilizing FedExField or Redskins Park
  • General Logistics management – including the possibility of set-up/break-down of an event space, conducting inventory, etc.
  • Event oversight of Washington Redskins partners and contractors
  • Direct supervision of Washington Redskins part-time event staff – including hourly management, position assignment and personnel management
  • Provide outstanding customer service to guests attending both FedExField and Redskins Park by answering all questions as necessary
  • General office work to include email, phones, managing time sheets etc.
  • Perform additional duties as required by the Operations and Special Events staff

Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation - Spring Programs Intern - Washington Redskins (Ashburn, VA)

The Washington Redskins are seeking qualified individuals to join the Community Relations/Charitable Foundation Department as an Intern. The right individual will be able to work as part of a team or individually. The ideal candidate must be able to receive college credit for a semester-long internship experience. This is a full-time internship (35 hours a week). It is preferable that the intern is able to start on or around January 2, 2018.

 

Overview of Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation and Community Relations Department

The Redskins Charitable Foundation is ever-present in the community, constantly working to achieve our mission to make a positive and measurable impact in the lives of children that need it most.

Since Redskins owners Dan and Tanya Snyder created the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation in 2000, we have given back more than $20M to the community and currently provide support and services to more than 150,000 individuals (mostly children) annually, focusing on supporting education, children’s health and wellness and preparing them for their future. 

 

Internship Responsibilities

Assisting in the coordination and implementation of Charitable Foundation and Community Relations Department programs and events including, but not limited to:

  • Support entire department around spring special events, including Rookie Community Club, Redskins FITT events and Redskins Read Celebrations
  • Collaborate with staff on new ideas for 2018 Redskins Training Camp and other programs and events during the 2018 season
  • Monitor and update status of school and non-profit programming, including the 2017 – 2018 Redskins FITT Program and Redskins Read Program
  • Oversee in-school workshops and manage on-site facilitation of activities for Redskins FITT Program
  • Assist with the development of Youth Football initiatives including NFL Flag, Play 60 and Fuel Up to Play 60
  • Research various youth programs and potential non-profit partners throughout the DC Metro Area
  • Create thoughtful and engaging posts for the Redskins Charitable Foundation’s Twitter and Instagram accounts
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Intern Candidate Requirements:

  • Full-time undergraduate/graduate student; MUST receive college credit in order to qualify for this internship – Proof of credit letter from your College or University is required
  • Detail oriented self-starter who works well with others
  • Highly creative to assist with new slogans, digital art and logos

·         Previous experience or interest in strategic marketing and/or event planning preferred

  • Excellent communication, writing & interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite proficient)

  • Ability to interact with players, staff, donors, and the community in a professional manner
