Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation-Programs Intern - Washington Redskins (Ashburn, VA)

The Washington Redskins are seeking qualified individuals to join the Community Relations/Charitable Foundation Department as an Intern. The right individual will be able to work as part of a team or individually. The ideal candidate will be able to receive college credit for a semester-long internship experience.  This is a full time internship (40 hours a week).

Overview of Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation and Community Relations Department
Founded in 2000 by Daniel M. Snyder, the mission of the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation is to utilize the assets of the NFL franchise and its corporate and community partners to make a positive and measurable impact on youth development in the greater Washington, DC region in the areas of education, community outreach, and health and wellness. The mission of the Washington Redskins Community Relations Department is to be responsive to the needs of the community while also making a positive and significant impact through community programs, events, and the support of area nonprofits.

Internship Responsibilities
Assisting in the coordination and implementation of Charitable Foundation and Community Relations Department programs and events including, but not limited to:

  • Assist with the planning and execution of weekly, monthly and annual Charitable Foundation and Community Relations programs
  • Coach of the Week/Coach of the Year (fall only)
  • Tracking programs such as Redskins Read and Fuel up to Play 60
  • Write articles for team publications
  • Fan Mail
  • Local school and non-profit research
  • Other duties as assigned

Intern Candidate Requirements:

  • Full-time undergraduate/graduate student
  • Candidate MUST receive college credit in order to qualify for this internship – proof of credit letter from your College or University is required
  • Polite, positive, self-starter who works well with others
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Strong writing skills – a 1 to 3 page writing sample will be required
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Can work independently when given a task and have the focus to follow through & follow-up if problems arise
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite proficient)
  • Proactive in asking questions when needed
  • Team player, humble enough to handle a variety of tasks; no job beneath them
  • Ability to handle physical requirements of job including setting up equipment for events and other light to medium lifting
  • Ability to interact with players, staff, and the community in a professional manner
  • Proven experience to appropriately work with and around confidential information is necessary

Community Relations: Community Relations
Youth Programs Operations Coordinator - Miami Dolphins (Miami Gardens, FL)

SUMMARY:    Operations Coordinator assists in all Miami Dolphins youth programs event operations and assists our Communications department with Community Affairs events. These duties include scheduling youth programs events, event record keeping including event P&L, contact database, and email communications.  Operations Coordinator will assist in overseeing volunteers, coaches and SA for each program/events.


  • Coordinates setup and breakdown plan for each event

  • Managing setup and breakdown of all events

  • Assists in creating timelines and creates checklists for each event

  • Create signup pages on signup4 for all events

  • Oversees loading/unloading, stocking, cleaning and maintenance of the truck for every event.

  • Clean all equipment and maintain and organize storage.

  • Manage Social and Digital Media

  • Works with Communication's department in writing stories and press releases for events



  • Purchasing

  • Creates invoices

  • Updates event P&L after every event

  • Creates Profit and Loss Sheet for every major event

Manage Staff

  • Coordinates all summer staff and year-long interns

  • Track hours and pay staff

  • Schedule staff for events when needed

Other related duties as assigned.




  • Education: College degree required

  • Work Experience: Internship or at least one year of experience in a sports-related field

  • Language: Bilingual candidates are preferred, but not required

  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office and basic Internet knowledge

  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Ability to participate in manual labor. 

  • Ability to work outside in an active environment.

  • Proven time management and prioritization skills.
