Season Internship:

Daily clips from websites featuring news about Chargers, AFC West and NFL

Help facilitate player and coaches media requests

Provide writing support for all Chargers’ publications

Oversee Charger Media Center upkeep

Assist with press box set-up & press conference room on game day

Transcribe player interviews and all press conferences

Coordinate daily media access during open-locker-room sessions and open practice periods

Handle administrative duties

Assist with credential allocation

Research statistics and pertinent info for press releases

Catalog photos on Photofile

Training Camp Internship:

Assist PR Dept. with daily live radio remotes

Applicants must be legally permitted to work in the United States. International students must have all visas and employment authorizations prior to the start of the internship. Students must be within the United States at the time of the application and interview processes.

Applicants must be available from mid-July 2015 through the end of the football season.

First consideration will be given to:

Seniors in an undergraduate program; current seniors intending to enter a graduate or professional school in the fall of 2015; or graduate or law students returning to school in the fall of 2015

    Undergraduate students with an overall GPA of at least a 3.0 and 3.2 in their major;

    Graduate students with a GPA of at least a 3.1;

Internships dates vary depending on department needs. Applicants will be asked to provide their availability in the application. Work hours and days will vary by position and responsibilities.

Community Outreach – ST. LOUIS RAMS

Position: Corporate Communication Intern

Department: Community Outreach and Civic Affairs

The St. Louis Rams are seeking a college graduate with a degree in communication or journalism with an interest in feature writing and off the field reporting to serve as a Rams corporate communication intern during the 2015 season. The St. Louis Rams corporate communication intern must be a professional, team-oriented individual willing and able to immediately contribute to the goals of the Corporate Communications/Community Outreach department.

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Write stories on community and off the field events, staff days of service volunteer efforts and community driven initiatives of the players, cheerleaders, alumni, front office or organization for the Rams’ official web site and/or publications
  • Assist with managing all website information on www.stlouisrams.com pertinent to the Corporate Communications/Community Outreach department
  • Supply Social Media & Research Analyst with social media coverage and promotion of off field organizational opportunities on a regular (if not daily) basis
  • Assist with 50/50 charitable raffle during home games and Rams events
  • Serve as assistant editor and contributor for Rams Insider, the official game day magazine of the St. Louis Rams
  • Assist with writing press releases and contribute to all other publications as directed
  • Schedule community department photographer requests and Rams Broadcast Network requests
  • Manage community outreach photo drive and supply the marketing team with appropriate images to be uploaded to the digital asset manager database
  • Assist with media coordination for all community outreach and organizational events and promotions
  • Transcribe voicemails from fan comment line and forward to appropriate department
  • Research and review other industry and team web sites to suggest best practices for consideration by the Rams
  • Assist with team programs and special events
  • Work closely with all internal stakeholders including, but not limited to: Marketing, Ticketing, Sponsorship and Media Relations departments
  • Participate in staff meetings by offering insight, suggestions, etc.
  • Assume any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the intern coordinator, community outreach department and/or vice president of corporate communications/civic affairs
  • Oversee creation of season recap photo book
  • Work in tandem with community outreach intern, offering assistance when necessary to maintain balanced departmental work load
  • Assist with fulfillment of Community Outreach donation requests and weekly mailings
  • Assist with front desk receptionist duties as needed

Job Requirements:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Experience in PhotoShop is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, writing and verbal skills
  • Ability to communicate efficiently with various audiences
  • Display the ability to interact with athletes, coaches and club executives and possess very high degree of discretion, professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects within the timelines required and with accuracy
  • Strong interest for writing and content creation necessary
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, initiative and tact

The St. Louis Rams community outreach intern must be a professional, team-oriented individual willing and able to immediately contribute to the goals of the Corporate Communications/ Community Outreach department.

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan and assist with team programs (providing administrative assistance, etc.) and special events (i.e. training camp, Hometown Huddle, Rams Play 60 efforts, Georgia Frontiere Community QB Awards, Motion for Kids Holiday Party, Staff Days of Service, Taste of the NFL, etc.)
  • Assist with coordination of charity partnership in-game initiatives
  • Assist with procurement of player autographs for charitable donations
  • Assist with 50/50 charitable raffle during home games and Rams events
  • Move, manage and organize merchandise and departmental items for weekly mailings and as needed for events
  • Coordinate the fulfillment of donation requests that come into the Community Outreach Department (pulling items, arranging for delivery of items from off-site storage, coordinating pick-up, etc.)
  • Generate correspondence to community members seeking support from the Rams as needed
  • Oversee Training Camp Community VIP guest application process and manage VIP experience
  • Research charities for potential game ticket distribution or training camp visits
