Football Research Analyst - Cleveland Browns (Berea, OH)

Job Description:

The Browns are looking for candidates with strong backgrounds in quantitative analysis and effective communication to join their Research and Strategy group. The Research and Strategy group works closely with the team’s scouting and coaching staffs throughout the season on projects related to football operations. Analysts will be responsible for research direction, study design, execution, and communication of relevant insights with department heads and team executives.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary analyst for football research projects impacting player personnel, player performance, and in-game decision making
  • Responsible for research direction, study design, execution, and communication of relevant insights with department heads and team executives

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or related field
  • Proficient in statistical software other than MS Excel
  • Familiarity with current football research

Video Intern - Highlights - Cleveland Browns (Berea, OH)

Summary:  

The Video Intern shall assist with the day to day operations in the Cleveland Browns Football Video Department with an emphasis on creating high-end highlight tapes

Requirements:        

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or required experience
  • Ability to operate a video camera
  • Ability to work 7 days a week during the season (nights/weekends/holidays)
  • Proficient Adobe After Effects
  • Experience in creating athletic highlight tapes
  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere or Final Cut
  • Experience with XOS and/or DVSport
  • The ability to act professionally and an understanding of the demeanor required to provide a reliable service to all members of the organization

Essential Functions:

 Filming Practice

  • Film drills and practices for the team
  • Operate a camera and film to the specifications of the typical sideline and end zone views
  • Operate a scissor lift and be comfortable filming from 30-60 feet in the air
  • Assist in the editing of practice drills in XOS

Game Day Operations

  • Assist in the packing and unpacking of game day video equipment
  • Operate DVSport Stillshot software
  • Assist in post-game player/coach tablet distribution

Team Travel

  • Assist in the preparation of meeting room supplies for both home and away hotels
  • Travel to all home and away games as a member of the team’s travel party

Highlight Tapes

  • Import and organize NFL Films game day files distributed by the NFL
  • Create weekly team highlight tapes that motivate and inspire the team
  • Use post production software to add effects and transitions
  • Possess the skills needed to quickly create clips for meetings requested by coaches
  • Candidates will be asked to submit highlight tape examples
