QUICK LANE BOWL INTERN - Detroit Lions (Detroit, MI)

Ford Field Management is excited to announce that we are now accepting applications for Quick Lane Bowl Internships.  This is a great opportunity to be a part of the 3rd Annual Quick Lane Bowl featuring the Big Ten Conference and ACC Conference at Ford Field this season.  

Quick Lane Bowl Intern

This is a Seasonal Part-Time position starting approximately Monday, December 12, 2016 through Wednesday, December 28, 2016.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Finalize details for Bowl Game events

  • Fill gift bags that will be provided to the participating teams

  • Assist with daily general office duties and operational needs of the Events department, including making copies, hanging of event signage and phone correspondence

  • Assist with setting up the logistics for events and transportation

  • Assist and prepare for all ancillary team/travel party events

  • Assist with Post-Game Trophy Presentation

  • Assist with pregame and in-game escorts

  • Assist in coordination of  game operations, school transportation, and on-site partner activation

  • Serve as Quick Lane Bowl liaison at team hotels

  • Social Media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) and Website Updates

  • Assist with other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States

  • Must be currently enrolled or recently graduated from a Sports Management, Sports Events Management program or related field

  • Must have previous Sports Events experience

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record

  • Must have good time management skills for managing various Event tasks

  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills along with great listening skills

  • Must be available to work ALL days from December 12th- December 28th, including December 24th and December 25th  

  • Must be able to climb stairs with the ability to lift and carry items

  • Must be professional, responsible and have proven ability in being punctual

  • Must have a “Can Do” customer service attitude

  • Must have the ability and willingness to take direction

  • Past experience with event coordination & coordinating groups of people is preferred

  • Past large event experience is preferred

Red Zebra Broadcasting, LLC , (a/k/a ESPN980) is a local DC sports marketing company and is searching for a student Intern currently enrolled at a local college and pursuing a degree and career in Accounting or Finance. This is a temporary, part time, nonpaying position and suited for an individual who wants to learn accounting basics in a professional fast paced work environment.

This intern assignment will qualify for college credit towards the completion of the individual’s degree. The number of credit hours depends on the College/University degree requirements. You will work directly with the Corporate Controller, Finance staff and Chief Financial Officer.

The purpose of this internship is to give college students an opportunity to learn and provide support in the day to day operations of the Marketing & Client Services department. Also, interns may also work with clients on day to day projects involving game day marketing campaigns and on-air advertising.

Skills and Abilities Required:

·         Applicants must be dedicated, hard-working, self-motivated and open to learning new skills through hands-on experience.

What you will learn:

The Jaguars are currently seeking an intern in our finance department.  As an intern in the Finance department you will learn the following skills:

  • How to work with daily cash deposits, cash receipts, and resolving cash receipt discrepancies

  • How the Accounts Payable department operates

  • How to perform general accounting functions

  • How to perform account reconciliations

  • How to gather information to compile monthly financials

  • How the month end close process functions

    The Production & Game Entertainment Intern will gain valuable hands-on experience while working directly with the Chiefs Manager of Production & Game Entertainment.  This internship provides the opportunity to interface throughout the front office (non-football) in areas including broadcast production, marketing, partnership implementation, customer relations, ticket sales and community relations.  Position will provide the unique opportunity to gain experience in both large scale entertainment planning and broadcast production.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The main focus for the fall semester will be game entertainment production both on field and on screen (ArrowVision) during each home football game.

  • Assist/plan/implement detailed and time sensitive game production plan.

  • Assist in communication with production guests including Hometown Hero, National Anthem, and Flyover participants.

  • Act as liaison and representative for the Kansas City Chiefs with all incoming Honor Guard and National Anthem performer inquiries.

  • Research different production and entertainment options when needed.

  • Track department’s merchandise inventory.

  • Organize all related ticket needs, requests, and distribution.

  • Assist with day to day needs of Chiefs in-house production team, 65TPT as assigned by Manager of Production and Game Entertainment.

  • Act as game day liaison and key implementation contact with game production guests as needed during pregame and halftime.

  • Request, manage and assist in delivery of all post-game wrap up materials.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead generation – researching key corporate partnerships prospects, finding high level contact information and following up with sales managers on these leads.

  • Monitor national, regional, and local sponsorship activity – stay current with new deals from other NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL teams and leagues as well as maintain an awareness of current climate in the national sponsorship space.

  • Current corporate partnerships support – assistance in activation of current partnerships, including ticket fulfillment, gift deliveries, entertainment tracking, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Donor Service Coordinator with new marketing initiatives to increase sales, including but not limited to: Social media, target marketing, in game promotions etc.
  • Help to create and implement new 50/50 Raffle sales strategies throughout the stadium
  • Problem solve and answer questions about the 50/50 Raffle from fans, staff and sellers
  • Assist Coordinator and Director of Special Events to manage more than 30 part-time staff including helping to coordinate setup, checkout, troubleshooting, sales, ticket distribution, etc.

Hours: Approximately 8-10 hours each Washington Redskins Home Game.

Redskins.com Intern - Fall 2016 - Washington Redskins (Ashburn, VA)

The Washington Redskins are seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual to support the Digital Media department as an intern, with the primary focus on assisting Redskins.com and related digital assets, for the Fall semester, 2016. Start/end dates for the internship can be negotiable.

The right individual must take great pride in their work and pay strong attention to detail. Applicant must have a strong technical knowledge of digital media and understanding of website standards and digital trends. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, while keeping organized and maintaining high standards in all work. Needs to be able to work as part of a team or individually. All candidates must be eligible to receive college credits.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide content to assist Redskins.com's operations, including: taking photos, uploading galleries and transcribing interviews
  • Support the team's digital media staff with day-to-day duties
  • Monitor social media accounts including those of the players and fans along with websites dedicated to the team
  • Support the execution of vision and strategy for best-in-class NFL club site
  • Create new initiatives-stories, blog posts, photo galleries - - that can be used on Redskins.com
  • Research ways to improve the design, navigation and fan experience on Redskins.com and other team microsites
  • Track and monitor website analytics and help find areas for improvement
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram and Snapchat
  • Assist with other duties as necessary

 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Detail-oriented and strong organization and project management skills
  • Polite, positive, self-starter who works well with others
  • Strong knowledge of sports and football
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Above average computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) are required

Requirements:

  • Must be able to receive college credit. Completion in course work in the field of journalism, digital media, mass communication or a related field preferred
  • Must provide own means of transportation to Redskins Park in Ashburn, Va., and FedExField in Landover, Md.
  • Interested applicants must be willing and able to work non-traditional hours in non-traditional settings during peak times
