Fan Experience Intern (Spring 2018) - Jacksonville Jaguars (Jacksonville, FL)

Position Summary:

The Jacksonville Jaguars Fan Experience Spring Internship is designed to provide students with experience in the day-to-day operations of the Jacksonville Jaguars. The internship offers students opportunities for professional development and practical, “hands on” experience working under the guidance of our Senior Vice President Sales and Service.

Job Responsibilities You Will Learn:

  • How to respond to guest and employee suggestions, questions, complaints or comments
  • How to plan and execute events held by the Jaguars

  • How to supervise areas of the stadium on game day

  • How to prepare the guest services booths and concierge desks for game day

  • How to create event-specific communications and promotional material for fans

  • How to create weekly supervisor manuals for game day supervisors, including event-specific details and fan-related issues requiring follow-up

  • How to generate post-game reports for issue resolution and talking points for upcoming game day meetings

  • How to create, organize and distribute content for game day e-newsletters

  • How to operate daily in the stadium’s incident management system, following-up as needed with issues, acting as liaison between the fans and the organization

Required Internship Qualifications:

  • Availability from January 2018, through the beginning of May 2018.

  • All applicants must be eligible to receive college credit for their internship.

Scholarship:
Because internships at the Jaguars are educational experiences, they are unpaid.  However, the Jaguars will provide a scholarship of $250.00 per month to assist with your travel expenses to and from the stadium while participating in the internship program. You must secure your own housing and transportation and be present in-office throughout the week.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Ticket & Fan Services Intern will learn the intricacies of an NFL Ticket Operations and Fan Services Department while strengthening their professional attributes. To participate in this internship, students must be able to receive credit from their college or university.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Ticket & Fan Services Intern will enhance their education by working under the direct supervision of the Ticket Operations Manager, Game Day Staff Payroll & Scheduling Coordinator, or Fan Experience Manager, depending on their position.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Ticket Services

  • Assist with incoming calls and emails to the Ticket Office and Fan Services lines and assist visitors at ticket windows
  • Manage and maintain customer/season ticket member hard file system
  • Learn and use Archtics ticketing systems for reports and account updates
  • Learn and use the Philadelphia Eagles CRM database for reports and account updates
  • Organizing and preparing department for season and game days
  • Assist with data entry including, SBL information, customer information, and financial information
  • Assist Premium Seat Ticket Manager with contracts and data processing
  • Assist Special Event Ticket Manager with all non-Eagles events including event set-up, ticket sales, and ticket mailings
  • Help organize and input incoming payments, including tracking and creating batches and financial reports
  • Work all exclusive Season Ticket Member events as well as all events at Lincoln Financial Field
  • Assist staff within the Ticket Operations, Guest Services, and Season Ticket Member Services Departments with day-to-day operations

Fan Services

  • Assist with day-to-day Game Day Staff communication via phone and email
  • Analyze employee feedback to identify areas of improvement
  • Assist in the response of fan suggestions, questions, complaints or comments via phone and email
  • Assist in operational support of Fan Services locations
  • Support the lost and found program, including logging, returning and donating items
  • Utilize SalesForce CRM database software to track and analyze fan interactions
  • Become proficient in ABI MasterMind program and assist in updating event schedules and employee files for Game Day Staff
  • Assist with event day preparation, including copying and organizing materials and equipment
  • Support the Fan Experience department with planning, logistics, and execution of Game Day Staff Hiring, Game Day Staff Trainings, Game Day Staff Appreciation Days, and Game Day Staff Post-Season Party
  • Assist staff within the Ticket Operations, Fan Services, and Season Ticket Member Services Departments with day-to-day operations
  • Work all events at Lincoln Financial Field as well as Game Day Staff related events

QUALIFICATIONS

The Washington Redskins Photography Department offers summer, season-long and spring internships.  The internships are designed for either undergraduate or graduate students and are unpaid positions.  All candidates must be able to receive course-credit for the internship.  The intern will have the opportunity to learn about the responsibilities of a National Football League communications staff while working as a member of the department and assisting in its day-to-day functions. 

Interns must be able to work extended hours including some nights and weekends.  A background in photography or digital media is strongly encouraged.  Candidates must possess strong written and oral communication skills.  The intern will be required to participate in a mandatory background check and drug testing at the beginning of the internship. 

Spring Internship Responsibilities (January – May)

  • Photographing team events as well as “behind-the-scenes” opportunities around the team facility and at the stadium.
  • Help with editing photos through Adobe Creative Cloud software and other similar programs.
  • Helping the team photographer with all photo shoot requests, including equipment needs and set up (lighting/backdrops/scenery, etc.)
  • Assisting with the management of team’s photo archive, including the sorting of all shots into the digital photo drive, as well as the scanning and cataloging of historical photos.
  • Working hand-in-hand with the public relations, digital media and marketing departments to fulfill any needs

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor daily content and fan engagement on various Redskins social media sites, including: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Snapchat and Reddit.
  • Manage and monitor spam and commenting modules on social sites, as well as initiate fan discussion and engage with fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

·         Research and share emerging social media practices and trends with the rest of the digital content team.

  • Assist in the dissemination of Redskins news and team updates across all social channels.

·          Maintain methods of organization and communication throughout the office, by properly labeling folders and binders, circulating contracts, updating the current suite listing/availability charts, etc.

·          Assist with the distribution of contractual gifts and update the Suites/Hospitality inventory spread sheet (reorganization of gift storage facility may also be occasionally needed).

·          Attend Redskins-related special events, including networking events, at Redskins Park and FedExField held throughout the semester

·          Attend all Redskins home games and assist with game-day prep, visit clients, and other game day duties as assisgned.

·          Photograph and organize pictures taken at each Redskins-related event.

·          Call current and/or prospective clients to arrange and confirm meetings and/or event attendance.

·          Assist in answering phones and taking down messages at any point in time – especially when full-time staff are absent from desk/attending meetings, etc.

·          Utilize the Redskins’ FedEx online account to create labels for shipping client gifts, ticket packages, etc.

·          Assist with creating and facilitating mail merges/blast emails to reach current and prospective clients.

Time Requirements:

·          Full time is preferred: (M-F) 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

·          Ability to work home games is preferred

·          Part time availability would be considered for 20-25 hours per week schedule; additional work may be required on weekends/nights contingent upon event and game schedule.

WRCF Special Events and Development Internship - Washington Redskins (Ashburn, VA)

The Washington Redskins are seeking a qualified individual to join the Community Relations/Charitable Foundation Department as an intern. The individual will have the opportunity to learn about the responsibilities of a National Football League Community Relations Department and Charitable Foundation by working as a member of a fast paced, event driven team.

It is preferable that the intern is able to start on or around January 7, 2018, however this date is flexible. Candidate MUST be able to work at least 40 hours a week.

 

Internship Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·         Assist in the detailed coordination and execution of high-profile fundraising events for the Redskins Charitable Foundation, with key responsibilities ranging from securing vendors, working with our program partners, prospecting potential sponsors, coordinating guests/registrants, etc. Upcoming events include but are not limited to:

o   Redskins Draft Day Dash 5K – The team’s official 5K hosted at FedExField during the NFL Draft with more than 3,000 runners.

o   Redskins Charity Golf Classic Tournament – The official golf tournament of the Washington Redskins features a player or alumni captain with each foursome.

o   57th Annual Redskins Welcome Home Luncheon – This event heralds the beginning of the 2018 season and is our biggest fundraiser of the year.

·         Play a key role in strategic planning for Foundation messaging, marketing, sponsorship and events for the 2018 season, from building the Foundation’s Annual Report to revamping existing programs and campaigns (i.e. Breast Cancer Awareness T-shirt Campaign, 50/50 Raffle, etc.)

·         Manage select social media accounts for the Foundation; Responsible for targeted initiatives to grow account followers and increase fan engagement (i.e. Instagram and Twitter)

·         Assist the Community Relations team with programming events and player appearances including Play 60, Redskins Read, etc.

·         Manage select vendor relationships as an important part of the event planning process

·         Manage Silent Auction item procurement across several major events; Responsible for building relationships with local businesses and organizations 

·         Build sponsor and event presentation recaps

·         Work directly with the Director of Special Events on numerous projects

 

Intern Candidate Requirements:

  • Full-time undergraduate/graduate student; MUST receive college credit in order to qualify for this internship – Proof of credit from your College or University is required
  • Detail oriented self-starter and creative-thinker who works well with others

·         Previous experience or interest in marketing and/or event planning preferred

Client Services & Marketing Internship - Washington Redskins Radio ESPN980 (Rockville, MD)

The purpose of this internship is to give students an opportunity to learn and provide support in the day to day operations of the Marketing & Client Services department. Responsibilities may include designing and creating new sales materials, planning and assisting in the execution of station promotional events, supporting the sales and marketing teams, client and market research, and working at station remote broadcasts including home game dates. Interns may also work with clients on day to day projects involving game day marketing campaigns and on-air advertising.

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Applicants must be dedicated, hard-working, self motivated and open to learning new skills through hands-on experience.
  • Must apply creativity and initiative to all projects.
  • Clear verbal, written and typing/computer skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of media, sports and entertainment industries is preferred.
  • Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word programs are used daily.

Requirements and Reporting Structure:

This is an unpaid internship and students must earn college credit. Students must be entering at least their junior year in college to be considered. The main office location of Red Zebra Broadcasting is in Rockville, MD and applicants must be able to provide their own transportation to the station as well as possible events at FedEx Field in Landover, MD or Redskins Park in Ashburn, VA.
