The Washington Redskins are looking for enthusiastic, career-driven individuals to join the 50/50 Raffle gameday team at all Redskins home games during the 2017 Season. Ideal candidates will be either in their senior year of college or currently enrolled in a graduate level program and looking to advance their careers within the sports field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-          Assist the Donor Service Coordinator with new marketing initiatives to increase sales, including but not limited to: Social media, target marketing, in game promotions etc.

-          Help to create and implement new 50/50 Raffle sales strategies throughout the stadium

-          Problem solve and answer questions about the 50/50 Raffle from fans, staff and sellers

-          Assist Coordinator and Director of Special Events to manage more than 30 part-time staff including helping to coordinate setup, checkout, troubleshooting, sales, ticket distribution, etc.

-          Assume all other duties and responsibilities as assigned during the 50/50 Raffle

Hours: Approximately 8-10 hours each Washington Redskins Home Game.

Qualifications:

-          Must be over 18 years of age

-          Must receive college credit in order to qualify for this internship – Proof of credit letter from your College or University is required

-          Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills

-          Candidates must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays if necessary

-          Must be able to work all ten (10) home games

The Washington Redskins are looking for enthusiastic individuals to sell 50/50 Raffle tickets to Redskins fans at home games at FedExField to benefit the Redskins Charitable Foundation.

This position requires an outgoing personality as sellers will be asked to approach fans attending the game to purchase 50/50 raffle tickets, all to help make a difference in the community.


This is a paid, part-time seasonal position. Cash bonus incentives are given to exceptional sellers each home game. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

¾     Approach fans to spread awareness of 50/50 raffle program and the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation

¾     Sell 50/50 raffle tickets to fans pre-game and/or in-game

¾     Handle large amounts of money and electronic transactions

¾     Accurately handle the sale and distribution of the tickets

Photography Intern - Washington Redskins (Ashburn, VA)

The Washington Redskins Photography Department offers summer, season-long and spring internships.  The internships are designed for either undergraduate or graduate students and are unpaid positions.  All candidates must be able to receive course-credit for the internship.  The intern will have the opportunity to learn about the responsibilities of a National Football League communications staff while working as a member of the department and assisting in its day-to-day functions.

Fall Internship Responsibilities (August - January)

Internship Responsibilities

Assisting in the coordination and implementation of Charitable Foundation and Community Relations Department programs and events including, but not limited to:

  • Special Event Assistance – Support entire department around summer special events, including Redskins Back to School Fair and Training Camp Community Events

·         Redskins FITT – Monitor and update status of school and non-profit organization involvement for the 2017-2018 Redskins FITT Program

The right individual will be able to work as part of a team or individually. The ideal candidate must be able to receive college credit for a semester- long internship experience. This is a full-time internship (40 hours a week) that would begin in Ashburn, VA and end in Richmond, VA for Training Camp.

 

Overview of Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation and Community Relations Department

The Redskins Charitable Foundation is ever-present in the community, constantly working to achieve our mission to make a positive and measurable impact in the lives of children that need it most.

Since Redskins owners Dan and Tanya Snyder created the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation in 2000, we have given back nearly $20M to the community and currently provide support and services to more than 190,000 individuals (mostly children) annually, focusing on supporting education, children’s health and wellness and preparing them for their future. 

Internship Responsibilities

Assisting in the coordination and implementation of Charitable Foundation and Community Relations Department programs and events including, but not limited to:

  • Special Event Assistance – Support entire department around summer special events, including Redskins Back to School Fair and Special Olympics Flag Football Season Opener
  • Training Camp – Assist in the planning and execution of Training Camp Special Events, including Kids Day, Redskins Flag Football Clinic and Mom’s Clinic. Other Training Camp duties include:
    • Hosting WRCF guests and sponsors in VIP hospitality area
    • Scheduling of local youth groups to attend open practice days
    • Coordinating other daily training camp Community Relations and Charitable events as needed
  • Research Projects – Assist with researching various youth programs and potential non-profit partners throughout the DC Metro Area.
  • Social Media Assistance – Create thoughtful and engaging posts for the Redskins Charitable Foundation’s Twitter and Instagram accounts
  • 2017 Pre-Season Home Games Responsibility – Assist at home pre-season games for the Redskins Charitable Foundation, duties could include coordinating youth teams or organizations, delivering in-game fan packs, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Intern Candidate Requirements:

  • Full-time undergraduate/graduate student
  • Candidate MUST receive college credit in order to qualify for this internship – proof of credit letter from your College or University is required
  • Polite, positive, self-starter who works well with others
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Strong writing skills – writing sample may be required
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Can work independently when given a task and have the focus to follow through & follow-up if problems arise
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite proficient)
  • Proactive in asking questions when needed
  • Team player, humble enough to handle a variety of tasks; no job beneath them
  • Ability to handle physical requirements of job including setting up equipment for events and other light to medium lifting
  • Ability to interact with players, staff, and the community in a professional manner
  • Proven experience to appropriately work with and around confidential information is necessary

Washington Redskins Digital Media Intern - Washington Redskins (Ashburn, VA)

The Washington Redskins are seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual to support the Digital Media department as an intern, with the primary focus on daily HTML maintenance and design for Redskins.com and related digital assets.

The right individual must take great pride in their work and pay strong attention to detail. Applicant must have a strong technical knowledge of website development and understanding of website standards and digital trends. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, while keeping organized and maintaining high standards in all work. Needs to be able to work as part of a team or individually.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Daily editing of content and design of subpages on Redskins.com and other Redskins microsites including RedskinsPremiumClub.com, RedskinsSpecialEvents.com, RedskinsHealthandWellness.com, and RedskinsKidsClub.com
  • Creation of sponsor dedicated subpages, content and integration on Redskins.com
  • Manage and monitor spam and commenting modules on Redskins.com
  • Support the execution of vision and strategy for best-in-class NFL club site
  • Develop marketing e-newsletters and email campaigns
  • Ability to turn designs into functional web applications
  • Assist with creation of photo galleries, as well as photo editing for stories, ads and features across all Redskins digital assets
  • Research ways to improve the design, navigation and fan experience on Redskins.com and other team microsites
  • Track and monitor website analytics and help find areas for improvement
  • Assist with ad banner trafficking and monitoring on Redskins.com, including generating performance reports for sponsors and the Redskins marketing team
  • Maintain quality assurance and usability testing
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and foursquare
  • Assist with Redskins Rally program including management of bar database, overseeing merchandise inventory, and maintenance of RedskinsRally.com
  • Assist Digital Media Analyst with weekly gathering and reporting of site metrics
  • Assist with other duties as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of HTML (2+ years)
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Dreamweaver and Photoshop
  • Understanding of CMS tools and how they relate to the published product
  • Basic understanding of SEO best practices
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Detail-oriented and strong organization and project management skills
  • Polite, positive, self-starter who works well with others
  • Strong knowledge of sports and football
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Above average computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) are required
  • Experience with CSS, Flash, JavaScript, and video editing (ie iMovie) a plus.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to receive college credit and have completed course work in the field of Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Advertising, or a related field
  • Must provide own means of transportation to Redskins Park in Ashburn, Virginia
