The Washington Redskins are looking for enthusiastic, career-driven individuals to join the 50/50 Raffle gameday team at all Redskins home games during the 2017 Season. Ideal candidates will be either in their senior year of college or currently enrolled in a graduate level program and looking to advance their careers within the sports field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-          Assist the Donor Service Coordinator with new marketing initiatives to increase sales, including but not limited to: Social media, target marketing, in game promotions etc.

-          Help to create and implement new 50/50 Raffle sales strategies throughout the stadium

-          Problem solve and answer questions about the 50/50 Raffle from fans, staff and sellers

-          Assist Coordinator and Director of Special Events to manage more than 30 part-time staff including helping to coordinate setup, checkout, troubleshooting, sales, ticket distribution, etc.

-          Assume all other duties and responsibilities as assigned during the 50/50 Raffle

Hours: Approximately 8-10 hours each Washington Redskins Home Game.

Qualifications:

-          Must be over 18 years of age

-          Must receive college credit in order to qualify for this internship – Proof of credit letter from your College or University is required

-          Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills

-          Candidates must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays if necessary

-          Must be able to work all ten (10) home games

50/50 Game Day Seller - Washington Redskins (Landover, MD)

The Washington Redskins are looking for enthusiastic individuals to sell 50/50 Raffle tickets to Redskins fans at home games at FedExField to benefit the Redskins Charitable Foundation.

This position requires an outgoing personality as sellers will be asked to approach fans attending the game to purchase 50/50 raffle tickets, all to help make a difference in the community.


This is a paid, part-time seasonal position. Cash bonus incentives are given to exceptional sellers each home game. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

¾     Approach fans to spread awareness of 50/50 raffle program and the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation

¾     Sell 50/50 raffle tickets to fans pre-game and/or in-game

¾     Handle large amounts of money and electronic transactions

¾     Accurately handle the sale and distribution of the tickets

Time Requirements:

The Washington Redskins Photography Department offers summer, season-long and spring internships.  The internships are designed for either undergraduate or graduate students and are unpaid positions.  All candidates must be able to receive course-credit for the internship.  The intern will have the opportunity to learn about the responsibilities of a National Football League communications staff while working as a member of the department and assisting in its day-to-day functions.

The Washington Redskins are seeking qualified individuals to join the Community Relations/Charitable Foundation Department as a part-time Street Team Member for the Redskins FITT Program. The right individuals will be able to work as part of a team or individually.

Overview of Redskins FITT

In 2016, the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation, in partnership with the District of Columbia Public Schools and the American Diabetes Association®, introduced Redskins FITT (Frequency, Intensity, Time & Type)– A youth health & wellness initiative. The program is currently implemented in select middle schools across the DC/Metro Area.

Redskins FITT is designed to encourage a healthy lifestyle and assist middle school students in the development of their personal fitness goals. Students track their progress in the Redskins FITTbook, an interactive workbook that includes lessons on physical activity, nutrition and cognitive development.

Participating schools have the opportunity to request up to two (2) Redskins FITT Workshops during the school year. Each visit lasts between 60 and 90 minutes and provides activities related to the FITT curriculum. Workshop topics include:

·          Physical Activity

·          Nutrition Education

·          Cognitive Development

Street Team Member Responsibilities:

-           Facilitate and execute Redskins FITT workshops at middle schools in the DC/Metro Area during the 2017-2018 school year

o    Potential workshop locations will include Washington D.C., Fairfax County, Loudoun County and Prince George’s County

-           Create a positive, encouraging and fun environment, while teaching important lessons on physical activity, nutrition and cognitive development

  • Assist in distribution of credentials and statistics.
  • Assist in transcribing and distribution of post-game press conferences and quotes.
  • Monitor player interviews.
  • Maintain the press box at FedExField, keeping it fully stocked with updated team information.
  • Prepare press box for game day.
  • Research statistical information for management, coaches, scouts and internal department as needed.

Gameday Staff Requirements:

·         Must attend ALL preseason, regular season and postseason home games.

·         Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.

·         Strong writing skills.

·         Detail-oriented and organized.

Fall 2017 Internship Position

The Washington Redskins are seeking qualified individuals to join the Community Relations/Charitable Foundation Department as an intern. The individual will have the opportunity to learn about the responsibilities of a National Football League Community Relations Department and Charitable Foundation by working as a member of the team and assisting in its day-to-day operations.

It is preferable that the intern is able to start on or around August 22, 2017, however this date is flexible. Candidate MUST be able to work at least 40 hours a week. Exceptional applicants will have the opportunity to extend their internship through the off-season season until May 5, 2018.

 

Internship Responsibilities

Assisting in the coordination and implementation of Charitable Foundation and Community Relations Department programs and events including, but not limited to:

  • Assist in the planning, coordination and promotion of multiple high-profile events including but not limited to the Redskins 56th annual Welcome Home Luncheon, the only time the entire Redskins organization gathers for a single event off the field and the Foundation’s largest event, the Redskins Runway Show, and Community Man of the Year event
  • Assist with the development, marketing and promotion, and ultimately the execution of numerous fundraising initiatives including but not limited to the Redskins Breast Cancer Awareness t-shirt campaign and Redskins License Plate program
  • Manage the planning and execution of the Foundation’s 50/50 Raffle program during the 2017 season (a nearly $500,000 fund) including but not limited to developing a marketing and promotion plan, hiring and training of gameday staff, and responsible for managing the program on gameday
  • Manage all event Silent Auctions including strategy development, marketing and promotion, and management of item procurement through relationship building with local businesses and organizations
  • Aid the Development team in designing new communication strategies including but not limited to the Foundation’s social media presence (Twitter and Instagram) and e-newsletter platforms
  • Support the Development team in the execution of Foundation sponsorship contracts including print advertising, special events, hospitality and in-game promotion
  • Work directly with the Director of Special Events on business development
  • Manage select event vendor relationships on behalf of the Foundation.
  • Write articles for team publications

Intern Candidate Requirements:

  • Full-time undergraduate/graduate student; MUST receive college credit in order to qualify for this internship – Proof of credit letter from your College or University is required
  • Detail oriented self-starter who works well with others
  • Highly creative to assist with new slogans, digital art and logos

·         Previous experience or interest in strategic marketing and/or event planning preferred

  • Excellent communication, writing & interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite proficient)
  • Team player, humble enough to handle a variety of tasks; no job beneath them
  • Ability to interact with players, staff, donors, and the community in a professional manner
  • Proven experience to appropriately work with and around confidential information is necessary
  • Compensation: Bi-Weekly stipend
