The New Orleans Saints and Pelicans are looking for a very smart, analytical, dedicated problem solver to join our growing Business Analytics team and gain real-world experience with two professional sports franchises.  Enthusiastic, qualified applicants should be interested in learning first-hand about Ticketing, customer management, revenue maximization, database marketing and growth, and fan research, along with other project based engagements.  If you are motivated, bright, willing to work hard, looking to get your foot in the door in the sports industry, and think we’d be a good match for one other, we’d enjoy getting to know more about you.

The Business Analytics Intern will play an important role in CRM management, email marketing analysis, database cleanup and growth, fan research, and other projects with revenue-maximizing aims for both the New Orleans Pelicans and Saints.

Responsibilities:

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

•             Data crunching, data integrity, cleanup, standardization and acquisition

•             Develop research program for improved customer experience and database growth

•             CRM-based Email marketing, including list creation, management, and reporting

•             Ticket Sales and league-based reporting

•             Financial reporting

•             Food & Beverage, Merchandise reporting and analysis

•             Ad hoc Analysis, help support revenue maximization efforts

•             Assigning CRM campaigns

•             CRM sales rep support

•             Gameday box office support for big games

•             Analytical projects such as renewal scoring, yield analysis

•             Other projects as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA):

•             Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, computer science or a related field

•             Strong data analysis skills

•             Basic knowledge of relational databases

•             Working knowledge of ticketing systems and data structure

•             Demonstrated track record of detail orientation

•             Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Power Point

•             Strong ability to multi-task

•             Determined problem solver

Preferred Skills:

•             Experience with ticketing software, preferably Archtics

•             Experience with data querying language, especially SQL

•             Experience with customer relationship software, particularly Microsoft Dynamics CRM

Working Conditions:

•             Typical office environment

•             Must be able to sit and work at a computer 80% of the day

•             Must be able to get around arena to assist with surveying during events/gamedays

•             Working schedule/hours will ebb and flow with NBA/NFL schedules, and will include working some late hours, holidays, nights, and weekends

General Statement of Duties:

  • Develop Marketing Recaps of top 40 key sponsors for 2014 season.
  • Develop Marketing photo journal by sponsor summarizing all Marketing events including Game Day of 2014 season.
  • Assist in all mailings associated with suiteholders, club seat holders and season ticket holders in preparation for the 2015 season at Heinz Field.
  • Work directly with the Marketing staff in coordinating overall sponsorship servicing.
  • Assist in the execution of promotions and sponsor programs.
  • Assist Marketing Department with events such as the 2015 Steelers Fan Blitz in April/May and the 2015 Steelers Men’s Fantasy Camp being held on May 29 – May 31.
  • Assist Merchandise Manager with daily tasks.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by all members of marketing staff on a daily basis.

Compensation: This is a non-paid internship with the students earning three college credits towards their degree.  Steelers will work with college advisors to set up the program to provide college credit.  Intern must have reliable transportation.  This is a 12 week, 12 hours per week Marketing Internship.  The deadline for applying is Friday November 7, 2014.  Interviewing will be conducted at Heinz Field from November 19-21.

Position DescriptionUSA Football will host numerous events from January 2015 – June 2015 including national team events and youth development clinics. Position Description
USA Football (USAFB) will host the 2015 International Bowl this January Arlington, Texas. The International Bowl is an annual bowl series that features the top high school football players in the country—the U.S. National Team—playing against the Canadian National Team.

USAFB’s National Teams Department is responsible for selling game tickets and providing marketing support for the event. USAFB is seeking Ticket Sales and Marketing Interns to assist in those efforts. The Ticket Sales and Marketing Intern is responsible for promoting and selling the event while learning skills related to sales, marketing, and customer service. Interns will learn sales and customer service techniques necessary to succeed in marketing and sales media positions in a variety of industries. Interns will be trained on a CRM process and have the opportunity to make sales – an excellent resume-building opportunity. Multiple interns will be hired.

Skills Needed:
• Ability to represent USA Football, the International Bowl, and the United States of America in a professional, articulate manner; recognize member and customer needs; and sell products that meet their needs
• Organizational skills including ability to handle a high volume of detail-oriented work
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

The Washington Redskins are seeking qualified individuals to join the Suite Sales Department as a Business Development Intern for the Winter/Spring 2015 semester. The right individual will be able to work as part of a team or individually. Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to lead generation, data entry, internet research, and client services.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills required, both written and verbal.
  • Superior telephone manner and etiquette are necessary.
  • Above average computer skills including excel are required.
  • Superior customer service skills are a plus.
  • Proven experience to appropriately work with and around confidential information is necessary.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team and ability to take direction is a must.

Responsibilities Description:

The business development position is more along the lines of “prospecting” responsibilities – researching potential clients and writing up bio’s, help create sales presentations/compile pictures that the sales team will use when reaching out to new clients, keep and maintain game day/client notes that are archived in our CRM system, etc.

Time Requirements:

  • Full time is preferred (M-F). 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Also ability to schedule on 15-25 hours per week schedule; a schedule of Tuesday and Thursday 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with a half day on FRI (9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.) would also be considered (there is flexibility: for example, it could be Monday and Wednesday schedule); additional work required on weekends / nights contingent upon game and event schedule. (Note: Fall interns must be available to work on game days.)

Responsibilities List May Include But Not Limited To:

  • Create prospect lead lists.
  • Research and create biographies in Washington Redskins database for potential sales leads.
  • Research event attendees for Washington Redskins hosted events as well as events hosted by outside vendors that Washington Redskins sales people will attend.
  • Discover new prospects through Newspapers, Journals, Magazines, and Event Lists.
  • Help maintain and update current and prospective client database including personal and professional information.
  • Assist with the planning of and execution of Washington Redskins Suite Owner events.
  • Assist with the planning of and execution of Washington Redskins prospect attended events.
  • Create FedExField Suite presentations for prospects.
  • Help to maintain office organization with properly labeling folders and binders, contract distribution, updating necessary suite listing and availability charts.
  • Maintain and update the Suites/Hospitality memorabilia inventory storage room.
  • Attend networking events at Redskins Park and FedExField.
  • If necessary help with the execution of Washington Redskins home games or special events hosted at FedExField.
  • Help with the contacting of prospects to arrange and confirm meetings and/or event attendance.
  • Draft letters to company executives who view our website in order to follow up on their expressed interest.
  • Combine all created lead lists into the master lead list to ensure that prospects are always followed up with.
  • Help with answering the phone and taking messages while full time staff members are in meetings.
  • Students will use our Archtics program to assist with looking up client accounts for ticketing information and invoicing purposes.
  • Help with the FedEx shipping of client gifts, ticket packages, and memorabilia.
  • Assist in hosting prospect meetings at FedExField to allow individuals to visit and tour suites.
  • Help with creating mail and email merges in order to reach current clients and prospects.
  • Student will also help with researching contact information for any prospective clients or referrals.

Responsibilities, BUT may not be limited to the following:

  • Overall-lead generation, data entry, internet research, client services, and event planning.
  • Assist in the maintenance of Client Database that concerns our current and prospective clients, by updating personal and professional information - may be required to research contact information for prospective clients or referrals, using sources outside our internal database.
  • Utilize the Archtics Ticketing Program to assist in looking up current accounts for ticket-related information, invoice requests, contact information, etc.
  • Assist with the planning and executing of Washington Redskins Suite Owner and/or prospect events.
  • Maintain methods of organization and communication throughout the office, by properly labeling folders and binders, circulating contracts, updating the current suite listing/availability charts, etc.
  • Assist with the distribution of contractual gifts and update the Suites/Hospitality inventory spread sheet (reorganization of gift storage facility may also be occasionally needed).
  • Attend Redskins-related special events, including networking events, at Redskins Park and FedExField held throughout the semester (fall semester-expected to attend and help out during each home game).
  • Photograph and organize pictures taken at each Redskins-related event.
  • Call current and/or prospective clients to arrange and confirm meetings and/or event attendance.
  • Assist in answering phones and taking down messages at any point in time-especially when full-time staff are absent from desk/attending meetings, etc.
  • Utilize the Redskins' FedEx online account to create labels for shipping client gifts, ticket packages, etc.
  • Assist with creating and facilitating mail merges/blast emails to reach current and prospective clients.
