Sales & Marketing: Event Operations/Management
Events & Entertainment Manager - Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Tampa, FL)

This position reports to the Senior Manager of Events & Entertainment.

The Events & Entertainment Manager will manage all facets of planning, coordination, and execution of Buccaneers events. This position makes it happen, has creative and new ideas, and sees all the details. This roles ensures organizational and departmental budgets, deadlines, and goals are adhered to and will assist with management and direction provided to the event staff. The manager is responsible for creative concepts and the coordination of activities and will assist on various entertainment and game day event elements.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and drive the strategic event planning process to achieve quality event production, execution, and sustainability from start to finish
  • Function as a hardworking, forward thinking event planner for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • Collaborate with clients to add expertise and creative ideas to each event in line with their vision and objective
  • Manage, coordinate and oversee all event production, logistics and briefings for all events and appropriate parties involved 
  • Conceptualize and develop cutting edge, riveting and innovative entertainment elements and content for events and game days
  • Manage and guide the Events & Entertainment Coordinators with the overall planning, development, staffing, entertainment, and execution for all events, training camp and game days
  •  Ensure Buccaneers brand strategy integration across all platforms and related events & entertainment elements
  • Lead walkthroughs and meetings, conduct research, make site visits and find resources
  • Create event designs, floor plans/diagrams, rundowns, schedules, and timelines
  • Stay current on industry and entertainment trends
  • Brief featured guests, staff and event partners on event overview and logistics
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and complete files, records, and other documents relating to events, the department, or organization
  • Develop budget forecasts, manage budget tracking, purchase order processing, and reconciliation for events and the department
  • Assist with the management of conversion, event, and game day crews including hiring, training, scheduling and payroll processing
  • Complete a thorough wrap up of all elements for each event, including submission of an event debrief to document the areas of success and needed improvement
  • Assist in implementing event best practices and monitor compliance with operational policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with corporate partnerships to ideate and execute enriching partner activations for events & game days
  • Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Develop all layouts, credentials, processes, schedules, entertainment, and maps for Training Camp
  • Responsible for overall execution and budgetary management of Training Camp and the associated VIP days
  • Assist the Events and Entertainment Director with adjustments as it relates to the practice schedule, facility schedule, event schedule, set up and overall timing for training camp, events, and game days
  • Assist with the management of the Events & Entertainment intern
  • All other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality & Event Management, Sports Management, or related field preferred
  • At least four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in professional event planning and management, or sports management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations with professional judgment, discretion, and tact
  • The ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy & professionalism
  • A collaborative, innovative, resourceful, and durable work ethic
  • Strategic thinking and problem solving skills
  • The ability to effectively and professionally lead and be led
  • The aptitude to effectively create, revise, read, and analyze documents including budgets, invoices, spreadsheets, and diagrams

  • The ability to traverse the entire event area for the duration of the event from preparations to strike.

  • Must be proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Must be able to work flexible hours (including weekends, nights, and holidays)
  • Clean driving record

Seasonal Groundskeeping Intern - Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Tampa, Fl)

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Groundskeeping Internship is designed to provide work experience for current or recent graduates of an accredited Turf Management Program from June – August 2016.

This position reports to the Groundskeeping Manager.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in athletic field aerification, topdressing, vertical mowing, etc.
  • Assist in implementation of the athletic fields and landscape fertility program
  • Perform irrigation repairs and system maintenance
  • Assist in cultural practices necessary to maintain the grounds at the highest level possible
  • Assist with all aspects of field painting operations

 

Requirements:

  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to work 40+ hours per week as well as weekends and nights
  • Ability to lift/move 50+  pounds and be exposed to temperature/humidity extremes
  • Possess a professional and ambitious attitude toward learning and working in what can be a very demanding program

Notes:

  • This is a paid position which does not provide for housing, travel or relocation expenses
  • Preference will be given to those enrolled or recently graduated from an accredited turf management program
  • Meals provided most days while at work
  • Some team apparel provided

Staff Accountant - Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Tampa, FL)

The Staff Accountant reports to the Finance Manager.

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Generate sponsorship and other billings, including posting payment receipts to the accounts receivable sub-ledger

  • Follow-up with business partners related to outstanding receivables

  • Reconcile the general ledger with Ticketmaster on a daily basis

  • Prepare the daily bank deposit and process “other” credit card payments (except for parking, tickets, etc.)

  • Reconcile A/R and deferred revenue balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis

  • Post monthly revenue recognition journal entries

  • Prepare sales tax support schedules on a monthly basis during the season

  • Create periodic reports required by the NFL, management, and others

  • Assist with the assembly of annual audit requests and preparation of other agreed upon procedures reports

The ideal candidate should have:
