INTERN- Sales & Service - Detroit Lions (Detroit, MI)

Ford Field Management, LLC is Detroit’s premier sports and entertainment destination and is the game day home of the Detroit Lions.  Throughout the year, Ford Field hosts events such as concerts, motorsports, college and high school sports, high school and college graduations, and more.  Ford Field also has space available for conferences, meetings, and banquets.  Ford Field has hosted major events such as Super Bowl XL and the 2009 NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four.

Ford Field Management and the Detroit Lions currently have a need for a Sales & Service Intern.  This position is based out of the Ford Field stadium located in Downtown Detroit.  This position will report to the Director of Ticketing & Fan Engagement a short-term 40-hours-per-week paid internship that will run from August 2016 through mid-January 2017. Candidates must have the ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of this position which will include working major scheduled events on nights, weekends, and holidays. 

This Internship may require work out of both the Ford Field Management Office and the Allen Park Training Facility.

Candidates must provide own housing and transportation to and from Allen Park and Ford Field. Preference will be given to local candidates.

SUMMARY:

The Sales & Service Intern position is responsible for assisting in the execution of a year-round engagement program as well as carrying out daily functions of the Ticketing Department. This position will play a large part in the overall success in executing events, game day responsibilities, and analytical tasks as well as executing service related functions

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (including, but not limited to):

The Sales & Service Intern position will have daily responsibilities including, without limitation, the following:

Three core areas of responsibility:

  • Execution of premium hospitality programming and fulfillment

  • Engage in service and retention tasks to procure fulfilment of client needs/requests

  • Statistical and analytic support/research for the Business Strategy team

Assist the Ticketing staff, Guest Services staff, Premium Seating Sales Managers and Suite Services Managers to develop and identify integrated inventory management plans to maximize sales and revenue generating opportunities for all products

Manage, build relationship and execute service initiatives with MGM Grand Tunnel Club accounts

Assist Suite Services Managers with Suite ticket distribution.

Comply with all departmental CRM and guidelines to ensure information is accurate, deliverables are tracked and fulfilled, and account information is up to date

Support sales and service staff in game preparations and fulfillment, including pre-game field passes distribution

Assist in planning and executing Suiteholder events and functions, including but not limited to, Suite Tasting, Suite Administrator Party, Kids Clinics, Suiteholder Trips, and other special receptions

Participate in non-game day sales events, offsite meetings, sales booths. Including but not limited to, open houses, Training Camp, and Draft Day party

Provide administrative support as requested

Generate ideas to promote, sell and service season ticket members, group tickets and suite packages

Involvement in client service calls, customer resolution and client related fulfillment requests

Assist in the creation of reports, documents, and other sales/analytical functions mainly utilizing Excel and other ticketing systems

Strive to continuously build knowledge and skills of the sales profession and the Detroit market  

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assist in preparation of contracts and proposals and maintain all quote documentation with accurate pricing and configurations

Manage special projects creating, presenting and executing a strong strategic vision and will work closely with other business units to create synergy and promote integration

Participate in team meetings, generate meeting notes and provide communication updates

Maintain an appropriate level of knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and of web tools and software

Activity present and participate in technology based projects through utilization of Excel, CRM system and Veritix ticketing software

Must be motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Maintain professionalism when communicating with internal and external contacts

Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully and develop solutions quickly and effectively

Develop & maintain effective working relationship with clients, guests and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates must possess or be pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Communications, Sports Management/Administration, Hospitality, Marketing or related degree

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills along with excellent interpersonal skills with ability to connect with, and relate to, all levels of staff, management, clients, and vendors

Ability to multi-task and effectively adjust to rapidly changing market and business conditions

Team oriented attitude and approach, relationship building skills, and ability to maintain a professional demeanor and appearance

Strength in time management, administrative ability, organization, and customer service skills

Valid Driver’s License and a good driving record

Proficient computer skills including experience with MS Office products, including but not limited to Excel, Word, Outlook, CRM and the ability to learn new programs

Strong proficiency in Excel including experience with vlookups, pivot tables and general data manipulation while providing insight and solution based recommendations of the data

Working knowledge of sales and marketing techniques of entertainment venues preferred

Will adjust schedule as needed to meet work goals and time constraints, including working nights, weekends, and holidays as football schedule directs

INTERN- Events - Detroit Lions (Detroit, MI)

Description:

Ford Field Management and the Detroit Lions currently have a need for an Event Intern.  This position is based out of the Ford Field stadium located in Downtown Detroit.  We will be accepting resumes for this position until 11:59 PM on Tuesday, June 28th.

 

Summary of Position:

This position is responsible for supporting the Executive Director of the Quick Lane Bowl and Events and Events team with services directly relating to Events.  Work will include coordinating event services with other departments: operations, catering, marketing, parking, merchandise, premium sales, sponsorship, broadcasting, facility services, security, housekeeping, IT, etc. Work may be reviewed through oral feedback, throughout meetings and by evidence of event client and team member satisfaction.

Hours/Duration of Position:

This is a full-time internship working approximately 40 hours per week. The internship would begin on or around August 1st, 2016 and end approximately January 13, 2017. This position is based at Ford Field in Detroit, MI. This is a paid position.

Concerts & Major Events:

  • Assist the event lead for certain events, to work directly with the client (pre-determined by employer) and delegate all client needs to the appropriate departments as necessary. 

  • Assist the Operations Manager to supervise and coordinate operational and logistical elements for street parties that are held the day of the event. 

  • Grassroots marketing including social media (Facebook, Twitter & Instagram) implementation for various events as needed. 

  • Game Management liaison for major sporting events.  Assist with team bands, travel arrangements, equipment, practice, and game logistics.

  • Assemble décor RFPs for major events and negotiate pricing to determine the best candidate for bid. 

  • Signage – Ensure that all necessary signage is created and displayed for all major events to accommodate guests.

     

    Detroit Lions Events:

  • Training Camp – Assist in the set-up/tear down of equipment and activation of promotional elements

  • Detroit Lions Pregame Tailgates – Assist in managing operational and logistical elements for tailgates on Brush Street prior to Lions games. Includes chalking the street, determining vendor booth locations, making sure all vendors adhere to the NFL Best Practices and Ford Field guidelines, and maintaining a safe environment for all guests.

  • Promote and activate the Quick Lane Bowl trophy and tickets during Detroit Lions games

  • Assist visiting teams and Lions equipment team with load-in, and ensure all needs are taken care of until they depart the stadium.

  • Work with Operations team to secure and negotiate competitive bids for equipment needed for training camp and Lions games. May include bleachers, tents, golf carts, signs/banners, crowd barrier, portable restrooms, and all other items that may be needed.

    Quick Lane Bowl:

  • Create social media calendar and execute on all social channels while setting benchmarks to increase number of likes and followers

  • Create, manage and update content on Quicklanebowl.com

  • Organize and inventory all Quick Lane Bowl merchandise

  • Coordinate logistics with Quick Lane Bowl and the community: Detroit PAL and QLB Fundraiser

  • Game Management: Coordinate School bands practice, team equipment, game officials, gift distribution, signage

  • Take lead on one or more travel party/ancillary events

  • Work with the DMCVB to secure and sign up volunteers for week-of events

  • Secure and coordinate team late-night snacks including trade value, logistics and delivery to hotels

  • Coordinate team “Meijer” snack bags: secure quantities and payment of snack items

  • Encourage, promote and handle post-event merchandise sales 

 Other Duties:

  • Ensure that the Ford Field Event website is updated with all necessary event information: ticket information, parking/traffic information, entrances, etc.

  • Assist in Operations Center for Lions games, as well as other major events.

  • Analyze post event feedback from each event and determine which operational items can be performed more efficiently in the future.

  • Assist with daily general office duties and operational needs of the Events department, including making copies, filing, creation and hanging event signage, front office coverage and phone/email correspondence

  • Answer main telephone and transfer calls at the reception desk when asked to do so

     

Qualifications:

  • Strong guest service skills.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and guests.

  • Ability to work independently; to perform multiple, unrelated duties at the same time, and to organize work effectively and efficiently.

  • Ability to work with a flexible schedule in order to be available for scheduled events, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Communications, Marketing, Event Management or related field preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays required
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher, including Outlook, Internet Explorer and Adobe Illustrator)
  • Prior event management experience strongly preferred

POSITION SUMMARY

The Jacksonville Fan Experience Internship is designed to provide students with experience with the day-to-day operations of the Jacksonville Jaguars Fan Experience department. The internship offers students opportunities for professional development and practical, “hands on” experience working under the guidance of our Senior Vice President, Sales and Service.

The Jacksonville Jaguars (the “Jaguars”) are currently looking for a student to shadow the Corporate Partnerships department as part of the Jaguars internship program. Graphic Design Intern - Seattle Seahawks (Renton, WA)

SUMMARY
Provides support for the Marketing Department through the design of a wide variety of sales and marketing materials. Designs ads, flyers, and promotional materials for both print and web applications. Supports the designers within the Marketing and Corporate Partnerships group with production work and job/project management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Design marketing materials including but not limited to: flyers, advertisements, emails, logos, online advertisements, in-store graphics and promo items.

Position Description

USA Football is seeking a highly motivated person who will serve as a member of the Football Operations Team and work to improve USA Football’s education resources.  This may include the Heads Up Football program for both youth and high school, our coach certification courses and the testing of USA Football’s player development strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the Football Operations Department in the gathering of information that will support our comparative analysis to identify opportunities in the marketplace.

National Teams Intern - USA Football (Cranbury, NJ)

Position Description

USA Football is currently looking to hire multiple U.S. National Team interns that will assist with the recruitment of middle school and high school aged athletes to progress through the U.S. National Team program. Athletes who progress through the program will have the opportunity to represent the United States on the football field against international competition in events such as the International Bowl and World Championships.

Selected candidates will learn and execute sales processes from beginning to end. Selected candidates will learn how to generate and qualify leads based off of organizational needs. Interns will also gain exposure to different sales-marketing tactics to further promote Regional Development Camps.

Selected candidates will gain invaluable experience interfacing directly with customers (parents, players, and coaches) throughout athletes’ registration process. Once registered, interns will oversee an athletes’ post-registration engagement.

This role will also require candidates to manage the U.S. National Team’s CRM system, including the processing of player evaluations conducted on-site. Internships may include working on-site at Regional Development Camps and other USA Football events.

The Washington Redskins are seeking qualified individuals to join the Corporate Hospitality Department as a Client Services Intern. The right individual will be able to work as part of a team or individually.

·      Utilize the Archtics Ticketing Program to assist in looking up current accounts for ticket-related information, invoice requests, contact information, etc.

·      Assist with the planning and executing of Washington Redskin Suite Owner and/or prospect events.

·      Maintain methods of organization and communication throughout the office, by properly labeling folders and binders, circulating contracts, updating the current suite listing/availability charts, etc.

·      Assist with the distribution of contractual gifts and update the Suites/Hospitality inventory spread sheet

(reorganization of gift storage facility may also be occasionally needed).

·      Attend Redskins-related special events, including networking events, at Redskin Park and FedExField held throughout the semester (fall semester – expected to attend and help out during each home game).

·      Attend all Redskins home games – assist with game-day prep and visiting clients

·      Photograph and organize pictures taken at each Redskins-related event.

·      Call current and/or prospective clients to arrange and confirm meetings and/or event attendance.

·      Assist in answering phones and taking down messages at any point in time – especially when full-time staff are absent from desk/attending meetings, etc.

·      Utilize the Redskins’ FedEx online account to create labels for shipping client gifts, ticket packages, etc.

·      Assist with creating and facilitating mail merges/blast emails to reach current and prospective clients.

Time Requirements:

·      Full time is preferred (M-F).  9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

·      Part time availability would be considered for 20-25 hours per week; additional work required on weekends /nights contingent upon game and event schedule.  (Note: Fall interns must be available to work on game days.)

·      Must be able to attend all Washington Redskins home football games. Please note the following weekday games.

The Washington Redskins are seeking qualified individuals to join the Community Relations/Charitable Foundation Department as an intern.   • Superior telephone manner and etiquette are necessary

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team and ability to take direction is a must
