SALES & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT INTERN–2018 OFF-SEASON - Green Bay Packers, Inc. (Green Bay, WI)

Location: Internships are offered in the Green Bay, WI and the Milwaukee, WI offices.

Reports to: Sales & Business Development Staff

Supervises: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective:

The Sales & Business Development Department is responsible for generating revenue for the Green Bay Packers organization through the sale of corporate sponsorships and premium seating inventory (suites & club seats). The department is also responsible for managing the relationships with corporate partners and premium seating clients. Interns will be responsible for assisting the Sales & Business Development staff in day-to-day operations of the department. This includes, but is not limited to: client / partner relations, inventory management and the planning and execution of special events.

The approximate timeframe for this internship is 7-8 months, tentatively from January 2018–August 2018. Slight flexibility with start/end dates based on school and team schedules. Official start/end date is subject to change and will be dictated by the Packers. This is a paid internship and entails 40+ hours during the work week (Monday-Friday). Interns may also be asked to work nights, holidays and weekends as needed. Attendance is required for all applicable home games, training camp and marquee events (i.e. Family Night, Draft Day, etc.).

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with day-to-day Sales & Business Development administrative needs.

  2. Prepare Sales & Business Development documents for clients. Examples include: sales decks, proof of performance and activation plans.

  3. Join Sales & Business Development staff at select renewal, recap and planning meetings with clients.

  4. Assist with client hospitality at events.

  5. Assist the Partnership Services team with fulfillment of corporate partnership assets.

  6. Assist with coordinating, planning, and execution of special events (Draft Day, player appearances, client events, and the 5K Run).

  7. Assist with the coordination of various Sales & Business Development activities during training camp, including, but not limited to: client hospitality visits, signage and sponsor activations.

  8. Assist with Family Night and pre-season home games.

  9. Assist Premium Seating team with Family Night ticket sales.

  10. Assist Game Entertainment department as needed.

  11. Daily computer work, power point documents, spreadsheets, etc.

  12. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Undergraduate degree (junior status minimum) in related field.

  2. Previous work experience in sports marketing and/or sports marketing events outside of classroom work required. Example: internship / volunteer time with a sports team or athletic dept.

  3. Internship and/or part-time experience with other sports teams preferred.

  4. Above average communication skills.

  5. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

  6. Must be able to handle various projects at one time while performing at a very high level.

  7. Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours, within a team environment.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  1. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

  2. Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time throughout the day.

  3. Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.

Graphic Design Intern - Los Angeles Rams (Agoura Hills, CA)

Job Summary/Purpose

 As the Los Angeles Rams build their organization and brand, they are looking for a Graphic Design Intern to assist the Rams front office in creating impactful collateral, social media content and other materials for all departments.

Applicant should have a degree in Graphic Design or a design related field, any additional years of experience are recommended. Must understand branding and be able to work with a strict style guide. Applicant must be able to work as a team in a fast-paced environment. Must possess strong organization skills, attention to detail, spacing, hierarchy and should be able to work under pressure on a multitude of tasks. All candidates must have substantial knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite Programs; Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. Some After Effects knowledge is a plus. Candidate must be proactive, creative and have a passion for design and sports.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

 • Produce website graphics and ads, email marketing materials and social media   graphics

• Designing promotional items (i.e., posters, print ads, postcards, brochures, etc.)

• Event support (i.e., invitations, signage, credentials, t-shirts, etc.)

• Learn and understand the brand to help create consistency and accuracy throughout the organization

• Ability to produce Corporate Partnerships creative that accomplishes the following:

Key Qualifications/Skills/Capabilities

 • Candidate must have strong portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual skills, creativity and visual communication skills.

• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite required (particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and lnDesign).  Also, knowledge of Adobe AfterEffects and Adobe Lightroom a plus, but not required

• Undergraduate Degree or equivalent work experience preferred

• Qualified candidates should have experience working in or having a passion for the sports industry

• Exceptional design aesthetic and awareness of design trends and innovation across a variety of static and digital mediums

• Experience delivering great creative while meeting parameters of existing brand guidelines

Special Events Intern - Minnesota Vikings (Minneapolis, MN)

SUMMARY: The Special Events Intern will play a role in planning for the logistics of both large and small scaled events for our Season Ticket Members, Corporate Partners, and Vikings Fans.  This position will be responsible for supporting the Events Department with the event activities and ensuring each event aligns with our brand and internal objectives.   The Special Events Intern is a full-time position that will begin in November, 2017 and work through August, 2018. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Help plan and execute events for our Season Ticket Members, Fans, Corporate Partners, Youth Initiatives, Women’s Initiatives and Internal Vikings events
  • Assist the Events Team in developing a logistical plan prior to each event, including planning menus, preparing invitations, maintaining registrations, securing volunteers and helping with various other tasks associated with the event
  • Assist with event-related communications as needed
  • Support the planning of pre-game hospitality
  • Work in conjunction with and communicate closely with Partnerships, Marketing and Design, Alumni and Youth Initiatives Departments
  • Assist with event logistics such as vendor load-in, volunteer check-in, signage, catering, partner activation, registration and hospitality

Turf Intern - Minnesota Vikings (Eagan, MN)

The Minnesota Vikings are accepting applications for a full-time (40+ hours per week) Seasonal Turf Intern for the football season of 2018.  The Internship will run from May of 2018 to the end of the season (December or January of 2019).  This Internship includes all aspects of professional football field maintenance at the Viking’s practice facility in Eagan MN and U.S. Bank Stadium.  The scope of work will include, but is not limited to: sodding, mowing, overseeding, irrigation management, fertilization, field layout, painting and topdressing.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform landscape maintenance including; mowing, fertilizing, trimming, weed management, irrigation and pruning
• Operate small landscape machinery including lawnmowers, trimmers and other miscellaneous equipment
• General maintenance to landscape equipment – filling gas, change oil/fluids and adding lubricants
• May perform other facility and building maintenance as needed
 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Turfgrass Management preferred or related experience

  • Ability to work long hours including evenings, weekends and holidays in an outdoor environment is required

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and operate heavy machinery

The planning and execution of private events serves as the main focus of the Corporate Events Intern.  This role works within the Club Events Department on event days to support staff in the stadium’s various premium spaces.  The student selected for this position must be a strong verbal and written communicator, as well as detail and customer service oriented to work successfully with clients and guests.

2018 Spring Internship Program - Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Tampa, FL)

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are offering full time internships to highly motivated and committed individuals wishing to build upon their college education with practical professional experience in the fast-paced, results-driven world of the National Football League.

Participants are given the unique opportunity to contribute to the organization's success while receiving an unparalleled, behind-the-scenes learning experience. The program is comprised of a comprehensive and flexible strategy that allows recent graduates to build upon their educational foundation in order to define, evaluate and achieve a variety of career-related objectives.

The Buccaneers Spring 2018 Internship Program will begin February 12th and end June 29th.  Interns are paid hourly and work 40 hours per week during their internship period.  Interns are also expected to commit to the full term of the internship.  Applicants must be able to work flexible and some unusual hours including nights and weekends for Buccaneers' events.

    Communications

    • The Communications Intern will assist the department in serving as a liaison between local, national and international media and members of the organization. Responsibilities include: compiling daily media clips and broadcast news reports to be distributed to executives within the organization, recording and transcribing player/coach media availability multiple times a week, assisting in coordinating media interviews for players/coaching staff requests during Organized Team Activities (OTA), assisting with the preparation of team publications such as the team yearbook and official team media guide.
    • Prior experience with sports information, public relations or communications on the team side is preferred.
    • A degree in Public Relations or Journalism is preferred.

    Community Relations

    • The Community Relations Intern will play a supporting role in the day-to-day operations of the community outreach department of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This individual must possess a passion for philanthropy and demonstrate a willingness to contribute to a variety of programs. Responsibilities include managing team donations, organizing charitable events and visits, preparations for training camp and the season, support for Affinity Group engagement and assisting with players’ charitable endeavors.

    • The CP intern will learn and assist with all functions of activating an existing partnership, from on-site programs, community relations sponsorships, branding, and event planning/management.

    Events & Entertainment

    • The Events & Entertainment Department seeks a driven individual passionate about event planning and game day entertainment to receive hands-on training in a live environment. The Intern will be expected to focus on, plan, and participate in all aspects of training camp, events, and game related duties as specified.     • The Groundskeeping Internship is designed to provide work experience for in athletic field aerification, topdressing, vertical mowing, implementation of the athletic fields and landscape fertility program, irrigation repairs and system maintenance, field painting operations, cultural practices necessary to maintain the grounds at the highest level possible.
    • The intern will engage in a very demanding program, must have the ability to lift/move 50+ pounds and be exposed to temperature/humidity extremes.
    • Preference will be given to those enrolled or recently graduated from an accredited turf management program.

    Marketing

    • The Marketing Intern will assist with the implementation of the annual marketing plans for assigned programs with a focus on increasing attendance and enhancing the overall fan experience. Other responsibilities include conducting marketing research for advance strategy and planning for outreach and activations; assisting with branding initiatives; collecting data on consumers, competitors and market place and consolidate into actionable items, reports and presentations; compiling and analyzing statistical data; providing day-to-day project support; assisting with basic office organization and administrative duties, which include filing, invoice processing, etc.; conducting research to be implemented into future marketing plans and assisting with distribution of collateral materials.
    • Experience with Excel and data analytics is preferred for success in this role.
    • A degree in Business or Marketing and prior Marketing Internship experience is preferred.

    Player Engagement

    • The Player Engagement Intern is actively involved in the off-the-field engagement of Buccaneer players. This position will assist the Director of Player Engagement with administrative projects including: reviewing curriculum, assessing and organizing ongoing programs and events for players, documenting and maintaining up-to-date active player files, weekly updates of player engagement activities, restructuring the player relocation guide and cultivating new community resources for players.  Coordinate with the Community Relations Department to organize and develop Buccaneers' Rookie Club appearances.  Respond to player personal issues, referring players and their families to qualified resources for assistance when appropriate. General assistance with the logistics of program execution including the Rookie Symposium and all other NFL-mandated Rookie programs.  The Player Engagement Intern will also provide necessary support to players, coaches and football staff as needed.
    • Must have sensitivity dealing with confidential information. Excellent content writing and presentation skills. 
    • The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and players. 
    • A quick learner with effective time management skills who is organized and detail-oriented.

    Purchasing

      • A degree in Production, Photography, Digital Media or a related field is preferred.
      • Experience in photography, Photoshop and working with digital assets of all types: images, videos, audio, graphics and text-based are required.

      Graphic Design

      • The Graphic Design Intern reports to the Creative Services Department and will receive training on how to utilize type and image to execute visually communicated solutions in print/new media consistent with Buccaneers current brand strategies. Other responsibilities include designing print ads, graphics, website ads and content, invitations and other printed and electronic materials.

      Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation - Spring Programs Intern - Washington Redskins (Ashburn, VA)

      The Washington Redskins are seeking qualified individuals to join the Community Relations/Charitable Foundation Department as an Intern. The right individual will be able to work as part of a team or individually. The ideal candidate must be able to receive college credit for a semester-long internship experience. This is a full-time internship (35 hours a week). It is preferable that the intern is able to start on or around January 2, 2018.

       

      Overview of Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation and Community Relations Department

      The Redskins Charitable Foundation is ever-present in the community, constantly working to achieve our mission to make a positive and measurable impact in the lives of children that need it most.

      Since Redskins owners Dan and Tanya Snyder created the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation in 2000, we have given back more than $20M to the community and currently provide support and services to more than 150,000 individuals (mostly children) annually, focusing on supporting education, children’s health and wellness and preparing them for their future. 

       

      Internship Responsibilities

      Assisting in the coordination and implementation of Charitable Foundation and Community Relations Department programs and events including, but not limited to:

      • Support entire department around spring special events, including Rookie Community Club, Redskins FITT events and Redskins Read Celebrations
      • Collaborate with staff on new ideas for 2018 Redskins Training Camp and other programs and events during the 2018 season
      • Monitor and update status of school and non-profit programming, including the 2017 – 2018 Redskins FITT Program and Redskins Read Program
      • Oversee in-school workshops and manage on-site facilitation of activities for Redskins FITT Program
      • Assist with the development of Youth Football initiatives including NFL Flag, Play 60 and Fuel Up to Play 60
      • Research various youth programs and potential non-profit partners throughout the DC Metro Area
      • Create thoughtful and engaging posts for the Redskins Charitable Foundation’s Twitter and Instagram accounts
      • Other duties as assigned

       

      Intern Candidate Requirements:

      • Full-time undergraduate/graduate student; MUST receive college credit in order to qualify for this internship – Proof of credit letter from your College or University is required
      • Detail oriented self-starter who works well with others
      • Highly creative to assist with new slogans, digital art and logos

      ·         Previous experience or interest in strategic marketing and/or event planning preferred

      • Excellent communication, writing & interpersonal skills
      • Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite proficient)
