Season Ticket Service Intern - Atlanta Falcons (Atlanta, GA)

The Atlanta Falcons is a National Football League franchise dedicated to success on and off the field. Our Season Ticket Service team serves as a liaison between the Atlanta Falcons and our season ticket holders while ensuring the highest level of service is provided as it relates to renewals, retention, ticketing, finance, account management and game day activities and our fans.


We are looking to fill multiple internship positions as follows:
Fall 2014-beginning late July 2014 and ending mid-December 2014
 Spring 2015-beginning mid-December 2014 and ending May 2015
You must be available to work at least 25 hours per week on a consistent basis (and receive college credit) in order to be eligible for this opportunity.
Location: Georgia Dome, Atlanta, GA


Responsibilities:
• Enhance and maintain relationships with fans on the phone and in person.
• Answering incoming telephone calls, emails, and assists fans visiting the Ticket Office.
• Assist department with all projects that arise, varying in nature from mailings to game day and special events and data entry.
• Communicate team schedules, routine questions such as game day questions, upcoming promotions, and other season ticket holder benefit information as needed through email, mail and phone.
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve routine situations with guidance from Service team.
• Work with Ticket Sales, Ticket Operations and Dome Operations as needed to assist with execution of programs.


Required Qualifications:
• Ability to deliver excellent service to fans
• Strong written and oral communication, prioritization and organization skills
• Proficient with MSWord, Excel
• Ability to multi-task, problem-solve effectively and handle stressful and difficult situations

The Creative Services Seasonal Assistant position with the Atlanta Falcons will provide valuable insights into the inner workings of a professional sports franchise and the creative department that services the team’s needs. While participating as a member of the Creative Services team, the Creative Services Seasonal Assistant will be responsible for performing a wide variety of tasks including administrative, digital asset management, print and web design and production with a focus on presentation design. The Training Camp and Special Events Intern will be responsible for assisting with the day to day operations of the department, as well as set-up and coordination of special events.

INTERN - Media Relations - Detroit Lions (Allen Park, MI)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Detroit Lions currently have three internships available in the Media Relations Department. The Media Relations interns will assist in helping to streamline daily communications between the players, coaches, front office and the media.  

HOURS/SCOPE OF POSITION:

This is a full-time, 40 hour per week internship from mid-July 2014 through the end of the football seaon in January/February.  All applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes working nights, weekends, and holidays as the football schedule dictates.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Media Services

  • Assist reporters in obtaining interviews with players and coaches, and coordinate phone interviews.
  • Assist with weekly conference call with opposing teams.
  • Monitor practice to ensure media and spectators remain in appropriate areas.

Media Information and Publications

  • Assist in production of team notes and update statistics.
  • Transcribe quotes from press conferences and media sessions or for additional projects.
  • Assist with the posting and updating of information for the team’s media website, www.media.detroitlions.com

Team Publications

  • Write, research, and edit stories for Game Day program.
  • Assist in pagination and production.

Game Operations

  • Prepare game notes and league notes for press box.

Ford Field Management, LLC is Detroit’s premier sports and entertainment destination and is the game day home of the Detroit Lions. Throughout the year, Ford Field hosts events such as concerts, motorsports, college sports, high school and college graduations, and more. Ford Field also has space available for conferences, meetings, and banquets. Ford Field has hosted major events such as Super Bowl XL and the 2009 NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four.

Ford Field Management and the Detroit Lions currently have a need for a Broadcasting Intern. This position is based in the Detroit Lions Training Facility in Allen Park, MI and will also work at Ford Field in Detroit, MI. This position will report to the Director of Broadcasting & Production.


Summary:

The intern will have the opportunity to learn and assist with the day-to-day operations of the Broadcasting Department and will assist in the production of the Ford Lions Report television program and game day production at Ford Field. The intern will work home games on our production crew and gather material for the NFL Network.


Hours/Duration of Position:

Interns will work approximately 40 hours per week. The internship would begin in late July of 2014 and end at the conclusion of the football season. This position is based in the Detroit Lions Training Facility in Allen Park, MI and also at Ford Field in Detroit, MI. This is a paid position, but interns are required to provide their own housing and transportation.


Broadcasting Duties:

  • Assist in the set up and video taping of the Head Coach's press conferences on Mondays
  • Coordinate guests for team radio shows on Sundays and Mondays
  • Videotape, edit, and post multiple stories each day for the team website 
  • Prepare video tapes and shipping package for the syndication of the Ford Lions Report
  • Set up and maintain a current video library during the season for use with both the television show and game day productions
  • Assist player guests for the taping of the Ford Lions Report
  • Assist in videotaping postgame press conferences and player interviews for postgame shows and NFL Network
  • Coordinate with the NFL Network


Requirements:

  • The preferred candidate is in their Senior year or looking for experience immediately following graduation from a college or university with a degree in Broadcasting, Journalism, Film, Mass Media or related field

INTERN - Video Department - Detroit Lions (Allen Park, MI)

Summary of Position:

The Detroit Lions are accepting applications for two internships in the Video department. The Video Department is responsible for video footage which is used by the coaching staff, players, and personnel department at all practices and football games while ensuring the proper operation of equipment used.

The Video Department interns will have the opportunity to learn about and assist with the day-to-day operations of the department. The interns will gain hands on training and experience in camera work, editing, and light post-production work in a professional sports environment.


Hours/Duration of Position:

Interns will work between 30-40+ hours per week.

Please be aware that interns will not work the same schedule every day. Their hours will be scheduled around team practice. All applicants MUST be able to work a flexible and varied schedule which will include nights, weekends, and holidays. A typical schedule might be 9:30am - 3:00pm or 10:30am to 5:00pm.

Internships begin in late July 2014 and will end at the end of the football season in January/February. These positions are based at the Detroit Lions Training Facility in Allen Park, MI and will also travel to Ford Field in Detroit, MI. Internships are paid positions, but interns are required have their own housing in metro Detroit, as well as transportation to and from the Practice Facility and Stadium.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate third camera during practice, workouts, and special assignments
     
  • Download video (digitize or capture) onto video server, mark clips, and create sequences for viewing by the coaching staff, management, and personnel departments. This includes practice, workouts, and opponents footage
  • Assist in set-up of all video equipment utilized at hotels (away games only) and verify that all set-ups are operational for team meetings
     
  • On day of game, assist in set-up of video equipment used on the field (printers)
     
  • Assist in organizing prints during games (home and away) for coaching staff
     
  • Assist in maintaining video library
     
  • Other duties as assigned
     

Requirements

  • The preferred candidate is looking for internship experience during or immediately following their junior or senior year of college.
     
  • Applicants MUST HAVE prior experience in video for a college football team or previous video internships within the National Football League. This position does not involve any broadcast responsibilities such as post-production.

Description:

This position is based out of the Ford Field stadium located in Downtown Detroit.  The Human Resources Intern will have the opportunity to support a diverse range of Human Resources activities and have the opportunity to learn the many facets of Human Resources.  This position will report to the Human Resources Generalist.

Summary:
The Human Resources Intern will assist with many facets of the Human Resources Department, including providing support on recruiting, benefits, records, and employee services. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task.  The candidate will demonstrate maturity and ability to understand the highly confidential nature of Human Resources. 

This is a paid internship.  The candidate should be, but not limited to, a Junior or Senior level student pursuing a degree in Human Resources. 


Hours/Duration of Position:
This is a part-time internship from April through September 30th.  Candidates must be available for part of the day between 9:00AM and 5:00PM, 2-3 days per week for 15-24 hours per week.  Hours can be flexible to accommodate a student’s school schedule, however, all candidates need to be available for work until the end of September.

AV Production Intern - Fall 2014 - Kansas City Chiefs (Kansas City, MO)

This is an unpaid fall 2014 internship with 65 Toss Power Trap Productions, the in-house production arm of the Kansas City Chiefs, responsible for broadcast, episodic television programming, internet content, in-house company projects, spots, and the in-stadium show. The person selected will assist the department with a wide variety of audio and video projects. This intern must have audio/video production experience.

Our HD stadium and television shows, and new ventures in online video programming have taken on tremendous upgrades in philosophy and equipment, and we are eager to keep the ball rolling with young energetic, artistic talent thirsty for experience.  We give all interns real world, in-the-trenches experience, opportunities to enhance the department, and great referrals when we see them go.  Production intern will shoot video, log, archive, and edit football content and features, and assist in Arrowhead’s control room show.  This intern is a functional part of our team and must be coachable to learn proven award-winning philosophies in production.  Travel is sometimes necessary and always reimbursed.  Approximately 40 hours a week with flexible scheduling.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Produce/shoot/edit video elements to be used in-stadium, TV and/or Internet.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead generation – researching key corporate partnerships prospects, finding high level contact information and following up with sales managers on these leads.
• Monitor national, regional, and local sponsorship activity – stay current with new deals from other NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL teams and leagues as well as maintain an awareness of current climate in the national sponsorship space.

The Foundation and Development Intern will learn about multiple aspects of charitable giving strategy and operations from the Director of Foundation and Development and will also support other community efforts including the Arrowhead Art Collection.  The intern will gain hands-on experience in charitable functions of the Chiefs organization and the Hunt Family Foundation and will work closely with other departments to integrate those functions with overall organization initiatives and goals.  In addition to other tasks, the intern will assist in the development and execution of the Arrowhead Art Program educational programs. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Event planning support – assist with planning and execution of seasonal fundraiser including communication plans, event operations, publicity and support to event sponsors and attendees.
• Meeting preparation – assisting with the details in advance of Arrowhead Art Collection meetings, including room preparation, research, food and beverage support, etc.

Information Technology Intern:

The Information Technology Intern will assist in providing day-to-day computing support to the staff of the Kansas City Chiefs.  Duties include assisting with upgrades, configurations and migrations of office computers, providing helpdesk support for end users and troubleshooting computer networks. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Identify, research, resolve and respond to simple to moderately complex desktop, laptop and network issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic IT support requests using established processes and procedures.
• Install, repair, maintain and configure desktop equipment and printers in a network environment.
• Provide status and follow-up to staff requests in a timely manner.
• Computer inventory management.

Human Resources Intern:

The Human Resources Intern will directly assist the Human Resources Department with a wide range of projects related to HR compliance, recruiting, onboarding, and administration support.  This individual will also be responsible for assisting in the development and execution of various managerial projects and in the completion of all office duties as delegated by the Human Resources staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in the hiring and on-boarding process for Game Day Event Staff by preparing new hire paperwork, scheduling new employees for orientation, assisting with orientation, data entry, and file management.
• Conduct audits of personnel files and assist with department filing to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

KC Wolf Mascot Intern:

The KC Wolf Mascot Intern will be an integral part of our Business Operations Department assisting with scheduling community appearances, marketing KC Wolf in the metro area, and communicating information with clients.  This intern should be a highly motivated, energetic, and talented individual.   The ideal candidate would have prior experience performing as a mascot, possess excellent non-verbal communication skills, and have a creative and humorous personality.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Market and promote KC Wolf Appearances.
• Contact schools, churches, nursing homes, and day cares to schedule KC Wolf speaking programs.
• Assist KC Wolf at Chiefs events and other community appearances.

Marketing & Special Events Intern:

The Marketing Department is responsible for all brand building efforts for the Chiefs organization.  This entails developing key fan insights and translating insights into breakthrough fan engagement efforts.  These efforts may be through traditional media, new media, events, etc.  The Marketing and Special Events Intern will gain valuable training from the marketing and special events department as well as cross-departmental interactions on how to most effectively build a brand.

Production & Game Entertainment Intern:

The Production & Game Entertainment Intern will gain valuable hands-on experience while working directly with the Chiefs Manager of Production & Game Entertainment.  This internship provides the opportunity to interface throughout the front office (non-football) in areas including broadcast production, marketing, partnership implementation, customer relations, ticket sales and community relations.  Position will provide the unique opportunity to gain experience in both large scale entertainment planning and broadcast production.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• The main focus for the fall semester will be game entertainment production both on field and on screen (ArrowVision) during each home football game.
• Assist/plan/implement detailed and time sensitive game production plan. 
• Assist in communication with production guests including Hometown Hero, National Anthem, and Flyover participants.

As the Community Relations Intern you will develop and execute an effective, results-oriented community relations programs to maximize the impact that the Miami Dolphins have in the South Florida community. You will represent the Miami Dolphins Organization and Foundation and will be expected to continue to cultivate existing community relationships as well as develop new partnerships anchored in our four cornerstones: Volunteerism, Education, Youth Fitness and Health.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist the Miami Dolphins Foundation and Community Relations department on tasks to impact the local community like: 
1. Assisting in fulfilling external auction item and donation requests;
2. Provide event support at Community Affairs events;
3.Keep records of events like number of persons attending, locations, giveaways provided, etc. for yearly impact reports; 
4. Provides a high level of professionalism at all times while providing
extraordinary external and internal customer service.

2014 Fall Marketing Events Internship - Pittsburgh Steelers (Pittsburgh, PA)

2014 Steelers Marketing Events Internship

General Time Period:  Week of August 18, 2014 – Sunday January 2, 2015

 

Assist McDonald’s Steelers Kidzone Show – two interns needed for 8 tapings of Kids Show on Tuesday evenings for 5 hours each evening from 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm – 20 hours/intern – NO COMPENSATION FOR THIS ELEMENT.  

 

  • Responsibilities include working at the registration table in the FedEx Great Hall to monitor and collect waiver forms from every student attending each show – 2 people
  • Responsibilities also include working with the kids and their adult supervisors during all five segments of the show directing them accordingly.  Each show is thirty minutes in length – 2 people
  • Interns will also assist in passing out gift bags to all students upon leaving each show
  • There are two tapings per evening, one at 6:15 pm and one at 7:15 pm, with two schools visiting each school. 

FedEx Steelers Traveling Great Hall - Up to 8 visits dictated by sponsors to sites determined by sponsors on weekends from September 8 until November 14. 

 

  • Responsibilities include set-up (1 1/2 hours) and take down (1 1/2 hours) of FedEx Steelers Traveling Great Hall 53’ trailer.  TGH would be at the school site for approximately 3 hours.  Participants will be given the opportunity to spin the prize wheel and tour the elements inside the trailer.  Thus, each visit would entail a 6 hour day including travel time.
  • Total hours needed = 48 hours
  • Compensation would be $50/visit

Eight (8) regular season game day opportunities  - Assist staff to execute sponsor and guest pre-game field passes, seating in all of the Steelers Hospitality seating areas and any other game day Marketing responsibilities that may arise – “Whatever it takes to get the job done”.

  • Compensation is $100 for each home game.
  • Total hours needed for Game Days = 7 hours per game = 56 hours

Opportunity to work Marketing Events - Assist Marketing Department with events such as Gatorade 5K Race, 84 Lumber Family Day events, FedEx and Pepsi Kids Day events, Monday Night at the South Side events, 2014 Steelers Style weekend events, 2014 Steelers Ladies Night Out, Steelers Women’s 202 Clinic and any other Marketing events which may occur during the course of the season.

  • Marketing Interns are compensated for each of these events at a rate determined by supervisor.
  • Marketing Intern must work a minimum of 10 events during the season – average of 6 hours per event = 60 hours

Students must be enrolled in Marketing, Sports Marketing, Business Administration or Communications majors to qualify.  Steelers will work with college advisors to set up the program to provide 3 college credits for approx. 184 hours worked.  Intern must have reliable transportation.  Interviews will be conducted during the weeks of April 21 and April 28 at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh.  The deadline for applying is Friday April 18.

General Statement of Duties:

 Compensation: This is a non-paid internship for 6 credits.  The internship will run for a period of 18 weeks with an approximate work schedule of 15 hours per week (270 total).  The intern will be compensated for any events worked outside of the 15 hour per week schedule.  Steelers will work with college advisors to set up the program to provide college credit.  Intern must have reliable transportation.  Interviews will be conducted during the weeks of April 21 and April 28 at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh.  The deadline for applying is Friday April 18.

INTERN - Football Operations/Player Development (Off-Season) - The Detroit Lions (Allen Park, MI)

The Detroit Lions Football Operations Department is accepting applications for an off season intern for their department. The intern will support the Football Operations and Player Development with various administrative functions. The internship will be an opportunity for a Senior in college or Graduate Student to work in a professional setting to help further their understanding of professional sports.


Hours/Duration of Position

  • 20-40 hours per week from late April – late June. The schedule will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and hours will be dictated by the Football Operations and Player Development Department.
     
  • 40+ hours per week during training camp from late July to late August. During training camp, the intern will work seven days per week and will put in over 40 hours of work per week. Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays is required.

This position is based in the Detroit Lions Training Facility in Allen Park, MI. Candidates must provide own housing and transportation to and from Allen Park and to Ford Field. Preference will be given to local candidates. This is a paid position.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and illustrate graphic materials including logos, signage and website images
  • Assist with photo editing and manipulation of graphics for sponsor mockups and marketing presentations

Qualifications:

Strategic Marketing Intern-SUMMER 2014 - Washington Redskins (Ashburn, VA)

The Washington Redskins are seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual to assist the Marketing Department as an intern for Summer 2014.   • Manage social media content and sweepstakes for various Redskins digital platforms
  • Content Creation and Management: Manage monthly e-newsletters for fan clubs, help to build online presence including blogs and content for fan club websites (WOWRedskins.com, RedskinsKidsClub.com)
  • Database management for multiple fan databases and overall customer service; Will work with fan club members and parents in one-on-one situations to solve individual issues

     The Washington Redskins Communications Department offers season-long internships. The internships are designed for either undergraduate or graduate students and are unpaid positions. All candidates must be able to receive course-credit for the internship. The intern will have the opportunity to learn about the responsibilities of a National Football League communications staff while working as a member of the department and assisting in its day-to-day functions.
     Interns must be able to work extended hours including some nights and weekends. A background in public/media relations or sports management is strongly encouraged. Fall Internship Responsibilities (August – December)
