SALES & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT INTERN – 2016 IN-SEASON - Green Bay Packers (Green Bay, WI)

The Sales & Business Development Department is responsible for generating revenue for the Green Bay Packers organization through the sale of corporate sponsorships and premium seating inventory (suites & club seats).

The department is also responsible for managing the relationships with corporate partners and premium seating clients.

Interns will be responsible for assisting the Sales & Business Development staff in day to day operations of the department. This includes, but is not limited to: client / partner relations, inventory management and the planning and execution of special events.

Timeframe: 7-8 months: July, 2016 – February, 2017 *

*Approximate timeframe. Slight flexibility with start/end dates based on school and team schedules. Official start/end date is subject to change and will be dictated by the Packers.

This is a paid internship and entails 40+ hours during the work week (Monday-Friday). Interns may also be asked to work nights, holidays and weekends as needed.

Attendance is required for all applicable home games, training camp and marquee events (i.e. Family Night).

Location: Internships are offered in the Green Bay and the Milwaukee offices. Please specify what office you would be interested in.

Job Responsibilities:

-Assist with day-to-day Sales & Business Development administrative needs.

-Prepare Sales & Business Development documents for clients. Examples may

 include: sales decks, proof of performance and activation plans.

-Join Sales & Business Development staff at select meetings with partners.

-Assist the Partnership Services team with fulfillment of corporate partnership assets.

-Assist with client hospitality on game days, training camp and special events.

-Assist with the coordination of various Sales & Business Development activities 

 during training camp, including, but not limited to: client hospitality visits, signage

 and sponsor activations.

-Assist with coordinating, planning, and executing special events. Examples include:

 Corporate Luncheon Series, training camp, 5K Run, Family Night, Festival of Lights, 

 player appearances and partner events.

-Assist with coordination and execution of Sales & Business Development

 game day elements. Elements may include: client hospitality,

 contests/promotions, client activations/displays, etc.

-Work closely with the Game Entertainment intern on coordination and

 execution of game day elements.

-Assist Sales & Business Development and Game Entertainment staff with

 promotions on and off-field on game days.

-Daily computer work, power point documents, spreadsheets, etc.

-Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

-Undergraduate degree (junior status minimum) in related field.

-Above average communication skills.

-Work/internship experience in sports marketing, game entertainment and/

 or events outside of classroom work.

-Experience (internship and/or part-time) with other sports teams is preferred.

-Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

-Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours, within a team environment.

The Jaguars’ internship program offers opportunities in the areas of football operations, athletic training, foundation, marketing, sales, business, finance and more.  Our internships offer meaningful educational work experiences designed to meet the academic and career goals of the intern.  Our management will teach and encourage, but it’s up to the student to bring an enthusiasm to learn.  Because internships at the Jaguars are learning experiences, they are unpaid.  However, the Jaguars will provide a scholarship to assist with the interns expenses while participating in the internship program.

Term:
This internship is expected to start in approximately June 2016 and continue through August 2016. 

What you will learn:

The Jaguars are currently seeking an intern in our finance department.  As an intern in the Finance department you will learn the following skills:

  • How to work with daily cash deposits, cash receipts, and resolving cash receipt discrepancies

  • How the Accounts Payable department operates

  • How to perform general accounting functions

  • How to perform account reconciliations

  • How to gather information to compile monthly financials

  • How the month end close process functions

  • How to research support documentation

  • How different departments operate throughout the organization

EligibilityTo be eligible to participate in the Jaguars internship program, you must be:          

  • Enrolled in an accredited school, college or university majoring in Finance or Accounting.

Position Description
USA Football has multitude of online coaching and player resources that are free or part of a membership program. The Video Production Intern is responsible for working as a team to create these video resources. Interns will learn video shooting, editing and animation techniques necessary to succeed in video production positions in a variety of industries. 

Skills Needed:

  • Shooting Video for interviews, on-the-field and in office training videos using DSLR cameras
  • Logging video Footage – Transcribing, Tagging and Archiving footage
  • Recording Audio – We currently use a Zoom H4n with Lavalier Mic, Boom Mic Operation is a plus
  • Editing video using Adobe Creative Suite with a focus on Premiere and After Effects
  • Adding Graphical Elements and Animation and Rendering out final Formats

Accounting Intern - USA Football (Indianapolis, IN)

Position Description
USA Football is seeking a highly motivated person who will serve as a summer intern for the Accounting team. The position will be responsible for assisting with Human Resources, E-commerce, Finance, general office logistics and various projects. 

Skills Needed:

  • Organizational skills including ability to handle a high volume of detail-oriented work; must be able to self manage and problem solve 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated teamwork and work ethic
  • Business or Accounting degree (recent grad or on course to graduate) or significant business coursework
  • Excellent level of skill in Excel
  • Experience with SAGE a plus

Specific job responsibilities include:

  • Special projects in finance and accounting
  • Help with accounts receivable, payable, internal auditing and vendor data
  • Organizational tasks, including filing and document management
  • Support payment processing
  • Data entry

Notes:

  • Familiarity with football, youth sports or coaching a plus
  • Internships 40 hours per week for 10-12 weeks
  • Interns receive a $775 monthly stipend plus parking allowance
  • Start and end dates are flexible but preference given to applicants that can start in May

Business Development Intern - Washington Redskins (Ashburn, VA)

The Washington Redskins are seeking a Business Development Intern to assist with sponsor research and sales strategy development during the spring 2016 semester. Candidate must be able to work a minimum of 25 hours per week and also may be asked to work extended hours during Washington Redskins special events.

 Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage and maintain lists and client databases
  • Research potential corporate partners and monitor industry trends
  • Assist in pitch preparation and development of sales materials
  • Assist with ESPN980/Redskins Radio sales materials
  • Assist in planning and execution of sponsor-related events
  • Assist with planning of 2016 Washington Redskins Training Camp sponsor elements
  • Interact professionally with both clients and fans

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to receive college credit (graduate or undergraduate) for the internship
  • Ability to commute to Redskins Park located in Ashburn, VA
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Above average computer skills in Microsoft Suite
  • Proven experience to appropriately work with and around confidential information
