Normal work hours: Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. However, this position requires a flexible schedule and the ability to work evenings and  weekends.                                                                                                                 

Responsibilities:

Provide editorial and multimedia support for the Team Media department from May through the end of the 2015 season:

  • Creating and publishing website content using NFL CMS, including, but not limited to: Daily stories, player bios and roster updates, game-day content, videos, photos, transactions, transcriptions and community events

  • Collecting player-related content, including, but not limited to: Q&As, new stories and features

  • Transcribing daily interviews from players and coaches

  • Contributing to daily content planning

  • Writing and editing features and news items for team publications, including Broncos Gameday and Broncos Magazine

Education and Qualifications

  • Current college senior or recent graduate in journalism, public relations, communications or similar discipline

  • Minimum of two years experience as a student working for a college newspaper, website, college sports information office or in a communications department of a sports organization

  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

INTERN- Football Education - Detroit Lions (Detroit, MI)

Description:
Ford Field Management, LLC is Detroit’s premier sports and entertainment destination and is the game day home of the Detroit Lions.  Throughout the year, Ford Field hosts events such as concerts, motorsports, college sports, high school and college graduations, and more.  Ford Field also has space available for conferences, meetings, and banquets.  Ford Field has hosted major events such as Super Bowl XL and the 2009 NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four.

Detroit Lions Summer Football Camps and Academies schedule feature 28 camps in 22 different cities, including five camps at Ford Field, three Moms Clinics, and a camp at the Lions Training Facility in Allen Park.  Boys and girls ages 4-18 are eligible to participate and will be grouped based on age and skill level. Camps are non-contact and designed to improve beginning, intermediate, or advanced skill levels.

Ford Field Management and the Detroit Lions currently have a need for Seasonal Football Education Interns.  This position is based out of the Ford Field stadium located in Downtown Detroit.  This position will report to the Director of Football Education.

Internship Summary
The Football Education Interns will be responsible for assisting the Director of Football Education in regard to all Detroit Lions Football Education Programs in particular to Summer Camps, Half-time Youth Football Games, 7 on 7 High School Passing Tournament, Coaching Academy, Mini-Clinics and Fantasy Camps.

The interns will be expected to exercise initiative and good judgment in regard to working with children and in all Football Education programs and football outreach initiatives.

 

Hours/Duration of Position
The hours for this position are 9:00AM - 5:00PM for the first 4 weeks and the last week and approximately 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. during the 8 week camp season. The interns will work an average of 8 hours per day. This internship is seasonal and would begin on Monday, May 11, 2015 and end on Friday, August 7, 2015. This is a paid position.

During football camps, interns will be required to work outdoors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Extensive involvement in the marketing, promotions and public relations of 2015 Detroit Lions Summer Football Camps via print, radio, social media, and grass roots methods
  • Planning, evaluation, and coordination of practices, games, and special events, including set up and break down of entire camp operation
  • Scheduling transportation and equipment distribution for events
  • Monitor the day-to-day operations of the field while ensuring requisite supplies are available during practices and games
  • Coordinate the daily on-site camp registration process, including but not limited to, check-in, waiver collection, t-shirt and name tag distribution
  • Enforce safety rules; notify proper personnel when field maintenance is required, and/or recognize any hazardous situations that would be reported to the camp director
  • Selling of merchandise, future camps and Cub Club memberships
  • Multimedia involvement including, but not limited to, video capturing and editing, video applications and photography
  • Assist with other duties as assigned


Ideal Qualifications:

This position is based out of the Detroit Lions training facility located in Allen Park but will require travel to Ford Field.  This position will report to the Human Resources Manager.
 

Summary:

The Human Resources Intern will assist with many facets of the Human Resources Department, including providing support on recruiting, benefits, records, and employee services. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task.  The candidate will demonstrate maturity and ability to understand the highly confidential nature of Human Resources. 

This is a paid internship.  The candidate should be, but not limited to, a Junior or Senior level student pursuing a degree in Human Resources or a recent graduate.

Hours/Duration of Position:

This is a part-time internship from April-September.  Candidates must be available for part of the day between 9:00AM and 5:00PM, 2-3 days per week for approximately 24 hours per week.  Hours can be flexible to accommodate a student’s school schedule.

GAME ENTERTAINMENT INTERN - Green Bay Packers, Inc. (Green Bay, WI)

Assist Game Entertainment staff in day to day operations as well as marketing events and game days.  This is a paid internship and entails full-time weekdays (40+ hours). The intern is required to work all home game (pre-season, regular season and post season).  Intern may be asked to work nights, holidays and weekends as needed.

Timeframe: May 2015 – May 2016 (twelve months)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with day-to-day marketing administrative needs.
  • Coordinate game day staffing of Pack Attack - the game day promotions crew.
  • Work closely with the Sales & Business Development intern on coordination and execution of game day elements and staffing.
  • Assist with coordinating, planning and executing marketing special events as assigned. Examples include Family Night, Draft Day, Pep Rallies, etc.
  • Assist Audio/Video Manager with various photo shoots, set-up and tear down.

POSITION SUMMARY

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervises and assists in coordinating activities of concession associates on a per shift basis, including enforcing work procedures and service standards

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is and responsible for overseeing all aspects of Sportservice Catering, including origination to completion of game day and non-game day catering functions at Lambeau Field

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinate game day catering and ensures all Sportservice,  Guest Path, and Green Path policies are implemented
• Train, schedule, supervise and discipline all Catering staff
• Complete administrative duties, including but not limited to: creating and continuing client relations, communicating requests to back of house management, running deposit payments for upcoming events, and updating daily sales reports
• Maintain cost control efforts for labor and waste management through monthly inventory and daily constraints
• Inspection of cleanliness and quality of catering equipment and facilities used
• Set up, execute, and break down of daily events
• Coordinate staff and temps for set up, execution, and clean up of all events
• Stock essential items in storage units
• Communicate with Packers sales staff and Culinary department on all event and food needs
• Learn basics of food preparation under the guidelines of Health Rules and Regulations and gain insight into product ordering and specifications, create and use production sheets for upcoming events
• Enter contact information and orders into Delphi
• Learn to plan and execute meetings, parties, and special events
• Other duties as assigned

AV Production Intern - Fall 2015 - Kansas City Chiefs (Kansas City, MO)

This is an unpaid fall 2015 internship with 65 Toss Power Trap Productions, the in-house production arm of the Kansas City Chiefs, responsible for broadcast, episodic television programming, internet content, in-house company projects, spots, and the in-stadium show. The person selected will assist the department with a wide variety of audio and video projects. This intern must have audio/video production experience.

Our HD stadium and television shows, and new ventures in online video programming have taken on tremendous upgrades in philosophy and equipment, and we are eager to keep the ball rolling with young energetic, artistic talent thirsty for experience.  We give all interns real world, in-the-trenches experience, opportunities to enhance the department, and great referrals when we see them go.  Production intern will shoot video, log, archive, and edit football content and features, and assist in Arrowhead’s control room show.  This intern is a functional part of our team and must be coachable to learn proven award-winning philosophies in production.  Travel is sometimes necessary and always reimbursed.  Approximately 40 hours a week with flexible scheduling.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead generation – researching key corporate partnerships prospects, finding high level contact information and following up with sales managers on these leads.
  • Monitor national, regional, and local sponsorship activity – stay current with new deals from other NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL teams and leagues as well as maintain an awareness of current climate in the national sponsorship space.
  • Chiefs Gameday - Corporate partnerships fulfillment, VIP hospitality, sponsor entertainment and in game promotional assistance.
  • Current corporate partnerships support – assistance in activation of current partnerships, including ticket fulfillment, gift deliveries, entertainment tracking, etc.

Information Technology Intern:

The Information Technology Intern will assist in providing day-to-day computing support to the staff of the Kansas City Chiefs.  Duties include assisting with upgrades, configurations and migrations of office computers, providing helpdesk support for end users and troubleshooting computer hardware and software issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor our Service Desk application for any and all incoming requests from our football and administrative staff.
  • Identify, research, resolve and respond to desktop, laptop and network issues in a timely fashion.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic IT support requests using established processes and procedures.
  • Install, repair, maintain and configure hardware (printers, copiers, mobile phones, etc.) and software applications (Microsoft, Cisco, Adobe, etc.) in a network environment.
  • Must possess understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office 2010/2013, and Malware/Anti-Virus tools.
  • Pursuit of an Information Systems or related degree is preferred.

Marketing & Special Events Intern:
The Marketing Department is responsible for all brand building efforts for the Chiefs organization.  This entails developing key fan insights and translating insights into breakthrough fan engagement efforts.  These efforts may be through traditional media, new media, events, etc.  The Marketing and Special Events Intern will gain valuable training from the marketing and special events department as well as cross-departmental interactions on how to most effectively build a brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Chiefs Kids Club – Work on our main youth initiative, the Chiefs Kids Club, including day-to-day operation of the program, grassroots marketing efforts, newsletter development and more.

The Production & Game Entertainment Intern will gain valuable hands-on experience while working directly with the Chiefs Manager of Production & Game Entertainment.  This internship provides the opportunity to interface throughout the front office (non-football) in areas including broadcast production, marketing, partnership implementation, customer relations, ticket sales and community relations.  Position will provide the unique opportunity to gain experience in both large scale entertainment planning and broadcast production.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The main focus for the fall semester will be game entertainment production both on field and on screen (ArrowVision) during each home football game.
  • Assist/plan/implement detailed and time sensitive game production plan.
  • Assist in communication with production guests including Hometown Hero, National Anthem, and Flyover participants.
  • Act as liaison and representative for the Kansas City Chiefs with all incoming Honor Guard and National Anthem performer inquiries.

The Stadium Facilities Intern will assist the maintenance and stadium operations departments with general prep and office work.  This individual will also be responsible for assisting with event preparations and green initiative programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Kansas City Chiefs Premium Suites & Hospitality Intern will assist in all premium services, suites, events and hospitality areas for the organization.  The intern will gain hands on experience in professional sports business development and customer relations. In addition to other tasks, the intern will assist with maintaining current suite member relationships and hospitality programs, supporting the sales and prospecting process, and planning and facilitating VIP client events. You will acquire the ability to interact with key executives and decision-makers from prestigious local and national companies and learn the value of organization, communication and public relations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Current Suite Member Support – Assistance in maintaining current partnerships, including ticket fulfillment, gift deliveries, suite presentation, entertainment tracking, catering etc.
  • Suite Member Coordinator Support – When necessary, assisting the Coordinators in their needs to execute game day operations, special events, hospitality programs and all tasks pertaining to current client services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with entry level ticket operations tasks.
  • Assist in processing and fulfillment of group ticket orders and over the counter purchase of tickets.

TIME FRAME: Duration of the Chiefs 2015 Training Camp (Late July thru Mid-August) on the campus of Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, MO.

DUTIES: The following is a general list of duties pertaining to the Training Camp internship.

Be currently enrolled as a junior, senior or recent graduate (within 6 months) from a four year college or university. Grad. school students are eligible to apply as well.

Intern Candidate Requirements:

  • Full-time undergraduate/graduate student
  • Candidate MUST receive college credit in order to qualify for this internship – proof of credit letter from your College or University is required
  • Polite, positive, self-starter who works well with others
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Can work independently when given a task and have the focus to follow through & follow-up if problems arise
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite proficient)
  • Proactive in asking questions when needed
  • Team player, humble enough to handle a variety of tasks; no job beneath them
  • Proven experience to appropriately work with and around confidential information is necessary
