Facility Operations/Security: Event Guest Relations
Director of Event Operations - Kansas City Chiefs (Kansas City, MO)

 

JOB SUMMARY:   Direct the operations of event activity at Arrowhead Stadium; Chiefs games and additional stadium events.  Develop and maintain process and procedure, deliver a safe, world class experiences at Arrowhead Stadium. 

 

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1.      Assist the Chiefs leadership in planning, directing and managing the day-to-day operations of all events in Arrowhead Stadium to include; football games, concerts and other sporting events.

2.      Lead and manage event day staffing (sourcing, hiring and training) for all events at Arrowhead Stadium.

3.      Provide guidance and leadership to the 24/7 building security department at Arrowhead Stadium, The University of Kansas Hospital Training Complex and all other Chiefs owned or managed facilities.

4.      Assist Security leadership with all security systems to include CCTV, access control, fire suppression & radio communications, etc.  Partner with Facility Operations for the management of contracted maintenance and upkeep of these systems.

5.      Develop and execute comprehensive operating and safety plans and processes for day-to-day and event-mode operation of Arrowhead Stadium that ensure the safety and enjoyment of all guests and employees.

6.      Lead and assist in the management of the parking and traffic operation; in conjunction with vendors and local authorities.

7.      Develop and execute comprehensive ingress and egress operational plans to ensure safe and efficient parking experiences for fans.

8.      Inspire, mentor and develop staff to deliver world class service in all aspects of the operation that delights and exceeds expectations of our guests, clients and partners.

9.      Direct the development of process and procedure for the event staff personnel policy, scheduling, hiring, training and recognition programs.

10.  Lead meetings as appropriate to review event and other activity with other department heads and key staff to ensure flawless planning and execution of all events.

11.  Develop, implement and manage departmental budgets.  Monitor and approve expenditures and implement adjustments as necessary while involving direct reports in the process.

12.  Direct development of management reports and tracking of key performance indicators.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED (EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS):

1.      Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience.

2.      Experience in a stadium is preferred, experience in a sports and/or public assembly venue is required.

3.      Strong leadership experience with a diverse set of reports to include full time, part time and event day staff.

4.      Experience writing and negotiating event contracts and/or license agreements.

5.      Demonstrated ability to develop, mentor and evaluate staff.

6.      Seven to ten years leadership experience in a fast-paced, high-volume, guest oriented operation such as a stadium, arena or theme park.

7.      Demonstrated ability for long range planning.

8.      Experience managing the operations of stadium events, concerts and sports events.

9.      Extensive experience and knowledge of audience control techniques and principles.

10.    Prior budget responsibility and experience required.

11.     Demonstrated knowledge of principles of operation of a public assembly facility.

JOB SUMMARY:          Establish the strategy and mission for Chiefs technology needs. Responsible for aligning           the technology vision with the overall business strategy to increase efficiency and      overall organizational effectiveness.

 ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1.      Develop and provide the strategic vision for the Chiefs organization’s technology; working directly with executive staff, football staff and ownership.

2.      Responsible for understanding all aspects of football and business to appropriately align our technology resources to achieve organizational goals; increasing brand loyalty, enhancing fan experience, using technology to create sponsorship opportunities and maximize revenue.

3.      Oversee compliance efforts, offering technology related solutions for league compliance requirements, PCI compliance etc. 

4.      Represent IT in all stadium technology planning meetings, league meetings, installations and enhancements.

5.      Research and maintain up to date on all IT advancements and options; working closely with business leadership and football leadership to ensure compliance and use of current software and technology.

6.      Manage existing and new stadium game day technology including football and business needs.

7.      Oversee and manage technology vendor and contractor relationships.

8.      Manage and control all department expenditures and departmental budget.

Manager of Game and Event Entertainment - Kansas City Chiefs (Kansas City, MO)

Job Description: The Manager of Game and Event Entertainment will serve as an associate to the Chiefs in-house production team.  The role will require collaboration with Chiefs Sr. and Lead producers and other depts. to identify and implement the strategy, execution, and management of the Chiefs in-game entertainment & Chiefs special events.  Job will oversee the relationships with several third party vendors that create the best game experience in the NFL. The role will work closely and collaboratively with multiple departments within the organization including partnership sales, marketing, digital and communications depts. to develop, execute, and implement best in class entertainment programming while stewarding the Chiefs brand and mission.  

Job Responsibilities:

Game and Event Entertainment Management

•    Lead in the overall production and execution of game and event programming

•    Manage all internal game and event entertainment related requests and deliverables

•    Assist with game and event entertainment budgets, invoicing, and event staff payroll

•    Develop and maintain strong relationships with talent, vendors, and agencies

•    Assist in the production of all Chiefs Special Events including Chiefs Draft Day events,

Kickoff Luncheon, College Football Games, Concerts, 101 Awards, and other special events.

Chiefs In-Game Entertainment Management

•    Develop an in-game entertainment program in coordination with the Production & Marketing departments which represents the Chiefs business strategy into a creative, exciting and engaging fan experience

•    Prepare, coordinate and activate in totality, the game day entertainment show format

•    Develop and write game scripts, manage game crew, book and organize in-game ceremonies

•    Supervise the hiring and management of all game day production staff. Provide training and instruction to assure execution of department’s goals

•    Manage field producers and assistants

•    Directly oversee execution of vendor, client, and guest production initiatives

•    Communicate production activities clearly to all departments, game day staff, and guests for every game throughout the year

•    Schedule and coordinate all rehearsals for all game day events including, pre-game & halftime, mascot skits, and special events

•    Serve as a liaison with Corporate Partnership department on planning, scheduling,

activation & fulfillment for all game and event entertainment initiatives

•    Assist with the development of engaging, fan-centric partner initiatives

•    Manage & track all signage, video and in-game inventory

    

 Additional Responsibilities

•    Attend various departmental meetings

•    Represent Chiefs to the NFL Events and Marketing Departments

•    Assist and lead Chiefs special events in multiple operating positions

•    Consult with other teams and NFL on best practices, trends and new initiatives
