Payroll Clerk and Accounting Assistant - Kansas City Chiefs (Kansas City, MO)

Position Profile: Payroll Clerk and Accounting Assistant

Department: Finance

Reports to: Payroll Manager/Controller

Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: Accountable and responsible for aspects of payroll process and other functions within the Finance Department. Contacts and assists employees in process of obtaining information for payroll production and tax related issues; verifies totals, responds to and resolves employee questions and problems and delivers quality customer service.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Assist in the compilation of payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, insurance and 401(k) deductions.

  2. Poll electronic time clocks (ABI Software) and review the downloaded information for completeness and accuracy.

  3. Assist in contacting various department supervisors for any missed times.

  4. Assist in the collection of management reports from reporting software.

  5. Process a payroll run for hourly, salary or player payroll when needed.

  6. Perform reviews to ensure accuracy of payroll runs.

  7. Assist the accounting department in a variety of day-to-day activities and serve as primary back-up for key functions within the department. Be versatile to carry out duties related to a variety of accounting functions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED (EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS):

  1. 2-3 years of payroll processing experience.

  2. Experience with general financial accounting rules and regulations.

  3. Business degree or equivalent work experience.

  4. Experience with multi-jurisdictional payroll preferred.

  5. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  6. Experience with other Microsoft products including Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains.   

  7. Experience with Interlogic Outsourcing, Inc payroll software (or similar) and ABI payroll preferred.

Red Coater Liaison/Community Outreach Administrative Assistant - Kansas City Chiefs (Kansas City, MO)

Position Profile: Red Coater Liaison / Community Outreach Administrative Assistant

Department: Community Relations

Reports to: Community Outreach Coordinator

Status: Part-Time

JOB SUMMARY: Coordinate and execute outreach activities, with an emphasis on the Chiefs Red Coaters, which support the primary community directives established by KC Chiefs and Community Relations leadership staff.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Coordinate and assist in all aspects of the Chiefs Red Coaters community service outreach programs.

  2. Manage all internal and external communications for community service outreach programs for the Chiefs Red Coaters.

  3. Serve as liaison for the Red Coaters group to the Chiefs and act as advisor to the leadership team and the group at their annual meeting.

  4. Plan and execute all events associated with the Red Coaters, including annual events such as Away Game Trip, Watch Party, Stadium Tour, etc.

  5. Lead the Red Coaters in every aspect of their game day activities, including check-in and placement.

  6. Work under the direction of Community Relations leadership for the successful creation, planning and execution of Community outreach platforms and programs associated with the Kansas City Chiefs community outreach objectives.

  7. Work and collaborate with entire community outreach, charitable giving and other departments for the successful integration, collaboration and execution of Kansas City Chiefs departmental programs.

  8. Will be required to assist other departments for organizational wide community outreach and business initiative objectives (Chiefs Charity Game, Chiefs Kickoff Luncheon, 101 Awards, Arrowhead Art Collection, Chiefs Sports Lab, Play 60, Chiefs Ambassadors, Youth Football, etc.)

  1. Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college/university or equivalent business experience preferred.

  2. Exceptional organizational skills.

  3. Strong written and oral communication skills.

  4. Experience in event coordination or management preferred

  5. One or more years of Community Relations experience preferred.

  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
