Event Operations Intern - Dallas Cowboys Football Club-AT&T Stadium (Arlington, TX)

The Event Operations Intern is responsible for providing a standard of excellent service to internal and external guests and staff by assisting with the administrative support and day-to-day operations of the Event Operations Department – Guest Services, Event Operations, and Staff Relations. This posting is for a fall internship.

Summary of Duties and Functions

Game Day Staff:
• Assist in the collection, input and documentation of all required employee information for part time event staff. 
• Assist Coordinators with the management of employee uniforms/equipment and id-badges and maintain accurate records.
• Assist in coordination under Coordinators for the Employee Check-In area and uniform pick-up area.
• Assist with communications to Game Day Staff in preparation for Event Days.
• Assist with preparation of training materials for Game Day Staff Trainings as well as execution.
• Assist with preparation of stadium collateral materials.


Guest Services:
• Assist with Guest Services Function as it pertains to Lost & Found, Flag Flying, etc…
• Promptly respond to comments received from our guests in writing or over the telephone.
• Document guest contacts in GoalPost – Computerized database system.


Event Operations:
• Assist with the preparation of event materials for stadium events.
• Serve as event manager for special events as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned by Event Operations Full-Time Staff.

Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program with junior level status or higher.
• Previous experience coordinating events/programs preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with ABI Mastermind preferred.
• Able to work well within a team environment, offering assistance and support to team members whenever necessary.
• Able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Video Intern - Detroit Lions (Detroit, MI)

Summary of Position:

The Detroit Lions are accepting applications for two internships in the Video department. The Video department is responsible for video footage which is used by the coaching staff, players, and personnel department at all practices and football games while ensuring the proper operation or equipment used.

The Video department interns will have the opportunity to learn about and assist with the day-to-day operations of the department. The interns will gain hands on training and experience in camera work, editing, and light post-production work in a professional sports environment.

Hours/Duration of Position:

Interns will work between 30-40+ hours per week.

Please be aware that interns will not work the same schedule every day. Their hours will be scheduled around team practice. All applicants MUST be able to work a flexible schedule and varied schedule which will include nights, weekends, and holidays. A typical schedule might be 9:30am- 3:00pm or 10:30am to 5:00pm.

Internships begin in late July 2015 and will end at the end of the football season in January/February 2016. These positions are based at the Detroit Lions Training Facility in Allen Park, MI and will also travel to Ford Field in Detroit, MI. Internships are paid positions, but interns are required have their own housing in metro Detroit, as well as transportation to and from the Practice Facility and Stadium.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate third camera during practice, workouts, and special assignments
  • Download video (digitize or capture) onto video server, mark clips, and create sequences for viewing by the coaching staff, management, and personnel departments. This includes practice, workouts, and opponents footage
  • Assist in set-up of all video equipment utilized at hotels and verify that all set-ups are operational for team meetings
  • On day of game, assist in set-up or video equipment used on the field, for still shot.
  • Assist in maintaining video library
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • The preferred candidate is looking for internship experience during or immediately following their junior or senior year in college.
  • Applicants MUST HAVE prior experience in video for a college football team or previous video internships within the National Football League. Working with coaching video rather than post production type work is preferred.
  • All applicants MUST be able to work a flexible and varied schedule which will include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Applicants must provide their own transportation and housing
  • Knowledge of camera systems (ENG/EFP) and its operations preferred
  • Knowledge of video equipment (Panasonic HD) preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to reach, bend, sit and/or stand, climb or balance, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Ability to run with camera while shooting on-field drills

POSITION SUMMARY

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervises and assists in coordinating activities of concession associates on a per shift basis, including enforcing work procedures and service standards

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is and responsible for overseeing all aspects of Sportservice Catering, including origination to completion of game day and non-game day catering functions at Lambeau Field

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinate game day catering and ensures all Sportservice,  Guest Path, and Green Path policies are implemented
• Train, schedule, supervise and discipline all Catering staff
• Complete administrative duties, including but not limited to: creating and continuing client relations, communicating requests to back of house management, running deposit payments for upcoming events, and updating daily sales reports
• Maintain cost control efforts for labor and waste management through monthly inventory and daily constraints
• Inspection of cleanliness and quality of catering equipment and facilities used
• Set up, execute, and break down of daily events
• Coordinate staff and temps for set up, execution, and clean up of all events
• Stock essential items in storage units
• Communicate with Packers sales staff and Culinary department on all event and food needs
• Learn basics of food preparation under the guidelines of Health Rules and Regulations and gain insight into product ordering and specifications, create and use production sheets for upcoming events
• Enter contact information and orders into Delphi
• Learn to plan and execute meetings, parties, and special events
• Other duties as assigned

JOB SUMMARY: This internship provides an avenue to develop the individual’s skill set in a professional real-world environment while working under direct supervision of the Fan Insight and Analytics Manager. Experience will be gained in data insight and usage, email marketing and communication plans. AV Production Intern - Fall 2015 - Kansas City Chiefs (Kansas City, MO)

This is an unpaid fall 2015 internship with 65 Toss Power Trap Productions, the in-house production arm of the Kansas City Chiefs, responsible for broadcast, episodic television programming, internet content, in-house company projects, spots, and the in-stadium show. The person selected will assist the department with a wide variety of audio and video projects. This intern must have audio/video production experience.

Our HD stadium and television shows, and new ventures in online video programming have taken on tremendous upgrades in philosophy and equipment, and we are eager to keep the ball rolling with young energetic, artistic talent thirsty for experience.  We give all interns real world, in-the-trenches experience, opportunities to enhance the department, and great referrals when we see them go.  Production intern will shoot video, log, archive, and edit football content and features, and assist in Arrowhead’s control room show.  This intern is a functional part of our team and must be coachable to learn proven award-winning philosophies in production.  Travel is sometimes necessary and always reimbursed.  Approximately 40 hours a week with flexible scheduling.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Produce/shoot/edit video elements to be used in-stadium, TV and/or Internet.
2. Assist in the maintenance of Arrowhead Production equipment.
3. Shoot, log, and archive football footage.

Cheerleader Intern:

The Cheerleading Intern will gain valuable hands-on experience while working with the Chiefs Cheerleader Director.  This internship provides exposure to areas such as special events, merchandise sales and inventory, recruitment events, registration and youth programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The main focus for the fall semester will be home football games.
  • Organize Ambassador Cheerleader’s game day schedule.
  • Organize pre-game appearances.
  • Organize the Junior Chiefs Cheerleader Program and communicate information about upcoming events to members.  
  • Organize and communicate information about Spirit Day.
  • Keep track of calendar grid on inventory and credits.
  • Maintain Cheerleader appearance schedule.

Chiefs Alumni Relations and Youth Football Intern:

This internship will be composed of planning, coordinating and supervising the team’s youth football initiatives as well as its alumni activities. The intern will be expected to exercise proper initiative and judgment in the supervision of all youth football and alumni initiatives, as well as all other departmental outreach events. Outreach, marketing, communication, leadership and organization are all important elements within this internship.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, evaluate, and coordinate practices, games, and special events on the Youth Football Field facility.
  • Enforce safety rules, schedule field and assure compliance of insurance, health and safety codes.
  • Help facilitate the Chiefs Coach of the Week and Coach of the Year programs, as well as other youth football programing.
  • Help to manage and coordinate Chiefs Ambassador meetings, appearances and annual Ambassador Golf Tournament.
  • Assist in other alumni initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead generation – researching key corporate partnerships prospects, finding high level contact information and following up with sales managers on these leads.
  • Monitor national, regional, and local sponsorship activity – stay current with new deals from other NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL teams and leagues as well as maintain an awareness of current climate in the national sponsorship space.
  • Chiefs Gameday - Corporate partnerships fulfillment, VIP hospitality, sponsor entertainment and in game promotional assistance.
  • Current corporate partnerships support – assistance in activation of current partnerships, including ticket fulfillment, gift deliveries, entertainment tracking, etc.
  • Corporate Partnerships Coordinator support – when necessary, assisting the Coordinators in their needs to execute sponsor events, programs and hospitality.

  • Assist Customer Relations staff with written and verbal communications to Season Ticket Members and fans.

  • Provide prompt, accurate, courteous service to guests during an event.

Event Operations Intern:
The Event Operations Intern is responsible for providing a standard of excellent service to internal and external guests and staff by assisting with the administrative support and day-to-day operations of the Operations Department – Event Operations, Guest Services, and Game Day Employee Relations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of corporate and private events including event set-up and teardown.
  • Assist in the creation of event materials utilizing AutoCAD, Visio, or EBMS.

Information Technology Intern:

The Information Technology Intern will assist in providing day-to-day computing support to the staff of the Kansas City Chiefs.  Duties include assisting with upgrades, configurations and migrations of office computers, providing helpdesk support for end users and troubleshooting computer hardware and software issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor our Service Desk application for any and all incoming requests from our football and administrative staff.
  • Identify, research, resolve and respond to desktop, laptop and network issues in a timely fashion.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic IT support requests using established processes and procedures.
  • Install, repair, maintain and configure hardware (printers, copiers, mobile phones, etc.) and software applications (Microsoft, Cisco, Adobe, etc.) in a network environment.
  • Must possess understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office 2010/2013, and Malware/Anti-Virus tools.
  • Pursuit of an Information Systems or related degree is preferred.

Marketing & Special Events Intern:
The Marketing Department is responsible for all brand building efforts for the Chiefs organization.  This entails developing key fan insights and translating insights into breakthrough fan engagement efforts.  These efforts may be through traditional media, new media, events, etc.  The Marketing and Special Events Intern will gain valuable training from the marketing and special events department as well as cross-departmental interactions on how to most effectively build a brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Chiefs Kids Club – Work on our main youth initiative, the Chiefs Kids Club, including day-to-day operation of the program, grassroots marketing efforts, newsletter development and more.
  • Marketing – Experience will be gained in media promotions, marketing plans, fact finding, media buying, copy writing, fan experience and other areas of media, marketing & promotions.

Production & Game Entertainment Intern:

The Production & Game Entertainment Intern will gain valuable hands-on experience while working directly with the Chiefs Manager of Production & Game Entertainment.  This internship provides the opportunity to interface throughout the front office (non-football) in areas including broadcast production, marketing, partnership implementation, customer relations, ticket sales and community relations.  Position will provide the unique opportunity to gain experience in both large scale entertainment planning and broadcast production.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The main focus for the fall semester will be game entertainment production both on field and on screen (ArrowVision) during each home football game.
  • Assist/plan/implement detailed and time sensitive game production plan.
  • Assist in communication with production guests including Hometown Hero, National Anthem, and Flyover participants.
  • Act as liaison and representative for the Kansas City Chiefs with all incoming Honor Guard and National Anthem performer inquiries.
  • Research different production and entertainment options when needed.
  • Track department’s merchandise inventory.
  • Organize all related ticket needs, requests, and distribution.
  • Assist with day to day needs of Chiefs in-house production team, 65TPT as assigned by Manager of Production and Game Entertainment.

Sports Lab Intern:
The Chiefs Sports Lab powered by Blue KC is located inside the New Arrowhead Stadium featuring hands-on and computer interactive activities promoting the importance of being active in your daily life, good nutrition, and healthy living.  This internship will be composed of interacting with educators, youth and community groups within an educational setting.  Sales, marketing, communication and organization are all important elements within the internship.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with sales and marketing for the Sports Lab to potential groups.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of KC Chiefs Sports Lab Events.
  • Interaction with groups during their visit to the KC Chiefs Sports Lab.
  • Inventory and Organization of Sports Lab materials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Sports Lab Coordinator.
  • Reports to KC Chiefs Sports Lab Coordinator.

Stadium Facilities Intern:
The Stadium Facilities Intern will assist the maintenance and stadium operations departments with general prep and office work.  This individual will also be responsible for assisting with event preparations and green initiative programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with facility preparation and maintenance.
  • Assist with Stadium Operations personnel scheduling.
  • Assist with maintaining current equipment inventory.
  • Help manage events being held at Arrowhead Stadium on non-game days which will include event walk-thrus with clients.
  • Enter upcoming events into EBMS.

Premium Suites & Hospitality Intern:
The Kansas City Chiefs Premium Suites & Hospitality Intern will assist in all premium services, suites, events and hospitality areas for the organization.  The intern will gain hands on experience in professional sports business development and customer relations. In addition to other tasks, the intern will assist with maintaining current suite member relationships and hospitality programs, supporting the sales and prospecting process, and planning and facilitating VIP client events. You will acquire the ability to interact with key executives and decision-makers from prestigious local and national companies and learn the value of organization, communication and public relations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Current Suite Member Support – Assistance in maintaining current partnerships, including ticket fulfillment, gift deliveries, suite presentation, entertainment tracking, catering etc.
  • Suite Member Coordinator Support – When necessary, assisting the Coordinators in their needs to execute game day operations, special events, hospitality programs and all tasks pertaining to current client services.

Youth Football Internship

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization is seeking qualified candidates for our 2015 Youth Football Internship.  We are offering a full time, Fall internship to a highly motivated and committed individual wishing to build upon his/her college education with practical professional experience in the fast-paced, results-driven world of the National Football League.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers interns are given the unique opportunity to contribute to the organization's success while receiving an unparalleled, behind-the-scenes learning experience. Our internship program is comprised of a comprehensive and flexible strategy that allows recent graduates to build upon their educational foundation in order to define, evaluate and achieve a variety of career-related objectives.

Although interns will be placed within specific departments, they are able to explore all aspects of the business of professional football through various outreach programs, networking events, and both group and individualized learning sessions. Interns will learn from mentors and establish relationships with industry leaders that will benefit their lives both personally and professionally.

The 2015 Buccaneers Internship Program will begin in July and end after the last 2015 home football game. Interns are paid hourly in the program and work 40 business hours per week during their internship period. Interns are also expected to commit to the full term of the internship. Applicants must be able to work flexible and some unusual hours including nights and weekends for Buccaneers home games and other team-related events.

This position reports to the Senior Manager of Football Development

The Youth Football Internship position is responsible for:

  • Working closely with the Manager of Football Development to develop and maintain a consistent Buccaneers Youth Football Camp program for kids ages 3-18
  • Registering campers during youth clinics that occur around the region
  • Assisting with youth football clinics on gameday in the south plaza kids zone

Washington Redskins Cheerleader Intern - Washington Redskins (Landover, MD)

The Washington Redskins Cheerleading Department is looking for an Intern for Summer/Fall to help with daily tasks of the managing team. Duties include assistance with auditions, youth camps, registration, merchandise and daily tasks. The right individual will also assist with sponsors, events such as auditions, draft day, etc. Continuous responsibilities include monitoring the WRC website, Facebook, Twitter and updating contractual postings as needed. Candidates must be able to work Tuesday and Thursday afternoon into evenings, Wednesdays and some weekends.

Requirements:

  • Must be available for all Cheerleader special events 
  • Available to attend Cheerleader rehearsals Tues & Thurs evenings
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, including some nights and weekends during youth camps
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Current undergraduate or graduate student
  • Quick to learn new skills
  • Strong phone skills and confidence making cold calls
  • Outgoing with a take charge attitude

Public Relations Gameday Staff - Washington Redskins (Landover, MD)

Redskins Public Relations Gameday Staff Summary:
The Washington Redskins Communications Department offers public relations game day intern positions. The intern will have the opportunity to learn about the responsibilities of a National Football League public relations staff while working as a member of the department and assisting in its gameday functions in the press box at FedExField. 

A background in public/media relations or sport management is strongly encouraged. Candidates must possess strong written and oral communication skills.  All interns must be eligible to receive college credit.

Gameday Staff Responsibilities (All 2015 Home Redskins Games)

  • Assist with ALL preseason, regular season and postseason home games.
  • Facilitate various requests by media members for information, statistics, etc.
  • Assist in distribution of credentials and statistics.
  • Assist in transcribing and distribution of post-game press conferences and quotes.
  • Monitor player interviews.
  • Maintain the press box at FedExField, keeping it fully stocked with updated team information.
  • Prepare press box for game day.
  • Research statistical information for management, coaches, scouts and internal department as needed.

Gameday Staff Requirements:

  • Must attend ALL preseason, regular season and postseason home games.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Can work independently when given a task and have the focus to follow through & follow-up if problems arise.
  • Team player humble enough to handle a variety of tasks; no job beneath them.
  • Ability to interact with players, staff and the community in a professional manner.
  • Proven experience to appropriately work with and around confidential information is necessary.
