Culinary Intern - CenturyLink Field (Seattle, WA)

Summary:

Working beside professional chefs and culinary managers, the culinary intern is an integral member of the kitchen team and will gain hands-on experience in menu development, recipe formulation, facilities management, and the day-to-day operations of an active sports / entertainment kitchen. The intern’s time is split between hands-on kitchen work, procurement, and culinary-related administrative tasks. They assist the kitchen team by prepping ingredients, maintaining the kitchen space, equipment and supplies, and entering recipes into our recipe database. They also contribute to the creation of kitchen/ restaurant operations materials and creative culinary development and conduct research on ingredients, packaging, vendors, and concepts. Your internship will be guided under the tutelage of the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef or a Sous Chef employed by First and Goal Hospitality.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with culinary management on day to day tasks
  • Helps purchase, receive, store, prepare, cook and present food to specifications of supervisor
  • Exhibits and understanding of portion control and portion control practices
  • Learn to safely operate all kitchen equipment used in food preparation such as, knives, slicers, mixers, whips, warmers, steamers, etc.
  • Exhibit working knowledge of all health codes and sanitation regulations.
  • Assist with prep days before a scheduled event
  • Assist with Event Day and all duties that entails including but not limited to pushing hotboxes, setting up buffets, directing employees, running food or equipment and interacting with guests
  • Develop recipes and menu items independently for client projects. Includes food, ingredient and menu preparation
  • Responsible for managing your schedule, and knowing the kitchen production and client deliverable schedule
  • Assists in shipping and receiving ingredients
  • Assist in the creation of kitchen operations materials for client projects
  • Research ingredients, vendors, equipment, packaging, and restaurant and culinary concepts
  • Maintain cleanliness of work station, storage area and kitchen

Concessions Intern - CenturyLink Field (Seattle, WA)

Summary:

Under the direction of Concession management team, will assist with concessions and vending departments and its daily operations of CenturyLink Field.  Your internship will cover all areas of the public food service responsibilities and you will develop a keen working knowledge of how we operate in servicing 70,000 fans for a Seahawks game. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with staffing of concession stands which would include over 150 hourly employees, NPO groups and temporary labor to ensure the highest level of customer service.  You will be able to build a staffing matrix to ensure that we have the right number of staff to meet the demands of a variety of events within the Stadium and WaMu Event Center
  • You will learn and play an active role in the set-up and product deployment to ensure that each locations that will be open for an event will be ready to serve the guests.
  • You will learn and participate in our POS system to ensure that we have all items loaded to include recipes, opening and closing inventories and transfers for both pre-event, during event and post event.
  • You will work with our Vending department on the loading, staffing up to 80 vendors and event day operations of the vending team during a Stadium event.
  • Reviewing during the audit process sales accountability and accuracy through the nightly audit process
  • Working with an assistant concession manager to plan and execute events in the WaMu event center to include concerts, tradeshow and Seahawk/Sounders events. 
  • During your internship you will learn the reporting responsibilities after each event to include, sales, over/short, units sold per game, units sold per POS and report to senior leadership on the event profitability

Catering Sales Intern - CenturyLink Field (Seattle, WA)

Summary:

Under the direction of the Catering Sales Manager you will assist the department in developing relationships with confirmed clients and building a food and beverage program that will ensure to inspire our clients and their guests.  Your internship will cover all areas of food and beverage and you will develop a keen understanding of taking an event from booking to execution within a NFL Stadium environment. This also includes basic sales points, menu creations, forecast and billing, operational planning knowledge of Caterease system, effective client communication during event planning.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • You will work in conjunction with the building sales team and our Catering Food and Beverage sales manager on selling food and beverage programming for a multitude of events within the Stadium
  • Assist the Sales department with menu creation to meet the desired needs of each client.  Participate in client meetings throughout the event process
  • You will work closely with the Culinary team on menu development, costing and pricing
  • Learning and working with accounting procedures and the follow through with client billing , deposits, PO’S, and final payment
  • You will take an event and work with the Catering Event team to assist with event set-up, staffing, operating , tear down of event, and inventory
  • Develop effective tools and organizational time management
  • Work with multiple departments.

Summary:

Guest Services Intern - CenturyLink Field (Seattle, WA)

Summary:

The Guest Services Department at CenturyLink Field is seeking an intern to assist with all events at CenturyLink Field, including Seahawks games, Sounders matches, full-stadium concerts, concerts at WaMu Theater and trade shows.  The Guest Services team of 650+ employees staffs over 600 events a year, and we are looking for an energetic and organized individual who is looking to gain experience in the sports, entertainment and event business. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Include the following.  Other duties may be assigned

Seahawks and Sounders Duties

  • Work with the Director, Manager and Coordinator to prepare staff materials for Seahawks / Sounders events
  • Work with the Director, Manager and Coordinator to dissect all the information following a Seahawks game or Sounders match (i.e. Customer complaints, facility work orders/repairs, Human Resource paperwork)
  • Update the GuestLink binders and materials, including new stadium concessions, points of interest and protocols as changes occur
  • Update the Control Room binders and materials (This area manages all radio calls and dispatching to all departments on game day.)
  • Load ORCA cards with transportation reimbursements after each game
  • Represent Guest Services Management Team at Seahawks games and select Sounders matches, concerts and flat shows
  • Facilitate the guest Experience purchases on Seahawks gamedays from a Guest Services staff standpoint

Event Center and WaMu Theater Duties

  • Create staff resources and position maps for all Event Center and WaMu Theater events (including move-ins and move-outs)
  • Communicate event details to staff via email (or by phone as necessary)
  • Working with Labor Analytics Manager on staff positioning
  • Create miscellaneous staffing tools depending on event type and client need
  • Create ticket / credential boards for events as needed
  • Fill-in as acting manager for staff briefings and medium-sized concerts / events

Office Duties

  • Run staffing reports in ABI (stadium scheduling software)
  • Tracking of staff transportation benefits
  • Assists with miscellaneous projects as needed
  • Track field fund expenditures
  • Help facilitate and sit in on staff counseling sessions as needed

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree, or n school working towards a degree, or 1-2 years in a related field. (If in school, flexible hours are can be discussed)
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Must have good writing skills.
  • Must be able to establish solid relationships with staff and clientele.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

Provide input on and assist in coordinating design projects, including but not limited to:

  • Online programming

Project Coordination, including but not limited to:

  • Work directly with Production Manager to ensure best/most efficient timeline for projects
  • Make sure ads are to spec
  • Understand scope of all projects

The Production & Game Entertainment Intern will gain valuable hands-on experience while working directly with the Chiefs Manager of Production & Game Entertainment. This is a paid internship with Arrowhead Events, the in-house event sales department, whose primary focus is to sell non-game day events primarily within Arrowhead Stadium. In addition, this department creates and markets its own revenue producing events such as, the annual Chiefs 5k, the annual Fantasy Football Draft, a Wedding Open House, youth camp-outs on the playing field, etc. This sales department has made great strides in the run/walk, wedding, prom, holiday party and fundraising/gala event types that have resulted in solid revenue growth year over year. We are eager to keep the ball rolling, and focus more heavily on the corporate and association markets. The person selected for this internship will receive solid hands-on event sales experience focused on continuing these efforts and fulfilling the business plan objectives established for the department. The ideal candidate should have strong written and verbal communication skills; tremendous attention to detail; and some sales and/or event industry experience. We give all interns real world, in-the-trenches experience, opportunities to enhance the department, and great referrals when we see them go. Each Event Sales Intern will identify one project, from a list of priorities, and will focus on facilitating the project throughout the internship.  The project will be such that it will benefit the development of the department and allow the intern to “make their mark”. This intern is a functional part of our team and must be coachable. Local and regional travel is sometimes, although rarely, necessary and always reimbursed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

To further develop its Spanish-language content plan, the team is now looking to add a Spanish Content Intern.

Under the direction of the Director of Content and Director of Steelers Nation Unite, the Spanish Content Intern’s role will be to assist in the creation and management of various types of Spanish language content, including but not limited to editorial, social, graphics and audio/video.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Translate English language copy/editorial into Spanish

  • Author original Spanish language editorial content, which could include football stories, photo captions and social posts

  • Create multiple Spanish-language content types for social syndication including editorial, photos, video and graphics

  • Create or assist in the creation of Spanish language audio and video

  • Assist in management of the team’s Spanish content calendar

JOB SUMMARY

Throughout the season, this student will be able to gain experience by creating event materials, working on relevant projects, and coordinating with game day team members.

Summary:

Provides support for the Marketing Department through the design of a wide variety of sales and marketing materials. Designs ads, flyers, and promotional materials for both print and web applications. This is a part-time internship working approximately 25-30 hours per week. The internship would begin on or around April 24, 2017 and end approximately in late August 2017. This position is based at Ford Field in Detroit, MI.  This is a paid position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with daily general office duties and operational needs of the Corporate Partnership department, including making copies, filing, creation of signage, data entry and report generation into and from CRM,  front office coverage and phone/email correspondence
  • Assisting with the coordination of Lions hosted events such Draft Party, Taste of the Lions and training camp
  • Organizing and keeping inventory of our merchandise closet and helping with autographed merchandise
  • Event planning, production and execution for partner sponsored events and/or meetings including mascot, cheerleader, Lions legends and player appearances
  • Helping to create sponsorship proposals and advertising specifications for the upcoming season
  • Will assist with coordinating digital and social media, hospitality, and in-market promotions that pertain to partnership agreements
  • Helping to organize season tickets and sponsor game-day suites including tracking on spreadsheets, creating AP vouchers, and assisting with distribution
  • Assist with other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Business, Sports Management, Event Management or related field required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer) required
  • Experience with Adobe web elements (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) strongly preferred
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.  This includes the ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, listen and get clarification, as well as the ability to write clearly and informatively
  • Poise and the ability to present him or herself to others with professionalism and maturity
