Community Relations: Community Relations
Social Impact Intern - Minnesota Vikings (Minneapolis, MN)

The Social Impact Intern will have the opportunity to gain first-hand experience executing the philanthropic mission for an NFL franchise.  In this role they will assist with all aspects of the team’s community relations, youth football, and foundation activities.  Areas of work will include events, programming, data management, and donor relations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Maintain relationships with past and existing donors for the Minnesota Vikings Foundation.  This would include email, written, and personal appeals.
  • Database administration for contacts and Foundation records will include data entry, fact checking, pulling reports, and maintenance.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments related to corporate donors, special events, marketing, legal, and finance.
  • Assist with a system for tracking and executing donation requests both for the team and Foundation needs.  This would include reports and inventory of signed memorabilia, merchandise, and cash donations.
  • Help with how the non-profit entity of the team solicits, processes, fulfills, and measures the impact of grant-giving.
  • Work with the events team to create fan driven opportunities to raise Foundation funds.  This would include assisting with traditional events such as the golf tournament and Taste of the Vikings while also brainstorming new ideas.
  • Activate fundraising activities at various community and team events (example – Chuck for Charity fundraising game).
  • Serve as a liaison and representative with community groups for team special events and game day events.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Recently completed or in final stages of a four year degree program.
  • A history of or desire to work in a department focused on community engagement and development.
  • Must have the ability to function in a fast-paced and multi-task environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills is required.
  • High character and strong work ethic.
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products.

  • Travel locally and regionally will be required for the implementation of community activities, events, fundraising, and programming
  • Maintaining a flexible schedule will be required as programming will often take place on nights and weekends.  Increased hours during the course of the football season is expected.
