Director of Information Technology - Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Tampa, FL)

The Director of Information Technology reports to the Chief Financial Officer   

Core Functions:

  • Analyze IT needs presented by the business/user community and recommend technical solutions
  • Strong staff development ability; builds organization where know-how is well-distributed and training and cross-training are both planned and prioritized
  • Ensure the security, consistency and maintainability of existing systems and network by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing and maintaining technical solutions
  • Evaluate all hardware/software/systems and maintain vendor contracts and support agreements
  • Communicate regularly with executive management on IT security, systems and best practices
  • Manage IT staff, including hiring, training, evaluation, mentoring, guidance, discipline and discharge
  • Develop and manage the financial planning for IT, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting
  • Demonstrate ROI and sound IT decision making in regard to IT acquisition and overall directives.
  • Consistently follows through and leaves internal customers informed on the status of their requests

Skills & Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of IT Management, project management, vendor management and Systems and Networking
  • Responsive and reliable when issues arise

Experience & Education

  • Bachelors’ degree in Information Technology/Information Systems or commensurate work experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT support, operations and engineering
  • 5+ years of IT management
  • Technical certifications – Microsoft, Cisco, VMware

Technical Knowledge & Experience

  •  IT Security and Compliance including HIPAA, PCI, ITIL
  • Thorough technical knowledge of network design, LAN/WAN, MPLS, Routing and Switching with specific knowledge of Cisco/Foundry
  • WiFi design and engineering in a large deployment capacity of more than 250 APs
  • Enterprise phone system administration, support and knowledge of SIP (Avaya system)
  • Point of sales, specifically Micros/Retail Pro
  • Webhosting and load balancing
  • ESX and VMWare
  • Customer Relationship Management software, specifically SalesForce.
  • TicketMaster/Archtics.
  • Cisco/FortiGate VPN, Firewall and network security experience.
  • SAN, including ISCI and Fibre attached preferably NetApp.
  • Video Conferencing, Telepresence, collaboration and Video bridging (Cisco)
  • Business information storage solutions
  • MS Office suite - Office 365 preferred
  • PCI risk management and mitigation
  • Apple device support
  • LogRythm – logging/scans
  • Video surveillance systems
  • Websense
  • Stadium infrastructure

Work Environment

The Company is a professional, fast paced, creative business environment.  Other environment conditions:

  • Extended evening, weekend work hours sometimes required. Required to work all home and many away games.  May have to work occasional holidays.
  • Stressful and demanding work environment in executing work on short deadlines.
  • Computer and desk work a significant part of daily activities.
  • Sitting, standing, working with hands for extended periods of time.
  • Rarely is lifting more than 20 pounds required
  • Travel is shared among the IT staff

Management Responsibilities

  • Working with the CFO, provide leadership, vision, and management to the IT department and ensure the overall department goals are aligned with company objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with internal clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative technology solutions and strategies.
  • Lend expertise to internal teams.
  • Employee is responsible for managing the department and directing the work of its employees.
  • Employee is also responsible for staffing the department and the management of employee performance, including hiring appropriate staff, conducting regular performance reviews and, if necessary, terminating staff in conjunction with human resources.

Street Team - Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Tampa, FL)


The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are seeking energetic, outgoing and passionate individuals to represent the club at home games, events, and appearances throughout the Tampa, Sarasota and Orlando areas. These candidates will be an integral part of all grassroots marketing efforts and brand building. This part-time, paid promotional position, aims to provide those seeking future sports employment with excellent resume-building, grassroots marketing and events experience with a professional team. This position is primarily responsible for making sure our fans have the best experience possible anywhere they go! 


TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but not limited to)

  • Set up, transport and operate fan-related interactive elements for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Tampa, Orlando and Sarasota-area events and Tampa Bay Buccaneers home games
  • Execution of the Kids Zone before all Tampa Bay Buccaneers home games
  • Raise brand awareness at grassroots events
  • Serve as a knowledgeable source on club news and happenings in the community
  • Represent the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and its respective partners/sponsors with enthusiasm, pride, passion and professionalism
  • Represent the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at football and non-football related events; such as festivals and community events throughout the Tampa, Orlando and Sarasota area year-round
  • Be engaged, interactive, professional, and lively at all times


  • Availability to work all 10 Buccaneers home games - full schedule available for review at
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Lively, out-going, positive, hardworking, and be willing to work in a fast pace environment
  • Prior promotional and marketing experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, NFL, Football, Raymond James Stadium and the Tampa Bay area
  • Excellent in communicating, engaging, and interacting with crowds and individuals
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to work flexible hours (including game days, weekends, nights and holidays)
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
