The Bengals have an internship position available in the Digital Media department. This is an hourly 6 month paid position starting in mid-July and ending in mid-January.

The position offers experience in the growing field of digital media and hands on experience in video production, graphic creation, and web design for Bengals.com and the Cincinnati Bengals' social assets. With digital media on the rise across the sports industry, this is a great opportunity to gain experience in a fast-paced NFL workplace. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produce video/audio content for Bengals.com and Bengals social media entities: interviews, press conferences, and video features
  • Assist with video production needs: lights, equipment setup, etc.
  • Conceptualize and execute graphics to be used on Bengals.com, social media, and e-newsletters
  • Photograph events for galleries to be posted or distributed through digital media
  • Edit article content for Bengals.com
  • Help maintain video database

Ideal candidates will meet the following qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of non-linear video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro) and Photoshop
  • Professional level video camera experience (i.e. Panasonic AG AC-160A)
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects from start to finish and meet deadlines
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional work hours (projects may require work outside of 9-5 from M-F)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and be a team player

Summary Description:

The Information Technology Intern is responsible for assisting the IT department with the organizations technical support tickets. This position will perform end-user support, new hardware deployment, and hardware/software troubleshooting. This is a 6 month - 40 hours a week position and will include night/weekend hours.

Intern, Social Media - Los Angeles Chargers (Costa Mesa, CA)

The Social Media Intern is responsible for assisting in social initiatives for the Los Angeles Chargers social media channels. This person will work with internal team members to help communicate and amplify the organization’s key messages on various topics via social media.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Assist with managing Chargers official accounts, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, SnapChat and Weibo.
  • Help with idea generation, content development, planning and scheduling for all social media platforms.

Partnership Activation Intern - Minnesota Vikings (Minneapolis, MN)

The Partnership Activation Intern will assist the Partnership Activation and Corporate Sales teams with planning and fulfillment of the Corporate Partnership agreements throughout the season. This internship is a full-time paid position. The hours will include regular office hours plus evenings and all home games. This position will start in June 2017 and will extend through May 2018. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assist the partnership activation and sales departments with certain aspects of corporate partner accounts. Work with partnerships staff as a team to fulfill special programs/projects.

  • Assist in monitoring and tracking partner branded content on Vikings digital and social media channels.

  • Assist the Marketing Department in preparation for upcoming games (i.e. set-up sponsor promotions as well as implement on game days).

  • Assist the Events Department with sponsor involvement and other aspects of special events.

  • Help collect, organize and maintain sponsor photos.

  • Assist with the sponsor recap process by collecting data and imagery throughout the season and compiling that information into professional presentations.

The Special Events Intern will play a role in planning for the logistics of both large and small scaled events for our Season Ticket Members, Corporate Partners, and Vikings Fans.  This position will be responsible for supporting the Events Department with the event activities and ensuring each event aligns with our brand and internal objectives.   The Special Events Intern is a full-time position that will begin in June, 2017 and work through the end of our football season in January of 2018. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Help plan and execute events for our Season Ticket Members, Fans, Corporate Partners, Youth Initiatives, Women’s Initiatives and Internal Vikings events
  • Assist the Events Team in developing a logistical plan prior to each event, including planning menus, preparing invitations, maintaining registrations, securing volunteers and helping with various other tasks associated with the event

Public Relations Internship Summary:

The Public Relations Intern will assist the Media Relations department in its day-to-day operations throughout the year in a variety of assignments.

Public Relations Intern Duties:

  • Compile and distribute daily news clips for front office personnel.
  • Record and transcribe press conferences and interviews.
  • Set up equipment for press conferences.
  • Prepare, write and edit materials for the media guide, gameday program, game notes and season in review.
  • Facilitate information between the department and design/printing companies for publications.
  • Write and disseminate press releases and media advisories as assigned.
  • Update the team’s roster files, player biographies, statistical information and cross-check statistics on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Distribute the daily media schedule to members of the department and ensure the Facilities Coordinator is aware of rooms being used.

  • Serve as the gameday sideline media coordinator, reporting all injuries to the Director of Communications in the press box for all home games.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The role of the Front End Development Intern is to assist and support the Steelers Technology Department in the maintenance and development of hardware, software and other systems. The intern will work with our applications developer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks and potentially how it works. Responsibilities for the position include assisting in the identification, research and resolution of user technology issues in regards to printers/computer/phones as well as assisting in the front end development of various in-house applications.

• Develop new user-facing features for in-house web applications.

• Build reusable code and libraries for future use.

Summary: USA Football is currently looking to hire multiple U.S. National Team interns that will assist with the recruitment of middle school and high school aged athletes to progress through the U.S. National Team program. Candidates will also be considered to work on-site at select Regional Development Camp locations & other USA Football events.

Seasonal Communications Intern - Washington Redskins (Ashburn, VA)

The Washington Redskins Communications Department offers season-long internships.  The internships are designed for either undergraduate or graduate students and are unpaid positions.  All candidates must be able to receive course-credit for the internship.  The intern will have the opportunity to learn about the responsibilities of a National Football League communications staff while working as a member of the department and assisting in its day-to-day functions.

The Washington Redskins are seeking qualified individuals to join the Community Relations/Charitable Foundation Department as an intern. The individual will have the opportunity to learn about the responsibilities of a National Football League Community Relations Department and Charitable Foundation by working as a member of the team and assisting in its day-to-day operations.

Internship Responsibilities

Assisting in the coordination and implementation of Charitable Foundation and Community Relations Department programs and events including, but not limited to:

·         Assist in the planning, coordination and promotion of multiple high-profile events including but not limited to the Redskins 56th annual Welcome Home Luncheon, the only time the entire Redskins organization gathers for a single event off the field and the Foundation’s largest event, and the Redskins Runway Show.

·         Assist with the development, marketing and promotion, and ultimately the execution of numerous fundraising initiatives including but not limited to the Redskins Breast Cancer Awareness t-shirt campaign and Redskins License Plate program.

·         Manage specific aspects of the Foundation’s 50/50 Raffle program during the planning process ahead of the 2017 season including but not limited to developing a marketing and promotion plan, hiring of gameday staff, coordinating with volunteer groups, and much more. 

·         Manage all event Silent Auctions including strategy development, marketing and promotion, and management of item procurement through relationship building with local businesses and organizations.

·         Aid the Development team in designing new communication strategies including but not limited to the Foundation’s social media presence (Twitter and Instagram) and e-newsletter platforms.

  • Support the Development team in the execution of Foundation sponsorship contracts including print advertising, special events, hospitality and in-game promotion.

·         Work directly with the Director of Special Events on business development.

·         Manage select event vendor relationships on behalf of the Foundation.

·         Write articles for team publications.

WRCF - Summer Programs & Training Camp Intern - Washington Redskins (Ashburn, VA)

The Washington Redskins are seeking qualified individuals to join the Community Relations/Charitable Foundation Department as an Intern. The right individual will be able to work as part of a team or individually. The ideal candidate must be able to receive college credit for a semester- long internship experience. This is a full-time internship (40 hours a week) that would begin in Ashburn, VA and end in Richmond, VA for Training Camp.

 

Overview of Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation and Community Relations Department

The Redskins Charitable Foundation is ever-present in the community, constantly working to achieve our mission to make a positive and measurable impact in the lives of children that need it most.

Since Redskins owners Dan and Tanya Snyder created the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation in 2000, we have given back nearly $20M to the community and currently provide support and services to more than 190,000 individuals (mostly children) annually, focusing on supporting education, children’s health and wellness and preparing them for their future. 

Internship Responsibilities

Assisting in the coordination and implementation of Charitable Foundation and Community Relations Department programs and events including, but not limited to:

  • Special Event Assistance – Support entire department around summer special events, including Redskins Back to School Fair and Special Olympics Flag Football Season Opener
  • Training Camp – Assist in the planning and execution of Training Camp Special Events, including Kids Day, Redskins Flag Football Clinic and Mom’s Clinic. Other Training Camp duties include:
    • Hosting WRCF guests and sponsors in VIP hospitality area
    • Scheduling of local youth groups to attend open practice days
    • Coordinating other daily training camp Community Relations and Charitable events as needed
  • Research Projects – Assist with researching various youth programs and potential non-profit partners throughout the DC Metro Area.
  • Social Media Assistance – Create thoughtful and engaging posts for the Redskins Charitable Foundation’s Twitter and Instagram accounts
  • 2017 Pre-Season Home Games Responsibility – Assist at home pre-season games for the Redskins Charitable Foundation, duties could include coordinating youth teams or organizations, delivering in-game fan packs, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Intern Candidate Requirements:

  • Full-time undergraduate/graduate student
  • Candidate MUST receive college credit in order to qualify for this internship – proof of credit letter from your College or University is required
  • Polite, positive, self-starter who works well with others
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Strong writing skills – writing sample may be required
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Can work independently when given a task and have the focus to follow through & follow-up if problems arise
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite proficient)
  • Proactive in asking questions when needed
  • Team player, humble enough to handle a variety of tasks; no job beneath them
  • Ability to handle physical requirements of job including setting up equipment for events and other light to medium lifting

Strategic Marketing Intern - Summer 2017 - Washington Redskins (Ashburn, VA)

The Washington Redskins are seeking Strategic Marketing interns to assist with sponsor sales and research during the 2017 summer.

This individual will have the opportunity to learn about the responsibilities of a National Football League Marketing Department by working as a member of the strategic marketing team and supporting in its day-to-day operations.

It is preferable that the intern is able to start on or around May 15, 2017. Opportunity to stay on-board through fall 2017 is also available.

Job responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

·         Support the strategic marketing team in a variety of projects

·         Assist in pitch preparation for the sales team as well as other research/strategic planning projects

·         Utilize Nielsen Scarborough and other research outlets to incorporate into pitches (prior knowledge preferred but not required)

·         Maintain and continuously update the master pitch deck and inventory of all sellable sponsorship assets

·         Assist with any prospect/client-related matters that may develop over the course of the internship

Qualifications:

The Washington Redskins Communications Department offers summer, season-long and spring internships. The internships are designed for either undergraduate or graduate students and are unpaid positions. All candidates must be able to receive course credit for the internship. The intern will have the opportunity to learn about the responsibilities of a National Football League communications staff while working as a member of the department and assisting in its day-to-day functions. 

            Interns must be able to work extended hours including some nights and weekends. A background in public/media relations or sport management is strongly encouraged. Candidates must possess strong written and oral communication skills. The intern will be required to participate in a mandatory background check and drug testing at the beginning of the internship. 

Summer Internship Responsibilities (May – July)

  • Oversee the compilation and distribution of daily news clips.

  • Aid in facilitation and coordination of player and coach interviews.
