INTERN - Video Department - Detroit Lions (Allen Park, MI)

Summary of Position:

The Detroit Lions are accepting applications for an internship in the Video department. The Video Department is responsible for video footage which is used by the coaching staff, players, and personnel department at all practices and football games while ensuring the proper operation of equipment used.

The Video Department intern will have the opportunity to learn about and assist with the day-to-day operations of the department. The intern will gain hands on training and experience in camera work, editing, and light post-production work in a professional sports environment.


Hours/Duration of Position:
Interns will work between 30-40+ hours per week.

Please be aware that interns will not work the same schedule every day. Their hours will be scheduled around team practice. All applicants MUST be able to work a flexible and varied schedule which will include nights, weekends, and holidays. A typical schedule might be 9:30am - 3:00pm or 10:30am to 5:00pm.

This internship will begin in February 2017 and will end at the end in August 2017. This position are based at the Detroit Lions Training Facility in Allen Park, MI and will also travel to Ford Field in Detroit, MI. This internships is paid hourly, but interns are required have their own housing in metro Detroit, as well as transportation to and from the Practice Facility and Stadium.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate third and fourth camera during practice, workouts, and special assignments
  • Download video (digitize or capture) onto video server, mark clips, and create sequences for viewing by the coaching staff, management, and personnel departments. This includes practice, workouts, and opponents footage
  • Assist in set-up of all video equipment utilized at hotels and verify that all set-ups are operational for team meetings
  • On day of game, assist in set-up of video equipment used on the field  and coaches booth (Still shot system)
  • Assist in maintaining video library
  • Other duties as assigned
     

Requirements

  • The preferred candidate is looking for internship experience during or immediately following their junior or senior year of college.
  • Applicants MUST HAVE prior experience in video for a college football team or previous video internships within the National Football League (Working with coaching video rather than post production/broadcast work).
  • Interns will not work the same schedule every day. Their hours will be scheduled around team practice. All applicants MUST be able to work a flexible and varied schedule which will include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Applicants must provide their own transportation and housing
  • Knowledge of camera systems (ENG/EFP) and its operations preferred
  • Knowledge of video equipment (Panasonic HD) preferred
  • Knowledge of either XOS or DVSport software systems preferred


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
     
  • Ability to reach, bend, sit and/or stand, climb or balance, kneel, crouch or crawl
     
  • Ability to run with camera while shooting on-field drills

INTERN- IT/Football Systems Support - Detroit Lions (Detroit, MI)

The Detroit Lions currently have two openings for a Football Systems & Business Support Interns in the IT Department. The Intern(s) will have the opportunity to provide first level support to internal and external Football Operations Staff.  Support will include system support, user support, testing, and/or documentation.

Hours/Duration of Position:

This Internship is a short-term 40-hours-per-week paid position that will run from February 2017 through August 2017. Candidates must have the ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of this position which will include working major scheduled events on nights, weekends, and holidays.

This position will be based at both Detroit Lions Training Facility in Allen Park, MI. and Ford Field.

Candidates must provide own housing and transportation to and from Allen Park and Ford Field. Preference will be given to local candidates.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Traditional desktop support, including computer hardware/software installations and repair & maintenance of computer systems, desktops, and peripherals.
  • Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or access by the end-users on the network.
  • Educate users on the basic functionality of software and hardware.
  • Investigate user problems and identify their source; determine possible solutions; test and implement solutions.
  • Respond to requests for techincal assistance in person, by phone or email.
  • Maintain and update computer hardware and software inventories on a regular basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an advanced curriculum relating to Information Technology.

Summary:  The Business Analyst works closely with the CRM manager and is responsible for analyzing, interpreting, presenting, and communicating data to enhance processes, decision-making, and outcomes for the Indianapolis Colts.  This new role will provide the evaluation and implementation of a broad range of strategic and financial initiatives that support all business units including ticketing, corporate partnerships, marketing, premium seating, digital media, merchandise, and finance.

Responsibilities:

·         Provide fact based, data driven guidance to the organization, working closely with IT, Finance, Ticketing, Premium Sales, Corporate Partnerships, and other departments as needed

·         Research, analyze and synthesize team and NFL data, and data external to the NFL, to glean the most impactful and useful information to aid the Club in achieving its strategic goals

·         Identify new KPIs, as well as help operationalize existing KPIs

·         Communicate findings to key stakeholders and senior leadership

Reporting, Analysis, and Research

·         Provide regular and ad-hoc reporting, including, but not limited to:

o   Executive summaries on revenues and other key performance indicators

o   Game Revenue summary (concessions, box office, retail)

o   Ticket sales: season ticket sales and renewals, performance vs. budget

o   Secondary market pricing

o   Corporate partnerships and suite sales and pipeline

·         Build out predictive models to drive sustainable business practices

·         Identify corporate partnership and media revenue opportunities via analysis of League and external reporting

·         Gather and utilize research to support analyses (i.e. partnership research and ROI analysis, game day research and event surveys)

·         Work with [CRM manager] to ensure club is capturing accurate data to support reporting, analytics and modeling

·         Assist marketing teams in analyzing data to identify trends and improve efficiency of marketing efforts

·         Perform complex financial analysis and modeling as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in a discipline with a quantitative focus, including but not limited to: Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Operations Research or related field.  Advanced degree is preferred.

·         Minimum of 2 years experience in data-driven consulting or analysis.

·         Experience in the identification and implementation of strategy through the utilization of KPI’s, operational insights, predictive modeling and research

·         Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and working with CRM manager to create organizational efficiencies

·         Strong technical skills, including experience working with data warehouses and data integration solutions

·         Knowledge of data structures, SQL and relational databases

·         Strong programming and analytical skills in major analytics software packages (e.g. SAS, SPSS, R, etc.)

·         Proficiency with data visualization tools such as QLIK, TABLEAU, DOMO or other similar tools

·         Deep knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

·         Ability to solve complex, analytical problems

·         Must be able to effectively work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate the ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and projects while keeping key constituents in the loop

The Washington Redskins are seeking qualified individuals to join the Community Relations/Charitable Foundation Department as an Intern. The right individual will be able to work as part of a team or individually. The ideal candidate will be able to receive college credit for a semester- long internship experience. Overview of Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation and Community Relations Department

The Redskins Charitable Foundation is ever-present in the community, constantly working to achieve our mission to make a positive and measurable impact in the lives of children that need it most.

Since Redskins owners Dan and Tanya Snyder created the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation in 2000, we have given back nearly $20MM to the community and currently provide support and services to more than 190,000 individuals (mostly children) annually, focusing on supporting education, children’s health and wellness and preparing them for their future.

 

Internship Responsibilities

Assisting in the coordination and implementation of Charitable Foundation and Community Relations Department programs and events including, but not limited to:

  • Assist with the planning and execution of weekly, monthly and annual Charitable Foundation and Community Relations programs that focus on education, health and wellness and community outreach
  • Tracking school participation of programs such as Redskins Read and Fuel Up to Play 60
  • Write articles for team publications
  • Local school and non-profit research
  • Creating social media posts for Redskins Charitable Foundation accounts, including Twitter and Instagram
  • Assist with donation requests including data collection and fulfillment
  • Fan Mail
  • Maintain knowledge of community relations activities within the football and sports industries
  • Other duties as assigned

The Washington Redskins are seeking a creative and qualified intern to support the Washington Redskins Graphic Design team by assisting in designs, development and production of creative projects and services.  This is an unpaid position and the ideal candidate will be able to earn college credits.


The right individual must take great pride in their work and pay strong attention to detail. Applicant must have strong understanding of graphic design tools and standards along with a strong sense of design style. A Graphic Design intern at the Washington Redskins responsibilities include the following:
• Design and layout a wide variety of print materials, such as newspaper and Gameday magazine advertisements, flyers, brochures, posters, postcards, direct mail pieces and invitations
• Design and illustrate graphic materials including logos, signage and website images
• Assist with photo editing and manipulation of graphics for sponsor mockups and marketing presentations
• Preparing files for proofs, print and final outputs
• File management and archiving and documentation of all sponsored and web initiatives for annual recaps
• Assist with preparation of projects including finding useable photos, scanning and photography
• Other duties as assigned
 
Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud
• Ability to work on both Mac and Windows platforms
• Excellent design skills and creativity
• Knowledge of production for collateral including resolution, sizes and file types, as well as scanning, pre-press and print production
• Understanding of photography and an eye for photos that will convey necessary messages for design goals
• Highly organized, motivated and able to prioritize and multi-task under the pressure of deadlines
• Ability to take design direction
• Excellent grammatical, spelling, proofreading abilities are preferred
• Some working knowledge of html, CSS and Flash is a plus

Responsibilities Description:

Time Requirements:

·         Full time is preferred (M-F).  9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

·          Part time availability would be considered for 20-25 hours per week; additional work required on weekends / nights contingent upon game and event schedule. 

·         Not required, but it would be a good experience for you to be able to attend our last home game of the season on:

o    Sunday, January 1st @1:00pm (Holiday Game)

Responsibilities List May Include But Not Limited To:

       Create prospect lead lists.

       Research and create biographies in Washington Redskins database for potential sales leads.

       Research event attendees for Washington Redskins hosted events as well as events hosted by outside vendors that Washington Redskins sales people will attend.

       Discover new prospects through Newspapers, Journals, Magazines, and Event Lists.

       Help maintain and update current and prospective client database including personal and professional information.

       Assist with the planning of and execution of Washington Redskins Suite Owner events.

       Assist with the planning of and execution of Washington Redskins prospect attended events.

       Create FedExField Suite presentations for prospects.

       Help to maintain office organization with properly labeling folders and binders, contract distribution, updating necessary suite listing and availability charts.

       Maintain and update the Suites/Hospitality memorabilia inventory storage room.

       Attend networking events at Redskins Park and FedExField.

       If necessary help with the execution of Washington Redskins home games or special events hosted at FedExField.

       Help with the contacting of prospects to arrange and confirm meetings and/or event attendance.

       Draft letters to company executives who view our website in order to follow up on their expressed interest.

       Combine all created lead lists into the master lead list to ensure that prospects are always followed up with.

       Help with answering the phone and taking messages while full time staff members are in meetings.

       Students will use our Archtics program to assist with looking up client accounts for ticketing information and invoicing purposes.

       Help with the FedEx shipping of client gifts, ticket packages, and memorabilia.

       Assist in hosting prospect meetings at FedExField to allow individuals to visit and tour suites.

       Help with creating mail and email merges in order to reach current clients and prospects.

       Student will also help with researching contact information for any prospective clients or referrals.
