DIGITAL PRODUCTION INTERN - Green Bay Packers, Inc. (Green Bay, WI)

Assist Packers Media Group in maintaining Packers.com, as well as other departmental needs. This is a paid internship and entails full-time weekdays, game days, holidays and special events.

Timeframe: February 2015 – February 2016

Job Responsibilities:

- Updates team website on a daily basis, including the posting of press releases, stories, fan polls, trivia questions and other editorial content, plus management of team roster, depth chart, transactions list and other informational pages.

- Serves as daily contact for NFL Network to provide live feeds of all press conferences.

- Assist with shooting video, setting up equipment.

- Assist with setting up and shooting daily live press conference stream on Packers.com.

- Covers community and Packers-related events, including video and photography.

- Assist with ingesting and tagging video clips.

- Assist with photo needs including editing, curating, organizing, shooting and posting to website and social media.

- Supports social media initiatives by scheduling posts for Facebook, Twitter, etc.

- Assist with miscellaneous Packers Media Group projects as necessary.

Qualifications:

- Undergraduate degree (junior status minimum) in related field.

- Knowledge and experience in HTML, CSS, Adobe Photoshop and video editing.

- Above average communication skills.

- Flexible availability to make site updates at all hours of the day, throughout the week, and holidays (as needed).

SALES & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT INTERN – IN-SEASON 2015 - Green Bay Packers, Inc. (Green Bay or Milwaukee, WI)

The Sales & Business Development Department is responsible for generating revenue for the Green Bay Packers organization through the sale of corporate sponsorships and premium seating inventory (suites & club seats). The department is also responsible for managing the relationships with corporate partners and premium seating clients.

Interns will be responsible for assisting the Sales & Business Development staff in day to day operations of the department. This includes, but is not limited to: client / partner relations, inventory management and the planning and execution of special events and game days.

TimeframeSix (6) months: Mid-July/Early August – Mid-January/Late January              

July 20, 2015 – January 17, 2016 (tentative dates)

August 3, 2015 – February 5, 2016 (tentative dates)

This is a paid internship and entails 40+ hours during the work week (Monday-Friday). Interns are also required to work all home games (pre-season, regular season and post season). Interns may also be asked to work nights, holidays and weekends as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with day-to-day Sales & Business Development administrative needs.

The Internship:

The Jacksonville Jaguars (the “Jaguars”) are currently looking for a student to shadow the Ticketing Department as part of the Jaguars internship program. The Jaguars are committed to developing talent and interest in professional sports. An internship at the Jaguars will provide you the chance to explore your career interests, acquire marketable job skills while “learning the ropes” of the industry, establish professional contacts, and gain practical “hands on” experience.

The Jaguars internships offer meaningful educational work experiences designed to meet your academic and career goals.  The Jaguars management staff will teach and encourage, but it’s up to you to bring an enthusiasm to learn.  Through this program, you will identify learning goals and work with the Jaguars management to achieve those goals.

Our Internship Program is designed for highly motivated and committed students who wish to build upon their college education with practical work experience in the fast-paced, results driven world of the NFL.  This internship program offers students opportunities for personal, technical and professional development as well as the opportunity to learn behaviors critical to successful performance on the job.

Accounting Intern:

Our accounting internship provides exposure to the day-to-day operations of an accounting department in a professional environment.  The Accounting Intern will learn internal audit techniques while obtaining hands on experience in areas such as accounts payable and fixed assets.  Other responsibilities include the completion of Microsoft Excel projects as necessary, tracking the contents of the accounting storage area, and scanning and electronically filing documents.  This position reports to the Controller.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set-up and maintain numerous accounting spreadsheets dealing with event day activities.
  • Organize and maintain department files for accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Assist staff accountant with processing accounts payable for all departments, including but not limited to invoice reconciliations, voucher preparation, and check cutting.
  • Find supporting documentation for all transactions made with corporate credit card.
  • Reconcile daily cash, process deposits and maintain change banks.
  • Prepare, verify and process invoices.
  • Assist with game day inventory tracking and analysis.
  • Bill and credit accounts in the accounts payable system.
  • Prepare and mail bills or statements, and prepare lists of outstanding bills payable.
  • Assist with preparation of daily and month-end reports, and analysis.

Cheerleader Intern:  

The Cheerleading Intern will gain valuable hands-on experience while working with the Chiefs Cheerleader Director.  This internship provides exposure to areas such as special events, merchandise sales and inventory, recruitment events, registration and youth programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organize the Junior Chiefs Cheerleader Program and communicate information about upcoming events to members.  
  • Organize and communicate information about Spirit Day.
  • Keep track of calendar grid on inventory and credits.
  • Maintain Cheerleader appearance schedule.
  • Track cheerleader merchandise inventory.
  • Research different pricing and companies when needed.
  • Assist/plan/market/advertise numerous cheerleader special events throughout the year (Spirit Day, Dance Studio Day, etc.).

Chiefs Alumni Relations and Youth Football Intern:  

This internship will be composed of planning, coordinating and supervising the team’s youth football initiatives as well as its alumni activities. The intern will be expected to exercise proper initiative and judgment in the supervision of all youth football and alumni initiatives, as well as all other departmental outreach events. Outreach, marketing, communication, leadership and organization are all important elements within this internship.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, evaluate, and coordinate practices, games, and special events on the Youth Football Field facility.
  • Enforce safety rules, schedule field and assure compliance of insurance, health and safety codes.
  • Help facilitate the Chiefs Coach of the Week and Coach of the Year programs, as well as other youth football programing.
  • Help to manage and coordinate Chiefs Ambassador meetings, appearances and annual Ambassador Golf Tournament.
  • Assist in other alumni initiatives.
  • Track and manage media coverage of Chiefs Community Caring Team initiatives.
  • Respond and coordinate daily to donation/appearance requests.
  • Assist with mailings and other distributions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Community Outreach Coordinator or other departmental staff.

Chiefs Community Outreach Intern:  

This internship will be composed of interacting with various members of the Kansas City Chiefs organization in regards to community outreach efforts and appearances. In addition, the intern will aid in responding, planning and coordinating appearances tied to local charitable causes and will be working closely with non-profit organizations. Outreach, marketing, communication, leadership and organization are all important elements within this internship.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a liaison and representative for the Kansas City Chiefs with community groups.
  • Assist the Community Relations Manager in development, recommendation and implementation of goals and policies.
  • Support members of the Chiefs Community Caring Team in regards to outreach appearances.
  • Aid in the planning and execution of community outreach initiatives.
  • Work in unison with the team’s Communications and Digital Media Departments to pitch and promote community outreach programming.
  • Track and manage media coverage of Chiefs Community Caring Team initiatives
  • Respond and coordinate daily to donation/appearance requests.
  • Assist with mailings and other distributions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Community Relations Manager or other departmental staff.

Corporate Partnerships Intern:  
The Corporate Partnerships Intern will learn from the corporate partnerships team to research, support the prospecting process, help develop pitches, and learn the process behind partnership activation.  The intern will gain hands-on experience in professional sports marketing and business development.  In addition to other tasks, the intern will assist in the design, development and execution of intense marketing presentations for high-end decision-makers from prospective and current partners, interact with key executives and decision-makers from prestigious local, national and international companies and learn the process of the creation, measurement, and communication of the value provided by an association with the Kansas City Chiefs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead generation – researching key corporate partnerships prospects, finding high level contact information and following up with sales managers on these leads.
  • Monitor national, regional, and local sponsorship activity – stay current with new deals from other NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL teams and leagues as well as maintain an awareness of current climate in the national sponsorship space.
  • Chiefs Gameday - Corporate partnerships fulfillment, VIP hospitality, sponsor entertainment and in game promotional assistance.
  • Current corporate partnerships support – assistance in activation of current partnerships, including ticket fulfillment, gift deliveries, entertainment tracking, etc.
  • Corporate Partnerships Coordinator support – when necessary, assisting the Coordinators in their needs to execute sponsor events, programs and hospitality.
  • Meeting preparation – assisting with the details in advance of a new business presentation meeting or current sponsor meeting, including room preparation, company research, food and beverage support, etc.

Customer Relations Intern:  
This internship will be composed of interacting with Chiefs Season Ticket Members, fans and all guests of Arrowhead Stadium.  Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to multitask, leadership skills and high levels of organization are all important elements within the internship.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Customer Relations staff with written and verbal communications to Season Ticket Members and fans.
  • Complete various duties at Chiefs and Arrowhead related events (ie. Season Ticket Member Events, Chiefs Games, College Games).
  • Assist in preparation of staffing for all games and special events.
  • Provide prompt, accurate, courteous service to guests during an event.
  • Assist with the fulfillment and distribution of various promotional items.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Event Operations Intern:  
The Event Operations Intern is responsible for providing a standard of excellent service to internal and external guests and staff by assisting with the administrative support and day-to-day operations of the Operations Department – Event Operations, Guest Services, and Game Day Employee Relations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of corporate and private events including event set-up and teardown.
  • Assist in the creation of event materials utilizing AutoCAD, Visio, or EBMS.
  • Coordinate meetings with existing and potential clients.
  • Attend meetings with clients as appropriate to prepare for events.
  • Assist department managers with leads and communication.

Event Sales Intern:  

The Event Sales Intern will be responsible for supporting Event Sales Managers by providing administrative, clerical, and client support.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fan Analytics and Database Intern:

This internship provides an avenue to develop the individual’s skill set in a professional real-world environment while working under direct supervision of the Fan Insight and Analytics Manager.  Experience will be gained in data insight and usage, email marketing and communication plans.  Responsible for the coordination and execution of projects related to database communication and fan analytics.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with email marketing, database communication and campaign analytics.
  • Assist in developing analytical strategy for determining campaign effectiveness including creating of test plans and experimental designs, identification of KPIs based on marking objectives and formation of detailed analysis plans and schedules in accordance with client needs for short and long term planning needs.
  • Prepares comprehensive summaries of analysis results, capturing data driven insights in a compelling manner and offering recommendations to drive marketing strategy and shape current and future business processes that ultimately lead to improved ROI on marketing spend.
  • Assist with the gathering, cleaning and integration of data.

Human Resources Intern: 

The Human Resources Intern will directly assist the Human Resources Department with a wide range of projects related to HR compliance, recruiting, onboarding, and administration support.  This individual will also be responsible for assisting in the development and execution of various managerial projects and in the completion of all office duties as delegated by the Human Resources staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the hiring and on-boarding process for Game Day Event Staff by preparing new hire paperwork, scheduling new employees for orientation, assisting with orientation, data entry, and file management.
  • Conduct audits of personnel files and assist with department filing to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Assist in all aspects of the internship program, including sourcing and screening of candidates, maintaining job descriptions, as well as scheduling and conducting phone interviews.
  • Assist department with event preparation and planning for our Employee Appreciation Day.
  • Respond to all staff and employment inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Perform organizational and special projects as assigned.

Information Technology Intern:

The Information Technology Intern will assist in providing day-to-day computing support to the staff of the Kansas City Chiefs.  Duties include assisting with upgrades, configurations and migrations of office computers, providing helpdesk support for end users and troubleshooting computer hardware and software issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor our Service Desk application for any and all incoming requests from our football and administrative staff.
  • Identify, research, resolve and respond to desktop, laptop and network issues in a timely fashion.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic IT support requests using established processes and procedures.
  • Install, repair, maintain and configure hardware (printers, copiers, mobile phones, etc.) and software applications (Microsoft, Cisco, Adobe, etc.) in a network environment.
  • Must possess understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office 2010/2013, and Malware/Anti-Virus tools.
  • Pursuit of an Information Systems or related degree is preferred.
  • Occasional lifting of laptops, desktops, printers, and other equipment.

Marketing & Special Events Intern:  
The Marketing department is responsible for all brand building efforts for the Chiefs organization.  This entails developing key fan insights and translating insights into breakthrough fan engagement efforts.  These efforts may be through traditional media, new media, events, promotions, etc.  The Special Events department is tasked with acquiring and executing large scale concerts, productions & sporting events at Arrowhead Stadium. This requires detailed planning and logistical coordination. This Intern will gain valuable training from the marketing and special events teams, as well as cross-departmental interactions on how to most effectively build a brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Marketing – Experience will be gained in media promotions, marketing plans, fact finding, media buying, copy writing, fan experience and other areas of media, marketing & promotions.
  • Chiefs Kids Club – Work on our main youth initiative, the Chiefs Kids Club, including day-to-day operation of the program, grassroots marketing efforts, newsletter development and more.
  • Events – Experience will be gained in event operations, customer service, event acquisition, event research, etc. This experience will include Chiefs games and Special Events depending on the time of year (Draft Party, Red Friday, Gameday production, concerts, training camp, college football, etc).

Production & Game Entertainment Intern:  

The Production & Game Entertainment Intern will gain valuable hands-on experience while working directly with the Chiefs Manager of Production & Game Entertainment.  The support of this intern will play an instrumental role in the success of the department.  Duties will center on supporting in the planning and implementation of the 2015 game production.  This includes on-field entertainment, fan interaction, video board content strategy, and assisting with other game production related elements as needed.  In addition, the position will provide the unique opportunity to gain experience in both large scale entertainment/ event planning and broadcast production.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with detailed and time sensitive game entertainment planning for the 2015 season.
  • Participate in inter-departmental and vendor planning sessions.  Support all related follow through including detailed coordination and pre-season rehearsals.
  • Work with department to select, confirm, and lock in detailed plans for each game’s Hometown Hero, National Anthem Performers, Contest Winners, etc.
  • Act as liaison and representative for the Kansas City Chiefs with all incoming game entertainment inquiries including Honor Guard and National Anthem.
  • Work directly with Manager of Production & Entertainment to oversee National Anthem tryouts and the Tony DiPardo Fan of the Year program.
  • Support day to day needs of Chiefs in-house production team, 65TPT as assigned by Manager of Production & Game Entertainment.
  • Assist in coordinating partner traffic and affiliate broadcast information for ongoing 65TPT broadcasts including Preseason Game Broadcasts.
  • Track department’s merchandise inventory & related purchases.

Sports Lab Intern:  
The Chiefs Sports Lab powered by Blue KC is located inside the New Arrowhead Stadium featuring hands-on and computer interactive activities promoting the importance of being active in your daily life, good nutrition, and healthy living.  This internship will be composed of interacting with educators, youth and community groups within an educational setting.  Sales, marketing, communication and organization are all important elements within the internship.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with sales and marketing for the Sports Lab to potential groups.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of KC Chiefs Sports Lab Events.
  • Interaction with groups during their visit to the KC Chiefs Sports Lab.
  • Inventory and Organization of Sports Lab materials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Sports Lab Coordinator.
  • Reports to KC Chiefs Sports Lab Coordinator.

Stadium Facilities Intern - AutoCAD LT Drafting:  
The Stadium Facilities Intern will assist the Facilities Department with basic drafting update work of existing CAD drawings from Arrowhead Stadium. Position will focus primarily on working in and organizing CAD drawings of an operational stadium.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with cleaning and updating existing CAD drawings.
  • Organizing existing CAD files in a logical and intuitive manner.
  • Combining files from multiple projects into one updated and current project.
  • Taking accurate measurements in the field and having the ability to accurately replicate them in a drawing space for as built references.
  • Assist with any office work to be completed for Stadium Operations.

Stadium Services Intern:  
The Stadium Services Intern will assist the Stadium Operations department with general prep and office work. This individual will also be responsible for assisting with event preparations, reorganizations, and green initiative programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with Club Level reorganization and storage.
  • Assist with Stadium Operations event conversions.
  • Assist with maintaining current equipment inventory for the department.
  • Assist with department office work including checking emails, responding to voicemails, filing, etc.
  • Assist with our Green Initiatives Extra Yard for the Environment program.
  • Assist with checklist and procedural changes.

Suites & Hospitality Intern:  
The Kansas City Chiefs Suites & Hospitality Intern will assist in all premium services, suites and hospitality areas for the organization.  The support of this intern will play an instrumental role in the success of this department.  Duties will include assisting the department with suite sales, planning and facilitation of VIP client events, drafting suite holder communications and assisting with other premium related activities as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Service Coordinators with any and all tasks pertaining to current clients.
  • Assist the Sales Managers with any and all tasks pertaining to prospects and potential clients.

AV Production Intern - Summer 2015 - Kansas City Chiefs (Kansas City, MO)

JOB SUMMARY: This is an unpaid summer 2015 internship with 65 Toss Power Trap Productions, the in-house production arm of the Kansas City Chiefs, responsible for broadcast, episodic television programming, internet content, in-house company projects, spots, and the in-stadium show. The person selected for this internship will assist the department with a wide variety of audio and video projects. This intern must have audio/video production experience.

Our HD stadium and television shows, and new ventures in online video programming have taken on tremendous upgrades in philosophy and equipment, and we are eager to keep the ball rolling with young energetic, artistic talent thirsty for experience. We give all interns real world, in-the-trenches experience, opportunities to enhance the department, and great referrals when we see them go. The AV Production Intern will shoot video, log, archive, and edit football content and features, and assist in Arrowhead’s control room show. This intern is a functional part of our team and must be coachable to learn proven award-winning philosophies in production. Travel is sometimes necessary and always reimbursed. Approximately 40 hours a week with flexible scheduling.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Produce/shoot/edit video elements to be used in-stadium, TV and/or Internet.

2. Assist in the maintenance of Arrowhead Production equipment.

3. Shoot, log, and archive football footage.

6. Must be able to shoot video. We can train. DSLR/Panasonic P2/Arri Amira/Red Epic camera experience a plus.

The Video Production Intern is responsible for working as a team to create these video resources. Specific responsibilities include:
• Consult with member and prospective-member organizations and coaches through proactive and reactive communications regarding membership, term, usage, and issue resolution
• Assist new organizations with Heads Up Football® registration process
• Maintain internal CRM database
• Interpret member feedback and work with USA Football’s digital team to improve current resources and user experience

Skills Needed:
• Excellent oral and written communication skills – prior customer service skills a plus

• Organizational skills including ability to handle a high volume of detail-oriented work

Summer Communications Intern - Washington Redskins (Ashburn, VA)

Internship Summary:

The Washington Redskins Communications Department offers summer, season-long and spring internships. The internships are designed for either undergraduate or graduate students and are unpaid positions. All candidates must be able to receive course-credit for the internship. The intern will have the opportunity to learn about the responsibilities of a National Football League communications staff while working as a member of the department and assisting in its day-to-day functions.
Interns must be able to work extended hours including some nights and weekends. A background in public/media relations or sport management is strongly encouraged. Candidates must possess strong written and oral communication skills.  The intern will be required to participate in a mandatory background check and drug testing at the beginning of the internship.

Summer Internship Responsibilities (May – August)

  • Oversee the compilation and distribution of daily news clips.
  • Write and edit material for use in the team's annual media guide.
  • Assist with Mini Camp and OTAs.
  • Aid in facilitation and coordination of player and coach interviews.
  • Assist with transcribing daily quotes.
  • Facilitate various requests by media members for information, statistics, etc.
  • Assist with Training Camp credential preparation.
  • Research statistical information for management, coaches, scouts and other as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Communications staff.

Intern Candidate Requirements:

  • Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate/graduate student.

  • Attend Redskins-related special events, including networking events, at Redskins Park and FedExField held throughout the semester (fall semester-expected to attend and help out during each home game).
  • Photograph and organize pictures taken at each Redskins-related event.
  • Call current and/or prospective clients to arrange and confirm meetings and/or event attendance.
  • Assist in answering phones and taking down messages at any point in time-especially when full-time staff are absent from desk/attending meetings, etc.
  • Utilize the Redskins' FedEx online account to create labels for shipping client gifts, ticket packages, etc.
  • Assist with creating and facilitating mail merges/blast emails to reach current and prospective clients.

Time Requirements:

  • Full time is preferred (M-F) 9:00 a.m.. - 6:00 p.m..
  • Also ability to schedule a 15-25 hours per week schedule; a schedule of Tuesday and Thursday 10:00 a.m..-5:00 p.m.. with a half day on Friday (9:00 a.m..-1:00 p.m..) would also be considered (there is flexibility: for example, it could be Monday and Wednesday schedule); additional work required on weekends/nights contingent upon game and event schedule (Note: Fall interns must be available to work on games days).
