Event Operations Intern - Dallas Cowboys Football Club-AT&T Stadium (Arlington, TX)

The Event Operations Intern is responsible for providing a standard of excellent service to internal and external guests and staff by assisting with the administrative support and day-to-day operations of the Event Operations Department – Guest Services, Event Operations, and Staff Relations. This posting  is for a summer internship.

Summary of Duties and Functions

Game Day Staff:
• Assist in the collection, input and documentation of all required employee information for part time event staff. 
• Assist Coordinators with the management of employee uniforms/equipment and id-badges and maintain accurate records.
• Assist in coordination under Coordinators for the Employee Check-In area and uniform pick-up area.
• Assist with communications to Game Day Staff in preparation for Event Days.
• Assist with preparation of training materials for Game Day Staff Trainings as well as execution.
• Assist with preparation of stadium collateral materials.


Guest Services:
• Assist with Guest Services Function as it pertains to Lost & Found, Flag Flying, etc…
• Promptly respond to comments received from our guests in writing or over the telephone.
• Document guest contacts in GoalPost – Computerized database system.


Event Operations:
• Assist with the preparation of event materials for stadium events.
• Serve as event manager for special events as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned by Event Operations Full-Time Staff.

Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program with junior level status or higher.
• Previous experience coordinating events/programs preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with ABI Mastermind preferred.
• Able to work well within a team environment, offering assistance and support to team members whenever necessary.
• Able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Job Title: Marketing and Sponsorship Intern
Department: Marketing

Timeline: June 1, 2015 – January 29, 2016

Normal work hours: Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. However, this position requires a flexible schedule and the ability to work evenings and weekends.
 

SUMMARY: To provide support to the entire marketing department staff, handle fan inquiries and affinity program registrations and represent the organization in a positive manner. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist marketing and sponsorship departments with all essential tasks as requested
  • Answer main phone line for marketing department and transfer calls to appropriate staff members
  • Handle all mail coming in and going out of the marketing department – postage, mail merge, packaging, etc.
  • Order office supplies for department including items for break room and make coffee daily
  • Keep office organized, clean and professional at all times
  • Handle all event and affinity group registrations (Broncos Bunch kids club, Crush – women’s fan club, license plate program, etc.)
  • Send out all general marketing correspondence to fans
  • Assist with all events including all home games

  • Provide support to marketing team through market research, competitive activity and industry trends

  • Provide support for marketing staff on game day from activation set up and fulfillment both pregame and in-game, digital creative reporting and proof of performance, suite hosting, etc.

  • Prepare monthly sponsorship newsletter and case studies

  • Assist with sponsor asset fulfillment

  • Preparing status reports for weekly meetings

  • Prepare recommendations and order branded giveaways/merchandise

  • Assist with presentations, sponsorship collateral and end of season recaps.

The Green Bay Packers’ IT team is searching for a self-motivated college student studying Computer Science, or a related field, to intern for the spring of 2015. We are looking for someone skilled and ambitious to assist our IT staff in everyday functions as well as unique and critical projects.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is and responsible for overseeing all aspects of Sportservice Catering, including origination to completion of game day and non-game day catering functions at Lambeau Field

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinate game day catering and ensures all Sportservice,  Guest Path, and Green Path policies are implemented
• Train, schedule, supervise and discipline all Catering staff

• Stock essential items in storage units
• Communicate with Packers sales staff and Culinary department on all event and food needs
• Learn basics of food preparation under the guidelines of Health Rules and Regulations and gain insight into product ordering and specifications, create and use production sheets for upcoming events
• Enter contact information and orders into Delphi
• Learn to plan and execute meetings, parties, and special events
• Other duties as assigned

2015 Fall Marketing Events Internship - Pittsburgh Steelers (Pittsburgh, PA)

 

2015 Steelers Marketing Events Internship

General Time Period:  Week of August 17, 2015 – Sunday January 2, 2016

I. FedEx Steelers Traveling Great Hall - Up to 8 visits dictated by sponsors to sites determined by sponsors on weekends from September 5 until November 21.

Ø Responsibilities include set-up (1 1/2 hours) and take down (1 1/2 hours) of FedEx Steelers Traveling Great Hall 53’ trailer.  TGH would be at the site for approximately 3 hours.  Participants will be given the opportunity to spin the prize wheel and tour the elements inside the trailer.

Ø Total hours needed = 40 hours

Ø Compensation would be $50/visit

II. Eight (8) regular season game day opportunities  - Assist staff to execute sponsor and guest pre-game field passes, seating in all of the Steelers Hospitality seating areas and any other game day Marketing responsibilities that may arise – “Whatever it takes to get the job done”.

Ø Compensation is $100 for each home game.

Ø Total hours needed for Game Days = 8 hours per game = 64 hours

III. Opportunity to work Marketing Events - Assist Marketing Department with events such as Gatorade 5K Race, 84 Lumber Family Day events, FedEx and Pepsi Kids Day events, Monday Night at the South Side events, 2015 Steelers Style weekend events, 2015 Steelers Ladies Night Out, Steelers Women’s 202 Clinic and any other Marketing events which may occur during the course of the season.

·        Marketing Interns are compensated for each of these events at a rate determined by supervisor.

·        Marketing Intern must work a minimum of 10 events during the season – average of 6 hours per event = 60 hours

Students must be enrolled in college in Marketing, Sports Marketing, Business Administration or Communications majors to qualify.  Steelers will work with college advisors to set up the program to provide 3 college credits for approx. 164 hours worked.  Intern must have reliable transportation.  Interviews will be conducted during the weeks of March 30 and April 6 at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh.  The deadline for applying is Friday March 20.

General Statement of Duties:

o   Assist in the execution of promotions, sponsor programs and overall servicing.

o   Assist Marketing Department with events such as the Steelers Kickoff Luncheon, Gatorade 5K Race, 84 Lumber Family Days events, FedEx and Pepsi Kids Days, Monday Night at the South Side events, 2015 Steelers Style weekend events, Women’s 202 Clinic, Ladies Night Out and any other Marketing events which may occur during the course of the season.

o   Coordinate in-season Steelers Mascot requests

o   Serve as a handler for Steelers Mascot on game days and at selected appearances

o   Assist with planning and execution of Steelers community and charitable events.

o   Assist with Steelers Mascot costume maintenance

o   Assist in the execution of the FedEx Traveling Great Hall Trailer to satisfy sponsor agreement appearances.

o   Perform additional duties assigned by all members of marketing staff on a daily basis

o   Work directly with the Marketing staff in performing all necessary Game Day responsibilities at Heinz Field.  The Intern will report four hours prior to kickoff and work with sponsor pre-game field passes and hospitality along with execution of pre-game and halftime entertainment.

o   Students must be enrolled in college in Marketing, Sports Marketing, Business Administration or Communications majors to qualify.

Compensation: This is a non-paid internship for 6 credits.  The internship will run for a period of 18 weeks with an approximate work schedule of 15 hours per week (270 total).  The intern will be compensated for any events worked outside of the 15 hour per week schedule.  Steelers will work with college advisors to set up the program to provide college credit.  Intern must have reliable transportation.  Interviews will be conducted during the weeks of March 30 and April 6 at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh.  The deadline for applying is Friday March 20.

We offer internships throughout our organization and we pride ourselves on offering valuable work experience to interns in a variety of different departments. We have current openings in: Corporate Partnerships, Suites/Hospitality, Ticketing/Marketing, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Fan Development/Community Outreach and PR departments. Specific and detailed job descriptions for each position will be provided to the selected intern once the final candidates have been determined. Note: Interns may rotate between departments as needed.

Objective:

Provide an opportunity to a diverse group of students to gain experience and knowledge in the business, football and stadium operations of a NFL organization. Our interns work alongside our full-time staff and play an integral role in the success of our organization by bringing fresh new ideas that help with the overall success of our company. Interns are involved in active projects in their department where they can apply their coursework and experience in a professional environment, gaining valuable NFL experience.


Time Frame:

Most of our intern placements will last the duration of the NFL season (approx. late June or early July – February). We will, however, have a few positions that are available for summer only (approx. mid June – August).


Requirements: Applicants Must:

Be currently enrolled as a junior, senior or recent graduate (within 6 months) from a four year college or university. Grad. school students are eligible to apply as well.
• Have authorization to work in the U.S.
• Have a current driver’s license.
• Be able to work 20+ hours per week as well as game day/nights, weekends and other various events.


Qualifications:

Qualified applicants must be detail oriented, responsible and have excellent organizational skills. Individuals must also have great written and oral communication skills and be able to work in a fast-paced setting. We also require good computer skills within the Microsoft Office platforms (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint).


Selection Process:

Final applicants will be contacted and invited to participate in our interview process starting in late April and early May. All interviews will take place at our team headquarters and must be done in person, since we will not conduct phone interviews. Further, we will not pay for any interview related expenses such as travel or lodging; these expenses are the sole responsibility of the applicant.

Summer Communications Intern - Washington Redskins (Ashburn, VA)

Internship Summary:

The Washington Redskins Communications Department offers summer, season-long and spring internships. The internships are designed for either undergraduate or graduate students and are unpaid positions. All candidates must be able to receive course-credit for the internship. The intern will have the opportunity to learn about the responsibilities of a National Football League communications staff while working as a member of the department and assisting in its day-to-day functions.
Interns must be able to work extended hours including some nights and weekends. A background in public/media relations or sport management is strongly encouraged. Candidates must possess strong written and oral communication skills.  The intern will be required to participate in a mandatory background check and drug testing at the beginning of the internship.

Summer Internship Responsibilities (May – August)

  • Oversee the compilation and distribution of daily news clips.
  • Write and edit material for use in the team's annual media guide.
  • Assist with Mini Camp and OTAs.
  • Aid in facilitation and coordination of player and coach interviews.
  • Assist with transcribing daily quotes.
  • Facilitate various requests by media members for information, statistics, etc.
  • Assist with Training Camp credential preparation.
  • Research statistical information for management, coaches, scouts and other as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Communications staff.

Intern Candidate Requirements:

  • Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate/graduate student.

Responsibilities, BUT may not be limited to the following:

  • Overall-lead generation, data entry, internet research, client services, and event planning.
  • Assist in the maintenance of Client Database that concerns our current and prospective clients, by updating personal and professional information - may be required to research contact information for prospective clients or referrals, using sources outside our internal database.
  • Utilize the Archtics Ticketing Program to assist in looking up current accounts for ticket-related information, invoice requests, contact information, etc.
  • Assist with the planning and executing of Washington Redskins Suite Owner and/or prospect events.
  • Maintain methods of organization and communication throughout the office, by properly labeling folders and binders, circulating contracts, updating the current suite listing/availability charts, etc.
  • Assist with the distribution of contractual gifts and update the Suites/Hospitality inventory spread sheet (reorganization of gift storage facility may also be occasionally needed).
  • Attend Redskins-related special events, including networking events, at Redskins Park and FedExField held throughout the semester (fall semester-expected to attend and help out during each home game).
  • Photograph and organize pictures taken at each Redskins-related event.
  • Call current and/or prospective clients to arrange and confirm meetings and/or event attendance.
  • Assist in answering phones and taking down messages at any point in time-especially when full-time staff are absent from desk/attending meetings, etc.
  • Utilize the Redskins' FedEx online account to create labels for shipping client gifts, ticket packages, etc.
  • Assist with creating and facilitating mail merges/blast emails to reach current and prospective clients.

Time Requirements:

  • Full time is preferred (M-F) 9:00 a.m.. - 6:00 p.m..
  • Also ability to schedule a 15-25 hours per week schedule; a schedule of Tuesday and Thursday 10:00 a.m..-5:00 p.m.. with a half day on Friday (9:00 a.m..-1:00 p.m..) would also be considered (there is flexibility: for example, it could be Monday and Wednesday schedule); additional work required on weekends/nights contingent upon game and event schedule (Note: Fall interns must be available to work on games days).
