The Minnesota Vikings are accepting applications for a Graphic Design Intern to join our Team for a full-year internship beginning in March, 2017.  This paid position is a part of our Marketing Team’s Offensive Line and requires skills in multiple aspects of design including print ads, direct mail, signage and logos.  To make the cut you must be proficient with the latest Adobe InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator (digital experience is a plus). You must be able to juggle multiple projects & prioritize your workload effectively to meet deadlines.  Copywriting, creative strategy & web design experience is a plus.

Photography Intern - Minnesota Vikings (Minneapolis, MN)

SUMMARY: The Minnesota Vikings are currently seeking a creative, highly motivated photographer with a passion for football.  The Photography Intern will assist the Team Photographer with shooting, editing, archiving, image sourcing and other hands-on events during the 2017 football season. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Photograph Youth Football, Community, and Stadium events
  • May occasionally shoot various team events, including practices and gamedays
  • Post game day photo galleries to the team website
  • Edit photos used on social media
  • Photograph fans and in-game presentation
  • Assist with photoshoots
  • Handle image sourcing / emailing internal & external photo requests
  • Assist Team Photographer with carrying equipment and extra gear
  • Assist with archiving of photos
  • Other miscellaneous gameday duties 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Photography or Photojournalism preferred, or currently enrolled as a student
  • Proficient in Adobe Bridge , Adobe Photoshop and Photo Mechanic
  • Demonstrated photography and photo editing experience
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism within a professional sports environment and in media work zones

Social Media Manager - Minnesota Vikings (Minneapolis, MN)

SUMMARY:   The Social Media Manager (up to Senior Social Media Manager depending on qualifications) will manage all Minnesota Vikings social media initiatives through planning, implementation and measurement phases.  This person will have an advanced working knowledge of social platforms, will work with key personnel to establish and direct the Vikings social media strategy with the goals of fan engagement, driving traffic to club content, creating partnership opportunities, maximizing exposure for marketing initiatives and creating unique and innovative content.  The Social Media Manager will also oversee the Vikings social team, which will be responsible for the organization-wide social strategy for all of the various club accounts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Direct all social programs relating to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, Pinterest, etc.

  • Work with appropriate Vikings staff (PR, Marketing, Football, etc.) to help guide presence and determine organizational “voice” on social networking platforms keeping fans up to date with relevant content; monitor such platforms for timely topics and negative buzz; demonstrate creativity in presenting Vikings brand on such platforms.

  • Evaluate and bring perspective to new social media platforms and present pros/cons of each technology in contributing to corporate brand/mission and revenue potential.

  • Work to creatate unique and innovative concepts/programs for each platform as they relate to gameday and offseason strategies.

  • Work closely with the team’s sales & marketing, community relations, public relations, ticketing, stadium ops, MVC (Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders), Viktor, Vikings Women, fan experience & merchandise sales departments to create and execute social media marketing, promotional and sponsor-related campaigns as needed. Create a company-wide social media strategy to be executed over each sub account.

  • Work with fan experience team, monitoring and responding to social media complaints, compliments and suggestions on gameday and other events. Assist with the creating and implementation of a gameday social customer service team.

  • Be involved in the planning and execution of Vikings social media efforts in a highly collaborative environment where collaboration is highly encouraged.

  • Assist Executive Director of Digital & Innovation with social implementation strategies for U.S. Bank Stadium and the Vikings mobile app, striving to find unique ways to enhance the fan experience (in-venue, app and online) through social media.

  • Maintain current knowledge of, conduct regular research on and monitor other social sites (both sport and non-sport) for latest social/digital innovations and technology.

  • Serve as main point of contact for NFL social team, staying current on all available social opportunities and new technologies.

  • Evaluate and recommend additional staff, create job description for additional roles, fill positions and manage these direct reports (current direct report: Social Media Coordinator).

  • Other duties as assigned.

Turf Intern - Minnesota Vikings (Eden Prairie, MN)

The Minnesota Vikings are accepting applications for a full-time (40+ hours per week) Seasonal Turf Intern for the football season of 2017.  The Internship will run from March 2017 to the end of the season (December or January of 2018).  This Internship includes all aspects of professional football field maintenance at the Viking’s Winter Park practice facility in Eden Prairie, MN, as well as U.S. Bank Stadium and may include projects at our Training Camp in Mankato, MN.  The scope of work will include, but is not limited to: sodding, mowing, overseeding, irrigation management, fertilization, field layout, painting and topdressing.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform landscape maintenance including; mowing, fertilizing, trimming, weed management, irrigation and pruning
• Operate small landscape machinery including lawnmowers, trimmers and other miscellaneous equipment
• General maintenance to landscape equipment – filling gas, change oil/fluids and adding lubricants
• May perform other facility and building maintenance as needed
 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Turfgrass Management preferred or related experience

  • Ability to work long hours including evenings, weekends and holidays in an outdoor environment is required

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and operate heavy machinery
